Art of the Flame of Chaos, from Ancient Izalith. Erects multiple chaos fire pillars in vicinity.

Chaotic flame melts even great boulders, and creates a brief surge of molten lava on impact.

The all-engulfing Chaos Flame eventually formed a tumultuous seedbed, which birthed the twisted things known as Demons.

Notes

  • Deals (spell buff x 1.95) damage per pillar and (spell buff x 0.9) damage for the lava.
  • Uses 3 FP 19 times and ~120 stamina to cast.
  • Can still be cast if you have less than 55 FP for fewer fire pillars, but still uses the full stamina cost.
  • This may be the only viable Storm-type spell, as Fire Storm and Divine Pillars of Light are easy to dodge and leave the caster quite vulnerable.

A change to make this spell useful would be to inflict the promised walk of peace effect when your character crouches and fire starts bursting out. The enemy would be slowed down, unable to roll and would be forced to block the 1 pillar that does hit them.

Suggested PvP strategy: get this and Seething Chaos, throw a Seething Chaos near your feet to ward of backstabbers then case firestorm.

If you’re lucky they’ll either roll out of the SC into the Firestorm or out of the Firestorm and into the SC.

And if you’re REALLY lucky, they’ll get hit by the Firestorm into the SC.

A far cry from the mighty Fire Storm spells of DS1 and DS2. Its casting time is too long, it receives no support from the poise system, its damage is lower, and it doesn't fill up narrow corridors or bridges like it used to. A hard pass, but a sad one.

Spells like this, soul stream... Everything slow but big go from meh to omfg lol in brawls... So many variables.. try to line up Los on multiple people and let the BS fly...

Like Gravelord Nito in the first game, only instead of having a sword destroy you balls it's a pillar of fire.

Stick to black flame and cbv if you can't time past a moment.. this and even sacred flame take true perception in PvP.. ever pancake someone then start casting this?? JS...

Amazing spell if used to hide behind something. For example, the pillars on kiln of first flame (pvp). Works quite well as the majority of players come for you. And as they do, they get a taste of fiery pillars up their ass.

For those of you that have played Metal Gear Rising you'll know who Senator Armstrong is and I was thinking of making a build around him does anybody have any ideas on what stats I should have

This can be somewhat decent when paired with Iron Flesh, but even then its uses are situational at best. I've only really used it on Deacons for shits and giggles.

So i tried to use this pyromancy yesterday. I tried puting it into an attunement slot but it didn't let me. Are there any requirements for attuning this spell?

I find it a bit odd that the game naturally gives you access to this spell before the regular version. I mean, I guess it is in an optional area, but Karla is also an optional NPC. It also sells for less than the regular version.Usually it's the other way around... the more damaging, fancier, extra-effect creating, possibly less efficient spells typically come later and at greater cost, but the firestorm spells are the other way around. Not that they're really super useful to begin with or anything, but I don't think players would be all excited about getting the regular version of firestorm when they already had one that put a bunch of lava on the ground already.

You owe it to yourself to go and test this in the deacons of the deep bossfight, launching 15 fat deacons in the air is just absolutely beautiful

Run behind anyone, and pray that their reaction time + camaera rotation is slower than your cast time, and watch them launch up.

Can you hold the trigger down until you run out of fp or are there limitations? How does this spell work differently from the past?

                                  • And chaos fireball, it leaves lava on the ground even if it doesn't hit an enemy and with both pyro rings equipped it his for 200-400 than if they don't leave the lava spot they take another 70-300dmg
