Corvian Enemy Description

  • Winged fiend protecting the Road of Sacrifices. Player may also meet few of them before entering Ariandel's Chapel (Ashes of Ariandel DLC), after entering Farron's Keep and Untended Graves and at Irithyll of the Boreal Valley. There is also a large group of them at the Grand Archives.
  • There are 2 variants: Corvian Greatknife and Great Corvian Scythe. They drop these weapons.
  • There are also red-eyed versions that are more powerful.

Corvian Combat Information

  • Have 359 HP
  • Corvians behave cowardly until they sprout wings. Once their wings are fully formed they will attack relentlessly.
  • It's best to take them down quickly while they are transforming.
  • Some are found sleeping. These can be woken up by attacking them or having a Corvian Storyteller screech.
  • Can be lured?
  • Can be parried.
  • Are affected by Rapport.
  • Are affected by Poison, Toxic, and Bleed.

Corvian Notes & Trivia

  • Appear to be related to the Crow People of the Painted World (DS1), and by extension Velka and Crossbreed Priscilla. The descriptions on Corvian Scythe and Storyteller's Staff further the connection.
  • Their name is derived from corvus, the Latin word for "crow".
  • Corvians met in Painted World of Ariandel attacks only, when provoked.

Upgraded Wizard of Oz flying monkeys. Kinda. I hate these unpredictable things once they've opened their wings. Take them one at a time, and be more aggressive than they are.

Fighting these in NG: literal trash mob, haven't even seen their attacks. Encountering them in NG+: multiple overlapping stages of grief, reevaluating opinion of Dark Souls 3, questioning time spent on video games, existential crisis

If you're not looking to fight them, approach slowly, at a staggered walking pace. They are cowardly before their transformation and will slowly back away from the player. Once they transform, its better to just run away if you've attracted several of them. They seem to lose interest in pursuit quite quickly, and there are plenty of corners, trees etc.. to break line of sight with in the areas they're found.

My god these things are the worst. The huge group on the rooftops of the Grand Archives are just horrendous. It's just never ending stun locking with non stop hits and you cannot possibly make enough room from them to heal because they are CONSTANTLY right on top of you. And of course they have to have that awful screech just to make them even worse.

Some of the most annoying enemies I've seen so far. Insufferable screeching literally the instant they're aggroed, like Pus of Man and the Wyvern didn't destroy your ears enough already.

These guys are up there with demon clerics on my "enemies I look forward to skipping on every NG cycle" list.

I would like to note: Corvians do not count as hollows for the Hollowslayer Greatsword. Tested alongside the Black Knight Sword. Both close in AR, with BKS having a slight lead. Hollowslayer did not pull ahead while attacking.

FromSoft, I know you're trying something different here, but damaging my eardrums instead of my in-game character is not very nice. Please give these guys some sedatives, their seizures are annoying.

Don't be afraid to rush groups of them on the road early game. They take a while to transform and the mages are useless in combat. You can easily kill 2 in the time it takes one to grow wings. Don't get greedy with the large group near the bonfire with anri+horace though

Trying to get the scythe, I've rested like 20 times now, and I have 7 great knives, and one staff from the *two* staff guys. I've gotten two shriving stones, and STILL no scythe. This is horrendous.

Why the ***** is there a Kingdom Hearts ad on this page? I came here to read about a good game and not look at that bull*****

                          • Anonymous

I've been farming them for 8 hours a day for the last two weeks and their wings refuse to drop! I'm wearing the gold ring, helm, two rapiers and gold coins. What Am I doing wrong??? I really want to fly. are their wings a rare drop or what?

the soul of cinder can learn a few things from these enemies. just flail around like a fucking dipshit and stunlock everything. ez.

Having to deal with you stunlocking me to death, ok. Having you guys in packs, sure.

But when I have to deal with you twats screeching like no tomorrow, can you *****in' not?

                                • Anonymous

These bird things are so ***** annoying! They act like they ate a million bottles of steroids and a million bags of cocaine! ***** these guys ***** them all!!!

                                  • Anonymous

The name implies the are an inherently bird-people hybrid of human and corvid (corvidae being a family of very intelligent birds including ravens, magpies, jays, and most notably for dark souls, crows). Therefore, there's pretty much no doubt that these creatures have some connection to the crow people of the previous games, and by possible extension, some relation to the goddess of sin, Velka.

Tried using barbed straight sword on them, about 3 hits cause heavy bleeding damage. Makes short work of em'!

Nearly impossible to land hits without sucking in tons of damage on melee builds, drop no good items AND yield nearly no souls.4/10 too fluffy - Ign
