Anri's Straight Sword is a Weapon in Dark Souls 3.



Sword precious to Anri, another Unkindled. The dullest type of blade found in the ruined land of Astora.

Only, it was once the sword of an earnest noble figure, and its attacks are boosted by that elusive, essential property unique to humans: luck.

Skill: Stance
While in stance, use normal attack to break a foe's guard from below, and strong attack to slash upwards with a forward lunge.



Notes and Tips:

  • Cannot be Infused, but can be Buffed
  • Reinforced with Twinkling Titanite.
  • Naturally possesses the Blessed infusion HP regen and Faith scaling for physical damage 
    • Does 10% bonus damage vs. reanimated. This weapon, like Blessed Gem weapons and the Blessed Weapon spell, will prevent skeletons from respawning.
    • Regen from Blessed effect is 2 HP / tick. The tick is 2 seconds long at +5.
  • Naturally possesses the Hollow infusion luck scaling physical damage.
    • This weapon has just under 400 AR at the minimum requirements and 40 Luck.
    • While this weapon does scale with Luck, it does not grant bonus luck for being hollowed
  • Because of its very high natural Luck scaling and how it works with the Bleed attribute, applying a Carthus Rouge on this weapon with a high Luck stat will make just about anything and anyone bleed extremely quickly. Here are some examples, all testings done on the Dancer while spamming R1 as fast as possible:
    • With 11 Luck, the Dancer bleeds in 8 hits. With 40 Luck, she bleeds in 5 hits. With 70 Luck, which is the hardcap for the Luck based Bleed bonus (yes, 70 and not 60 like for the other stats), the Dancer bleeds in 4 hits.
  • Because Luck rarely ever contributes towards a weapon's base damage, players who are making Luck builds in NG may want to consider killing Anri as soon as possible to get this weapon, even though it will negatively affect the quest lines of other NPCs.  This choice could also be helpful for the skeletons in  the Catacombs of Carthus, which appear not long after meeting Anri. Getting this weapon will save Luck builds from having to waste resources on faith upgrades just to deal decent damage against skeletons.
  • At 74 STR, 74 DEX, 74 LCK Anri's Straight Sword +5 has 495 AR when onehanded.
  • If you are looking to get this early, for an easy method have 12 faith and equip Force. When you first meet the pair on the Road of Sacrifices, kill the mobs on the bridge and then agro Anri and Horace. Kite them to the bridge.They can be coaxed into following you although they may try to return to the bonfire. Tank one or two of their hits on the bridge and then use force to throw them from the heights. Reload the game and their items will be at the bonfire.

Location/Where to Find

  • Drops from Anri of Astora if killed or if you complete his/her quest line. If you complete Anri's questline, the sword will be given to you by Ludelth of Courland at Firelink Shrine. Note that killing Anri will disrupt Yuria's quest line and cause her to leave.
  • If you married Anri in the Darkmoon tomb, it will be in the same location as the cutscene. Video Example.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X". 
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped. 
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has: Regular(R), Thrust(T), Slash(Sl), Strike(St)

      Looking for an OP straight sword build? Look no further. Keep str & dex at base stats for sword (or whatever it is for your character) pump luck to 40, Faith to at least 50, get lightning blade or DMB, kill people. I personally got bored with it because straight swords, while effective, kinda get boring sometimes. I can tell you that it's the best build for damage on a straightsword if you're keeping your level at 120 or lower. good LUCK ;)

        I think this weapon gives you a higher drop rate for items. I equiped it instead of crystal sages rapier once to help me fight off poisoning in the swamp, along with other healing gear (Red and White shield, Sun Goddess Ring) I had no farming gear on and enemies started dropping items like they'd gone out of style. To test it, I farmed the Darkwraiths before the abyss watchers fight were dropping at the very least three items upon every death. I had Red eyes, Dark armor, along with frequent tongues. Is this a trippy coincidence? I was NG+2 with 15 luck.

          Anyone else think the "earnestly noble figure" the description mentions is possibly Oscar of Astora? (As in the first npc in Dark Souls 1 who gives you the Estus Flask)

            I tested Anri's straight sword+rouge on NG+9 Iudex Gundyr, and he bleeds in 4 hits at 40, 60 and 99 luck, but at 10 luck he bleeds in approximately 7 hits (hard to test since Iudex is moving...)

              Can someone please update the page with something that I found? I found that even if Ludleth is dead and you didn't marry Anri, someone already did when you get to the Darkmoon Tomb and their straight sword is on their body. For reference, I didn't take any Dark Sigils, so I didn't start Yuria's quest line or even have her in my run. I just thought it should be known that you can still get her sword without Ludleth and without marrying her.

                Tbh the nerf only reduced the scaling a bit but didn't really affect those who ran with a luck/faith build with DMB, SO, and DP its AR is still insanely high I'm sitting at 826 could pump it up to 1211 with RTS ring and Morion Blade but that's too risky for me

                  From what I've seen, the nerf to this sword simply reduced the strength and dexterity stats to a hard E scaling. The luck scaling still seems to give an average of 5 AR per luck point.

                      I got the sword from what seemed to be her body in the darkmoon tomb before I even got to Anor Londo.<br/>I'll check tonight to see if her summon sign appears or not.

                        Anri's summon sign wasnt appearing for me (multiple re-loads of the area) so i went ahead and placed the Lord of Cinder ashes; burning Ludleth to ashes. Went to check up on the presence of her summon sign, and it was there. Can't get the sword from Ludleth's lifeless pile. The sword is also not in Darkmoon crypt. I may go check Church of the Deep, lore theories that she and Horace were children "fated" to be eaten by Aldritch. Didnt tell her of Horace's hollowing so she wouldnt know to return to Horace's location.. i just want the ***** sword lol. treasure hunt. probably will check Smouldering Lake anyways. if i dont post here again, it is no where to be found.

                            I've done some testing and I can conclude that this weapon has split damage (despite not luck being a damage type). With 50 luck and less than 20 points on dex or strength, my ar is at 450-ish. But when I hit someone it only deals around 270. Anyone have a reason for such a lack of ar other than it being split damage?

                              I did the quest. I killed Aldrich with her. I went to Ludleth and he is not giving it too me. What gives? Does it matter that I started Yurias quest too or that I didn't go to Ludleth right away? I fought a few more bosses first.
