  • Has incredibly long range, is a multi-hit up close, pierces shields, and slows down the opponents stamina regen by -10 upon hit. This makes it very useful for attacking people from far distances or opponents who hide behind their shield.

      Elden Ring, reusing so much from this game already: Uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh what if whips had kick and no unique AOW besides the boss one. (:

        Balanced WA that is excellent for roll catches. The 1st hit comes out fairly quickly and will interrupt nearly all roll attacks in the start up animations. If you manage to get all 3 hits in and the poor guy isn't smart enough to roll away, you can actually spam Impact again to punish them some more. So it combos into itself.

          I just managed to parry with this, by complete accident. Was fighting one of the big corvian knights with claws in Ariandel. I'm using a bleed build with the notched whip and realized they're easily locked down by the weapon art. However I mistimed it and the first hit traded, but I continued with the WA and I realized he was open for a riposte (the sound effect played and his arm was knocked away), though I couldn't actually get one in because it took me by surprise. I've been using whips the whole game so far, and made fair use of Impact, but I've never encountered this until now. Is there a miniscule parry window in the startup, or did I just encounter a rare glitch?

          • It's a good mixup if used one-handed (nothing in left hand or weapon skill shield). R2 and rolling r1 can be used for pressure and this is used to punish roll-ins. It doesn't do crazy damage or anything, but it has got reach and can be difficult to dodge.
