Bloodlust is a Weapon in Dark Souls 3.



Katana of the old Mound-maker.

The Mound-maker piled sacrifices upon the altar, but became the final offering himself, leaving this katana as a gift for his dear family.

Skill: Bloodlust
Stain blade with one’s own blood to temporarily grant uncanny sharpness. For one driven by bloodlust, nothing deserves to remain standing.



Notes and Tips:

  • Cannot be Infused but can be Buffed by using the Weapon Art. 
  • Upgraded with Twinkling Titanite.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X". 
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped. 
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has: Regular(R), Thrust(T), Slash(Sl), Strike(St)

      If you manage to stab an enemy though your back you will do massive damage, I accidently hit the firekeeper while only having 12 dex and hit for 800 damage, then went out and tested it on some hollows for 500+ per hit

        After doing some testing on dancer, it seems the WA add between 20 and 30 additional bleed (and a AR bonus but we already know that)

          So the weapon skill does damage? Apparently pulling it out your chest will allow it to do damage should the target be close enough.

            tbh I find the uchigatana a much better scaling bleed weapon, even late game. I've only had it break/go at risk once, and thats its only real downside. All the other katanas seem to fill more spefic roles, but this one is kind of just a worse version of uchi.

              Guys in the patch notes the AR bug was fixed. The AR buff will give the Bloodlust a heft AR% increase along with faster bleed buildup. It is more than viable, with high luck/vigor builds especially.

                Just want to say that this weapon is trash as of patch 1.15, tried it out for a bit with 40 dex 50 luck and could not bleed anyone to save my life, hitting people 6 or 7 times and no proc what a shame

                  Tried Bloodlust +5 on the hollows in front of Firelink, 40 dex, 18 str, 7 luck (if it's any use).

                  Sleeping hollows:
                  unbuffed - 310 damage
                  buffed - 433 damage

                  Not sleeping hollows:
                  unbuffed - 310 damage
                  buffed - 433 damage

                    Just found out if you wield the Bloodlust in your offhand then dual wield it and use the weapon art. When you go back to wielding both weapons they both will have the extra bleed effect applied.

                      To any farmer: farming would be faster if the host suicide (like with bloodlust) instead of waiting to be killed.

                        can confirm i gain 115 ar with the WA only when held in the offhand. the patchnotes only say it increased bleeding power it didnt say anything about removing the attack power so this is indeed a bug.

                          Why are people saying that the WA does not increase the AR anymore? I downloaded the patch and it did so like always.

                            As of patch 1.14, buff no longer increases weapons ar. Instead it causes more bleed build-up per hit. Tested on Fire Keeper with +0 Bloodlust (20 STR, 25 DEX ) on ng+++:
                            No buff: 4 r1s to bleed (very close to being 5 hits)
                            With buff: 3 r1s to bleed
