Anri's Straight Sword is a Weapon in Dark Souls 3.

Sword precious to Anri, another Unkindled. The dullest type of blade found in the ruined land of Astora.

Only, it was once the sword of an earnest noble figure, and its attacks are boosted by that elusive, essential property unique to humans: luck.

Skill: Stance
While in stance, use normal attack to break a foe's guard from below, and strong attack to slash upwards with a forward lunge.

Notes and Tips:

  • Infusable: NO
  • Buffable: YES
  • Reinforced with Twinkling Titanite.
  • All weapons have motion values assigned to each attack, which are modifiers to AR that are associated with the attack being used.
    • The Barbed Straight Sword has a motion value of 200 on backstab, 250 on riposte, and 60+225 on Hornet Ring riposte. The motion value of a backstab with a straight sword does not change with Hornet Ring.
  • Anri's Straight Sword has a range of 34.157xl on the 1h R1 33.5592xl on the 2h R1.
  • Anri's Straight Sword has thrusting R2 attacks.
  • Naturally possesses HP regen and Faith scaling for physical damage.
    • Does 10% bonus damage vs. reanimated. This weapon, like Blessed Gem weapons and the Blessed Weapon spell, will prevent skeletons from respawning.
    • Regen effect is 2 HP / tick. The tick is 2 seconds long at +5.
    • Equipping the sword will instantly tick the health regen, rapidly equipping and unequipping the sword will offer faster health regeneration.
  • Naturally possesses approximately A scaling in Luck.
    • This weapon has just under 400 AR at the minimum requirements and 40 Luck.
    • The weapon is used in some Speedruns for its decent damage and health regeneration exploit.

Location/Where to Find

  • Drops from Anri of Astora if killed or if you complete his/her quest line. If you complete Anri's questline, the sword will be given to you by Ludleth of Courland at Firelink Shrine. Note that killing Anri will disrupt Yuria's quest line and cause her to leave.
  • If you married Anri in the Darkmoon tomb, it will be in the same location as the cutscene.

Can confirm with this and hp regen build at sl120 finished ng3 the game became very easy no point to do ng7 with this build

      • Anonymous

Yeah, the luck scaling is cool and all, but I don’t think y’all understand the sheer power a regen build can get with this. It has innate blessed infusion and can be further buffed with blessed blade. A faith/luck build would be pretty much immortal, as long as you have a shield to hide behind.

There is a glitch that allows you to summon white sign mad phantom in Gael’s Arena (Credit to Dashingsaint), if you keep Shira alived while she invade you (you can escape her simply sprint out her aggro range), you won’t trigger gael boss cutscene, and then you could put down you purple summon white sign or summon other white purple.
Thus, a new fight club is founded, an arena in a long lost dessert under the sunset sky which sprinkle with fainted galaxy.
If you’re watching this, kindly please help me share this and invite any ds3 enthusiast you known to this new fight club, your little effort would be much appreciated.

Scales with faith, does not have a faith requirement. Is a unique version of the Astora straight sword, which has a faith requirement, but does not scale with faith.

              • Anonymous

Why does Fextra always give such awful notes. Instead of saying in a single row that it possesses natural blessed infusion it goes all the way to tell it has HP regen, deals extra damage to reanimated skeletons and prevents reanimated skeletons from resurrecting (and not respawing, the were never spawn out). Why is every person that writes on the pages of this wiki either so illiterate, so idiot, or both?

This weapon is buffable, if buffed with blessed weapon does the healing stack or does one cancel the other?

                  • Anonymous

The only real sell to a luck build. Bleed and poison are gimmicky and don't even benefit all that much from heavy luck investment. Mangrub staff is pointless because you still need Int requirement for the spells. And Hollow gem is worse than the other physical gems on almost all weapons at meta and below. But Anri's is unique, and powerful.

                    • Anonymous

I did some data bullshit on mugen monkey and this straight sword has the highest AR in it's class. At 11 strength, 40 dex lothric knight sword is 393 AR. At 10 strength, 10 dex, and 46 luck you also get 393 AR. HOWEVER, with the stats of 60 strength, dex, and luck. Lothric Knight Sword's AR is 438 AR and Anri's seord is 468.

Long story short Anri's sword beats out any infusion with long swords and it's still buffable.

Does this scale with faith like at all? I'm doing a faith/luck build and scaling faith doesn't seem to improve its damage ever. Is it only until like 30 faith or something?

OMG it's the Astora Straight Sword from you remember back in the lordran times? This is a bangin' sword. For realz, this sword is so good, you can murder everything with it, All that faith scaling excellent, I'll take healing spells and lightning spells. excellent. That luck scaling is amazing as well. you get so much free stuff! You know what scales with luck? Weapon bleed and poison damage! So, given that this amazing Anri sword is later game, hit the cathedral of the deep for the barbed sword - the moveset's the same, and it's hella bleed, bang a poison enchant on it, it's nutso. just swing til it procs, and leave.

Can you get this weapon by not completing anri's questline and just completing yuria's? or so you need to complete anri's to get it

This is your main physical damage source on a luck build. 10 str 12 dex and 40 luck.
Other weapons to use: Blood infused bandit‘s knife and poison infused rotten ghru dagger.
So you have a lot of spare stats for other things.
It performs very well in pve and pvp.
It is just used for enemies immune to bleed and casuls with curved swords. Try Death

scaling for str at +2 is E.

strongest straight sword in very high levels. also can deal some damage purely as luck weapon at lower levels.. more for the meme builds, like luck mage or attempt to bleed builds.

Jonathan, I grant you the word engraved into the sword given to me by my queen, LUCK, and for the future, I grant you this, PLUCK.

Correction for scaling grades, Anri’s Straight Sword will only have D scaling for strength when it reaches +5 prior to that it should be listed as E

It's honestly insane how much this scales with luck, I've tried a hollow build and this weapon always seems to out-perform literally every other weapon

                                        • Anonymous

The sentence "has faith scaling" is misleading. E scaling is really 0 scaling pumping from 10 str to 99 str on an E scaling increases AR by 10% at best. This weapon scales only with luck and even str does really give that much AR. It is primarily a luck weapon and keeps scaling well with luck until 60 luck.

                                          • Anonymous

For people newer to the game:

One of the more unique straight swords in the game, accesable early fight ahri and horace in forest upon meeting them first time. Acquirable via questchain otherwise.
As many mention and point out, has unique luck scaling and passive health regeneration, both seemingly making it appealing pve and new player weapon (considering something like deprived character start). Essentially, a blessed weapon blessed weapon with luck scalling instead of faith. And it is quite good, for those who want to do something other then str/dex.
Shortcomings: Raw damage is suboptimal, not to mention you will be forced to fight 1v2 npcs early on if you want this weapon from the start of the run, wich most people unfamiliar with souls series will struggle. Outside that, increasing your passive item find and option to work into bleed/poison or miracle build is nothing to be shy of. But, there is but. The way bleed/poison build up works in this game might make you disappointed early on (most targets have neglible buildup effects from you spamming attacks (unbuffed katana wont trigger bleed effect outside bossfights for example), unless using infussions/buffs, if you can't be bothered, raw/physical dmg weapons will outparse all bleed/poison options outside of targets being vulnerable to aux effect in mind).

tl;dr faith/str/dex builds have better weapon options, unique blessed/hollow straightsword for luck oriented builds. Luck build (in general) is ok in pve, suboptimal in pvp until very high soul level. Not to mention straightsword range and moveset makes it hard to hit rolling targets.

I did all of the stuff out of order on a play-through, never summoned or assisted Anri, and still found this sword on the Alter in Anor Londo after killing Aldrich and taking to Anri in the church bonfire. So, you can still get this item even if you don't quite follow the guide. However, I did summon Horace for the Cathedral and then killed Horace in the Smoldering Lake.

i just love how this weapon works exactly like original astora's ss from dark souls 1 with it being blessed and all.

why does it say it has bleed damage, im wielding it right now and it doesnt have any bleed damage let alone 100

Running a bleed build with daggers. I've only ever used daggers. Decided to try this weird sword. Am knight now.

i’ve helped kill aldrich with with anri but i’m at the point in the story where ludleth is turned to ash, so i can’t talk to him. can i still get her sword?

                                                      • Anonymous

Idk if anyone mentioned it already, but this can be buffed with blessed weapon for even more faith->physical damage. I also believe the HP regen from the blessed spell stacks with the innate HP regen in the weapon. Faith builds can pair with a blessed weapon, a second Anri SS (perhaps buffed with lightning resin), or a blessed shield. The DLC ethereal oak shield would be great. Then you use the HP regen ring and if you need it, the weapon art from the chimes that gives a cheap heal over time.

This build can be about as hp/fp efficient as it gets. Just turn your flasks into mostly or all Ashen, and use your chime heals. The filianore chime WA heal actually stacks with the other chime WA heals and doesn’t need to be kept in the hand. These are much better for healing as long as you don’t need rapid healing. They use less FP and are faster to cast than any of the heal spells, which are more efficient when healing multiple people at once.
Certain weapons actually scale well enough from faith that you could do min weapon stats and full faith plus somebody miracles with this build.
So this weapon is good for cleric-casters, tank paladins, and hybrid cleric/paladins.

If you're using this to farm covenant items, pump luck to 99, make sure dex is at 10, then dump the rest into strength. Even in this glass cannon state, I can reliably farm Silver Knights.

Very good weapon. It scales mostly of luck but also from str, dex and faith. This is my go-to weapon for my bleed-poison build. For PVP i use a poison infused ghru dagger and a blood infused bandit's knife. Anri's straigth sword is mainly a back-up weapon for over aggressive players using straight swords and curved swords users but also for bosses immune to poison and bleed. It also regenerates 2HP per second and skeletons which would resurrect stay dead and does 10% extra damage to undead enemies. A luck build is very stat efficient. With 50 luck and 12 str and dex you should have around 400 AR and many spare levels to put elsewhere. I hope i see more luck builds in the future, the build variety has really declined over the years.

                                                                • Anonymous

the description refers to this blade as "dull" so it would do strike damage right? NO, ***** YOU, IT DOES SLASH, meanwhile the EXECUTIONERS GREATSWORD (which keep in mind is for EXECUTIONS) does STRIKE DAMAGE, which is PHYSICALLY IMPOSSIBLE

                                                                  • Anonymous

Awesome physical scaling for us masochists who still like to try to make bleed a thing, buffable, Carthus Rogue-able, a beautiful, simple design, and a compelling backstory. Minimaxers should look elsewhere, but all in all, a very enjoyable weapon.

                                                                    • Anonymous

Still very strong considering you only need one stat to unleash its full potential as opposed to quality builds who need to balance dex & strenght. But it seems to outclass most other straightswords and you dont even need to infuse it. I will use it during a NG+7 playtrough in order to properly test it. And its the successor of good ole oscars astora straight sword so.....and we dont talk about the impostor astora straight sword.

                                                                      • Anonymous

So this sword is for luck builds, it's both blessed and hollowed. It scales almost exclusively with luck and maybe just slightly with str. And on top of that it can be buffed so you may use another blessed buff to further increase stacking or use a carthus rouge. This is easily, the strongest non infusable straight sword in the game! It is on parr with gotthard twin sword, ringed knight sword and lothric straight sword. The only thing that doesn't allow one to be better than the other is that 1 is dual wielded and does about 1.5x dmg /hit than others, one has a fantastic fire WA that covers good area, one is anri the ungoldy buffed sword and then of course lothric sword the perfect infusable sword. These are top 5 weapons of ds3 alone the top 1 is probably twin prince greatsword.

                                                                        • Anonymous

I have it, but it does not have any bleed. why do the summary at the topleft of the page show 100 bleed, while the upgrades show none ?

                                                                          • Hey wasn't it always like this: the elite knight set is stronger than the normal knight set? Or almost the same but not so heavy? I don't remember in ds1 was it one of my fav armor sets. Cause it wasn't so heavy and had good phys resistance and good elemental resistance. Especially for its weight. Now it's not so heavy than the normal knight set (i think it was the same in ds1) but weaker about 1-2 points in every section. Only the elemental resistance is a bit better - except fire (almost the same) Poison, curse and freeze is almost the same, only bleed is 20 points better at the elite) Now I'm a bit disappointed.. But maybe I remember wrong. And now I have higher stats so I can wear better armor. (mix between black Knight and normal knight helmet and gloves) - fashion always counts ;) As beginner and early set would be great. Or later as light roll set (but okay there you need high stats) But in first run - it's only really good if you kill anri at the first time you see her, otherwise it isn't soo good. Except you use gs and don't have high stats, for example atm I have 18, and I can use hollowslayer and full elite set (doesn't compare so much cause I don't prefer to play gs but I think it is the best atm) - so it's good. Otherwise - meh

                                                                            • Anonymous

Damn it, I finished the questline but forgot to pick up the sword from Ludleth, so now after 6 or so hours I remembered, but at this point Ludleth is a happy pile of burned ash.... Now I'm stuck without the sword, and hollowed Anri won't spawn, so no elite knight set for me. Damn you FromSoft

                                                                              • Anonymous

                                                                                • Anonymous

                                                                                  • Anonymous

You can stack Blessed Weapon, the spell, on this.
Somehow turns a 259 R1 on a skeleman into a 341 RI on the same skeleman. Even assuming the blessed weapon miracle has an innate damage bonus against skeletons that is never said on the wiki, that is way too far to even come close to covering that gap. I am not the best at math, even to the point where I mistakenly thought both Anri's sword AND the spell provided a +20% against skeletons in addition to the 7.5% from the spell, even though the wiki says the spell provides no such skele bonus, and it still didn't manage to close the gap.
                                                                                    What even. Help me.

                                                                                    • Anonymous

If you're looking to get the most possible HP regen, don't use this sword. It's a great weapon but +10 Anri's Straight Sword actually heals less than a +10 Blessed infused weapon. Anri's straight sword heals 2hp every 2 seconds. A blessed infused weapon heals 3hp every 1.6 seconds. It's a very small difference yes, but if you're looking for the most possible regen, then it's better to go with a different weapon.

                                                                                      • Anonymous

So this weapon has both blessed and hollow infusions naturally wow! And a dmg that doesnt stink like regular blessed infusions wow!

                                                                                        • Anonymous

Another good strategy for getting this early is to focus on Horace. Once he is dead, Anri will collapse to her/his knees and won't attack. I had traded blows with Horace to both our demise and Anri was still at the bonfire when I respawned. I had rested at the bonfire before challenging them first, so take that into consideration.

                                                                                          • Anonymous

Kind of hard to do this if you're keeping your level under 125. I think the wiki assumes people level nonstop. So many of its entries give stats that are unobtainable to everyone who stays low level for pvp or pve co-op with random people.

                                                                                              • Anonymous

                                                                                                • Anonymous

If you're looking to bleed dancer for an easy solo, best to use a blood barbed sword. I find that @ 40 luck/99H, the blood barbed sword does dependable bleed and kills dancer in the same/similar amount of time in NG++++ (Where I'm at now) as it did in NG (Usually down in 30-45 seconds).

In my quest to level 802, I started Health, Stamina and Luck @ 40. Followed by Faith. I currently run a Poison Ghru Dagger, Blood Barbed Sword, and a Hollow Spiked Mace.

I don't use the Bandit's Knife or other quick-attacking bleed daggers because of the range and you can't backstab dancer.

                                                                                                  • Anonymous

This is a fun gimmick weapon with bonus points for fashion souls, but even at SL 802 with everything 99, even buffed, you're better off using a Longsword.

                                                                                                    • I feel like this would be really good in a Faith+Luck build when paired with Dark Blade, seeing as it's one of a select few unique weapons that can be buffed and at least gets a little extra juice out of the faith investment needed for the spell. Plus, you can add on Deep Protection as well to become a bit tankier and get even more value out of the health regen. Plus, despite being dark miracles, neither scales off of the special dark catalysts so you can toss in a Saint-tree Bellvine or some other chime or talisman of your choice.

                                                                                                      • Anonymous

                                                                                                        • Anonymous

Keep str & dex at base stats for sword (or whatever it is for your character) pump luck to 40, Faith to at least 50, get lightning blade or DMB, kill people. I personally got bored with it because straight swords, while effective, kinda get boring sometimes. I can tell you that it's the best build for damage on a straightsword if you're keeping your level at 120 or lower. good LUCK ;)

I equiped it instead of crystal sages rapier once to help me fight off poisoning in the swamp, along with other healing gear (Red and White shield, Sun Goddess Ring) I had no farming gear on and enemies started dropping items like they'd gone out of style. To test it, I farmed the Darkwraiths before the abyss watchers fight were dropping at the very least three items upon every death. I had Red eyes, Dark armor, along with frequent tongues. Is this a trippy coincidence? I was NG+2 with 15 luck.
