Dancer's Enchanted Swords is a Weapon in Dark Souls 3.



Paired enchanted swords that Pontiff Sulyvahn bestowed upon the Dancer of the Boreal Valley. These blades, symbollic of the Dancer's vows, are enchanted with dark magic in the right hand, and fire in the left, mirroring the Pontiff.

Skill: Dancer's Grace
Unleash the fury of both blades in a dancing spin motion and use strong attack to continue the performance until stamina is exhausted. 



Notes and Tips:

  • Cannot be Buffed or Infused.
  • Reinforced with Titanite Scale.
  • 1-handed attack uses Falchion moveset, rather than Scimitar.
  • Investing in Strength provides 30% less AR than dexterity.
  • Investing in Intelligence will raise both magic and fire damage.
  • The right blade only deals physical and magic damage.
  • The left blade only deals physical and fire damage.
    • This blade always has more damage than the magic one.
  • The stat screen displays all damage types once.
  • Strength and Dexterity increase Physical, Magical and Fire damage, Intelligence increases Magical and Fire, Faith only increases Fire.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X". 
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped. 
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has: Regular(R), Thrust(T), Slash(Sl), Strike(St)

      Can anyone explain why the L2 + R2 combo only does around 200 dmg? Character sheet reads 621 damage yet the combo hits 10 times and does not even do half the dmg of a single strike from any other weapon. Like what's the point of the special, just look cool?

        in my specific case, i only care about PVE since i play offline, i don't need the most efficient weapons out there and i have a full quality build of str/dex/faith/int. they are a fun and very cool weapon to use, i love the flame/magic aesthetic. they do what you need a light weapon to do which is to attack quickly and do enough damage (i do around 200-300 per right click, right click being when i'm swinging both swords at the same time) the comments nearly scared me off but as upgrading weapons in ds3 is easier than the rest of the souls games, i tried it out and i didn't regret it. of course, may differ for you but that is my opinion.

          they look cool but there is no reason to use them when you have Sellsword twinblades
          The problem isn't even the damage, but the very slow moveset. Makes you very vulnerable.
          L2 is nice for staggering opponents but Sellsword twinblades do it even better with L2 + R2
          I keep them for optics but that's all. Very sad

            So i used these and, they don't suck? Damage was good, slower but better range and sweeps than other paired swords, and don't let the d/d for str/dex fool you, they up the damage for elements as well, not just physical. The only bad thing is the weapon art, which is truly a waste of fp. I defeated all bosses with these, and apart from midir and gravetender, ran into little to no resistance.

              I vividly remember beating this boss the first time. I was 100% sure I was going to use that what The Dancer was wielding. But you get the plastic swords instead. Only " usuable" on very high level imo, but that counts for every weapon in the game.

                I wanted to like this weapon and even the damage wasn't a deal breaker, but rather the moveset doesn't feel as fluid as the Warden or Sellsword. Feels a bit clunky and slow for it's class.

                  Sometimes I think weapons like these are more for ng+ or later as you gain more souls. Eventually, you will get the souls you need to make these shine at their fullest potential, but only if you work for it and are willing to ignore pvp meta (takes sl 250+ to make these do some serious damage)

                  I suppose with all that, that DOES make them bad, but hey, if you don't care about pvp and got the stats for it, they do great damage and are fun to swing around.

                    Giving a boss weapon D scaling is basically the devs saying "screw you." God forbid someone wants to use soemthing besides a straight sword or an ultra greatsword. Oh no, can't have that.

                      Tbh this weapon encapsulates everything wrong with ds3’s weapon sandbox. There’s almost no unique or interesting weapons apart from boss weapons, and ones that are unique often are very poor In damage and performance. Ds2 for all its faults had an incredible sandbox. Come on fromsoft

                        Too short for its class, has split damage, has low scaling, hard to upgrade and there is no possible situation where a dark infused Follower sabre won't be better.
                        But it's still extremely unique and fun to use. On a 22-22-30-30 dark build, it has over 600 AR. Not a gank destroyer by any means, but it's very fun to mess around with it in duesl.

                          Scaling is D across the board, but str/dex have a high D, pretty close to C, while int/fth are low D, so it's better on 40/40 quality builds if ya wanna be at meta level

                                I want to do a run with these. No PvP, just a Classic playthrough and i could need some help. In which stats should i Invest If I want to use them effectively? Is investing in the split damage worth it? And should i get a backup weapon? Would appreciate some advice.

                                  After continued efforts to use these at meta PvP, I have concluded that they're not so bad. 40/40 Str/dex, you don't get enough out of int/fth. The weapon art is good for exactly one situation, and that's chewing through someone with very low HP but Tears on. These are not Sellswords, you can't just mash L1 and expect results. R1 L1 R1 seems to work best as a bread and butter combo. It's tempting to go for the third L1 but the downtime is just too long, especially if you miss. And again, these aren't really going to do anything that Sellswords with resins can't do better, except look really cool

                                        I am honest with you guys this Weapon is extremely complicated but as far as i see it from a different point of view its similar to the pontiff's blades like the one that scales off Intelligence and the one that scales off based on your strength at +1 and then +5 its c/c strength and dexterity but these Blades are dual curved swords which means its better to not focus on strength this time but more on dexterity. Hit the requirements and then go for an Int/dex build 40/40 and also don't forget to maximum upgrade this Weapon for max potential. I need to test it out myself but i am pretty sure that these dual curved swords are BIEST.

                                          I kept getting invaded by someone using these, if I got hit one time I got WAd and stunlocked to death. Which is strange because when I use them the WA deals maybe 30 damage a hit. This guy was shredding through heavy armor and a 40 vig health bar with one L1 and three or four WA spins.

                                              Okay so despite how the scaling/stat requirements look, this weapon should be treated as a quality weapon. 40 Strength 40 Dex, use Int as a dump stat since it increases the non-physical damage on these (faith only increases the fire damage, int increases both) Don't worry about getting high Int or Faith, it barely gains any extra AR from these stats (Calculated 40 faith, only gains 37 more AR from 9. 40 Int gives it 75 more AR because Int increases both of the scaling damages)

                                              My build for these (Warrior Starting Class): 43 vigor / 35 Endurace / 40 Strength / 40 Dexterity / 19 Int (Any stat not mentioned is base). Rings: Life Ring +3, Ring of Favor +3, Prisoner's Chain, and then whatever else you want.

                                              Okay now here's the combos and techs with this weapon: R1 true combos into the WA. L1 true combos into the R2, and then the R2 resets your L1 combo so you can follow up with another L1 for an attempted roll catch (actually somewhat consistent) and like I said before the R2 resets your L1, so if you roll catch with the L1 then you get the "first-hit hitstun" which allows you to combo into another R2 or R1.

                                              Solid B tier weapon. Not meta but I think the community gives these weapons a lot of undeserved crap

                                                It is worth to try killing the Dancer very early to have fun with these at the start of your playthrough. If you dare to kill Orbeck early it also rocks with Morion's Blade and Blue Tearstone Ring. Remember, that ring pecs also for damage that WOULD take you to less than 20% of your health.

                                                    This is a very odd weapon, and imho not worth the soul. Before getting into why, i get it's difficult to use and understand. But it has more negative than positive results in the majority of situations, from others experience and my own.

                                                    First of all, the ar is high on paper, but the game only shows you the total ar. It has the same split damage problem than friede's great scythe: you will never deal the 3 damage types at once. The true damage is either phys + magic or phys + fire on each hit, and the listed extra fire/magic damage shown in the menu just disappears from the math. The true ar of this weapon comes by removing one of the listed elements, wich would be around -250 ar. (taken from the sum of both blades). The rather low scaling aggravates the situation.

                                                    Then comes flat defense and absorption. The reason behind this weapon being good in pvp is because almost nobody levels up vitality and many ppl lacks at least 1 piece of armor for "fashion souls". Those who actually levels up vit and wear full armor has a respectable amount of flat defense, wich is effective against chip damage from weapons with split damage. This weapon suffers greatly against flat defense, as none of it's damage types is high enough to surpass flat defense unless maxed out to +5. Then absorption adds insult to injury to wathever manages to go through flat defense. Unless it's dark damage, wich is the only good element against absorption in this case thanks to it's innate bonus against players.

                                                    Second, there is the moveset. In my experience it has the same problem as the drang twin hammers: too slow for a dual weapon and too predictable for anyone who fights against it. Even the r1 has a low startup. You would expect this from heavier weapons that gets hyper armor to compensate for this flaw, but the dancer twinblades has none to speak of except for the weapon art's. Catching someone with a wa combo is just a lottery, regardless of how you play. If you manage to catch someone, you might deal some damage with the combined blades's dps, but don't expect to perform the same tricks twice.

                                                    That's about it. Imo, you have a better weapon right at the start of the game and better choices of dual weapons as you progress. Only use this if you re that much into fashion, but don't get your hopes up trying to beat a hard enemy with this.

                                                      45, dex, faith, str, int and it has an ACTUAL ar of 234 bcuz it shows to have a high ar bcuz of the dark and fire dmg when really its actual ar is 234. Plz no dislike I thought this would be useful i didnt mean to come across as toxic or an elitist:(

                                                      • I left a comment before singing this weapon's praises, but I left one thing out because I just simply wasn't aware of it until I'd used them more. But these things require such a low amount of stamina to use properly. I've seen multiple people complain about how much stamina they cost to swing but it just doesn't matter in PvP. I was at SL125 endurance (23 with chain) and that was easily enough stamina to pull off the true combo, you don't need high stamina with these, you just need to know how to manage your stamina well and you can pump all of the excess levels into offence. I get 705 AR at SL125 because of this (40STR 40DEX 40INT) which is more than my Greatsword of Judgement on the same build.

                                                        • I'm glad this weapon is getting a bit more love now in 2021, as more people have been caught off guard by those who use it well and are aware of just how much damage the L1 + L2 + Tap R2 true combo does. For those who are not in on it, this weapons L1 causes just as many stagger frames when you hit a player as an Ultra Greatsword, making it capable of not only knocking people out of greatsword R1s, but true comboing into the weapon art afterwards. I can do more than 50% of a SL 100 phantom's health with this combo, it's not gonna break the game when sellsword twinblades are a thing but it catches people off guard. Only been using them for a few days but over a good number of fights I've only lost once, and it was to PvE more than PvP. Multiple phantoms just didn't heal while at half health, and then they died to unexpected damage. These weapons are NOT bad, in fact I think I'll go as far as to say they're good weapons. They take skill to use properly and they're suboptimal, but people don't know how to fight them because they're never seen in the wild. And that is not something to be underestimated. It has a weird stat scaling so I'd go use soulsplanner if you want to use them, but I believe I had 35 strength and 40 dexterity at the time.

                                                            since i havent seen a single comment saying this, this weapon has an incorrect ar. The way the game calculates ar is by adding up each damage type, so for this weapon it adds up the slash, fire and magic damage. But each weapon only deals 2 of these 3 damage types so in reality the ar of the weapon is roughly 2/3 of the displayed value, to work out the true ar you could use mugenmonkey or soulsplanner then do physical damage + (fire damage + magic damage)/2, but the point is people flexing how stupidly high the ar is are completely wrong and the people who rip into split damage and use this weapon as an example are equally wrong

                                                            • I like how the comments have no idea what the they’re on about half the time. The Dancer’s Swords are a PvP oriented, “gimmick” weapon. They benefit greatly from the Pontiff rings, Carthus Beacon etc. and are all about the weapon art. The whole point of this weapon is to lock someone in with the weapon art and literally chop them up like a blender. There are several YouTube videos of people doing very well with these weapons.

                                                              The main issues are a general lack of knowledge on the player’s part most times. The only real drawback these weapons have, as far as PvP is concerned, are their weight and speed. As for PvE, everything is viable. People have played through the game with daggers at level one, and played through with broken straight swords. It’s like how everyone rips on miracle builds, until they take a lightning stake to the face.

They have tripple split damage that requires absurd stat investments to get less damage than other twinblades. Yes they are purdy, but damn what a waste.. These could have been something special.

                                                                    You know, I've seen for years people calling these weapons trash, but I think they're just deceptive. With the right build you can get about 750 AR or more while having a pretty unique move set. Is there more meta options out there, sure, however I don't think that should discourage you from giving this things a try. Funny enough the pontiff's right eye makes these things way more bearable and it gives you a little boreal valley flavor at the same time :)

                                                                      For people who are good at measuring the max reach of a weapon, backstepping out of someone's range and pressing L1 both looks cool and has a pretty high chance of connecting because of the insane distance the backstep L1 covers... Unless someone's using any weapon with hyper armor and follows up with another attack, then you'll just charge straight into damage.

                                                                          compared to sellswords, its more stat investment to reach a higher AR, but the damage is split so it deals a lot less damage. I wanted to do a new game cycle with this, had to pivot to sellswords cause it had 100 less damage on bosses that didn't even resist slash/magic/fire.

                                                                          i.e. fighting Friede, Dancer's has 300 more AR exactly than Refined Sellswords, but if i two hand attack for both, sellswords deals 100+ more dmg.

                                                                            People are saying this weapon is useless but i disagree. While it is subpar in PvE I think it is relatively useful in PvP. The main drawbacks people find is the split damage and the slow attack speed but personally i don’t find these things that annoying. The split damage isn’t that noticeable unless you’re one handing the weapon and the slow attack speed comes mostly from the L1 and L2. Personally I think the dancer’s enchanted blades just needs to have all of its attacks considered when playing with them.

                                                                                        If you bow tumble Frozen Weapon onto Dancer's Enchanted Swords L2 procs Frostbite multiple times. Like, 5+ times on a Lothric Knight. I don't normally condone bow tumbling but with how useless the WA is right now I think it's a fun build idea.

The weapon art is nerfed down to being useless. Regular moveset is beastly with proper stats, but we all really want these for the beautiful weapon art.

                                                                                              While not particularly outstanding when compared to similar weapons of its type (e.g. Sellsword Twinblades), this weapon isn't all that bad. You are at a massive disadvantage against someone who knows how to parry, but its unique moveset, deceptively long range and lack of spotlight in the meta can make it hard for many to counter. It is a weapon that can be hard to predict if you mix up your moves well. There are definitely better options to use in order to win a fight, but if nothing else you'll be known as the madman who brought the Dancer's Swords to an UGS fight!

                                                                                                    I DID THE MATH put all the stats at the soft cap which is 40 for all of them except faith... don't put it over 30 its scaling is kinda jankey (if you gotta dump a stat dump faith) using crown of dusk, magic clutch ring, sunlight straight sword, deep protection, puts the damage at 907 total ar (596 right hand magic+physical and 582 left hand fire+physical)

                                                                                                                I actually found that these have an infinite stunlock. Your opponent must be near a wall and you must have the wall on your left. When using the L1 the animation will get canceled fast enough to continue using L1 infinitely (well until you run out of stamina) - ChaseTheBro ps. dude below me tried stealing my discovery lol

( not at all recommended to use this weapon for the stunlock )

                                                                                                                      Important infos about the scaling not mentioned in this wiki: INT affects the magic damage and the fire damage, FTH affects only fire damage, as expected. But STR and DEX affects not only physical damage but also magic and fire!

                                                                                                                        I guess you could use these feather dusters to tickle your opponents nipples. These things are about as useful as going in to fiddle a brick wall with limp pool noodles.

I also only have 17 vit. I believe that this weapon with the dancer armor set is the most effective boss build I am going to get with those stats. However, I did hear that the damage was terrible.                                                                                                                             pve not good pvp 1v1 rlly bad 2v2 maybe mediocre at best if you are rlly good but co-op vs bosses when you ally gives you the chance to go all out ? rlly nice extremly fun However if you want to use this blades you ned them full lvl full lvl or dont use them for solo plays and pvp you get stunlocked midcombo so not worth

Too slow, too heavy, too parriable, too much split damage nonsense... and that weapon art. It's sexy but just overall so hard to hit the person; both with the WA and the standard attacks.
