Full Consumed King's Garden Walkthrough

This area can be accessed after defeating Dancer of the Boreal Valley and unlocking Lothric Castle via the ladder. If you head left before entering Lothric Castle proper you will reach the area.

Looting the Toxic Swamp

Head down the staircase (grab an Item to the right) to come to a  Cathedral Knight, similar to the ones in Cathedral of the Deep. Defeat it and enter the room to its right and take the lift down & roll out to a landing leading 1/2 way down. Exit the lift and head right down the stairs to find an Estus Shard 1x. If you head left, you can drop down to a narrow staircase with a Titanite Chunk 1x. The staircase leads down to a toxic mist area where a Pus of Man beast patrols. Like others encountered prior, it is weak to fire. Defeat it and explore the surrounding toxic area for a Claw, the Shadow Set, Black Firebomb 2x, Human Pine Resin 1x, Titanite Chunk 1x (up staircase), Ring of Sacrifice, Dark Gem 1x. There will be several slugs and Pus of Man beasts in this mist swamp so be cautious when exploring.

There is a doorway here you can take inside. It can be identified by moldy growth on the stairs leading up to it, and a dark beast lurking to its left. Head inside the doorway to find a lift. Take the lift to the top and exit to the outside. Proceed sraight through the doorway across the courtyard and enter. Straight ahead you will find a corpse against a wall with a Titanite Scale 1x. Head up the stairs in this room to encounter some thralls. Take the next staircase up to find a body with Titanite Chunk 1x. Open the door to the right of this corpse to unlock a shortcut to Lothric Castle.

From Shortcut to Hawkwood

Return to the lift and take it down. Around halfway down you will be able to roll off to a ledge where you can exit the tower to the outside. Take the stairs down to find a corpse with the Dragonscale Ring. Proceed forward to find an enemy hollow on your left. Down in the next area you will find two iron knights, who can safely be sniped with a bow from this ledge. One will drop the Magic Stoneplate Ring. Head up the stairs on the right and proceed ahead and down the stairs to come to the fog where you will take on the area boss, Oceiros, the Consumed King. If you head the other direction, you can find Hawkwood the Deserter's summon sign while in Ember Form, just up the stairs. He's a melee fighter that can tank Oceiros fairly well if you're a magic user.

Acquiring the Path of the Dragon Gesture

After defeating him, light the BonfireStep forward and open the double doors. Take the hallway down to encounter a wrapped enemy that can extend an appendage from their head. Enter the room and where you will find a vessel straight ahead and a corpse with Path of the Dragon Gesture on it. This gesture will gain you access to Archdragon Peak. Once you've defeated a summoned Drakeblood Knight in Archdragon Peak, you can find the Drakeblood Set where the gesture was. A chest on your left contains a Titanite Scale 1x.  Head into the upper section of this room to find a chest straight ahead. Loot it for a Titanite Scale 1x. Attack the wall behind the chest to reveal an Illusory Wall. Proceed ahead to light the bonfire and discover the Untended Graves.

"It can be identified by moldy growth on the stairs leading up to it, and a dark beast lurking to its left." You mean a Pus of Man? (an enemy that you have already mentioned 1 of in this area, there are 3 in total.
"Take the hallway down to encounter a wrapped enemy that can extend an appendage from their head." You mean a Serpent Man, later found in Archdragon Peak.

Poor walkthrough, but what’s to be expected of fextralife. As of jul18 2023, they missed a 4th titanite chunk on the right side of the courtyard where hawkwood summon sign is, opposite the chunk up the staircase. You have to drop down. When going into the lift room, before going in, it’s to the left.

Easiest way of dealing with this area is spam rapport. Works on both the knights and pus of man. None of them attacked each other on my play through besides a pus killing some slugs, but they'll just stand there and take hits for 30 seconds. Use fire weapon and pus die before spell wears off. I'm a quality/str build, but so glad i lvl'd INT to 15 for this spell alone. A cheap area deserves a cheap tactic lol

"Take the hallway down to encounter a wrapped enemy that can extend an appendage from their head." ...that would be a man-serpent and that "appendage from their head" ...is their head. They were much more formidable in Sen's Fortress (DS1)

I dont know why everyone says hawkwood is crap, he really helps because of his high HP and has pretty good damage output overall.

              • Leave it to FromSoftware to make a once-lush private garden into a toxic hellhole. Still gotta kill and collect everything, though, so....
                Time for a lovely stroll...

Is this area New Londo? Not in a VaatiVidya, reading brick piles, lore kinda way but in a design kinda way. I mean in a design kinda way. It's a short, overly damp area with nasty humanity monsters and a boss whose royalty but not really good at the whole royalty thing. Plus, there's no bonfires in either area with one major shortcut to circumvent most of this.

Well hawkwood would be nice to have summoned if my stupid self didn't roll into him with thorns set and made him agro mistake were made.

So... I can't figure out how to get the lift back up after rolling off of the lift, killing one PoM beast, then homeward bone'd out to go attune Chaos Bed Vestiges and Rapport. It could be that I haven't got good enough.

Lets go in the garden, you'll find something waiting~ Right there where you left it, lying upside down~ When you finally find it, you'll see how its faded, the underside is lighter when you turn it around~ EVERYTHING STAYS, right where you left it, everything stays, but it still changes~ Ever so slightly, daily and nightly, in little ways, when everything stays.~

The area boss was pretty cool but a joke in difficulty. I am just a decent gamer and took almost no hits :-O

You don't have to clear the Consumed King's Garden to unlock Archdragon Peaks. I was able to get to the Peaks and kill the Nameless King without even getting to Yhorm the Giant.

Probably the most dangerous area in the game. 90 percent of the place is toxic, cathedral knights and pus of man galore, and to top it all off probably the most disturbing boss in the game

The Abyss Watchers knew about the Pus of Man enemies... They would bury that entire garden even without us having to take a single step in...
