Small shields offer little damage absorption and stability, but they are lightweight and ideal for parrying.

Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has: Regular(R), Thrust(T), Slash(Sl), Strike(St)

  Personally, I prefer this over the Llewellyn Shield as a parrying tool. Sure it can't absorb as well as the LS, but it is a bit lighter and slightly better stability.

  Discount llewellyn, but still oh so good. Available from the first real area of the game, if this drops you're set if you wanted a light small shield. While it doesn't give the same defenses as llewellyn, the stability is alittle higher and can still soak up more damage than you think whilst being 1 unit lighter than the llewellyn. 8/10 would farm again.

  Easily one of my favorite shields. I use it 24/7 for parrying and isn't half bad if you're just trying to block with low weight. Also, you can get it at the start of the game, so this makes early game bosses like sage and watchers quite easy. (granted you can do enough damage and can parry well.)

  I looted this basically after 2 minutes I was on the high wall, shure, after I've fount other fancier shield, but in numbers and effectivness, at least till now, at the end of the day i end using this.

  This is early game. Lighter than a llwellyn shield, has better physical block by 1% and has better stability by also 1. Not worth the super farming needed but it's pretty op.

  You can parry with a Katana? How does that work? I have never seen that before, does it have to be a specific Katana? I have never really used one in battle, just to check out. I know enemies parry me with the Falchion but I did not think it was possible for players to parry with the Falchion. Is that possible as well?

  Worth upgrading. That stability is insane and will save you from an unexpected wide attack, great at setting up backstabs, or-of course- parries

  I farmed this shield and never got it then on my bleed build (Thief starting class) I got on my first kill WTF after that I stoped farming And started using CE to get anything (like those proof of concord kept)

  If you want this shield, it's easier to just have a friend pick the thief class and give it to you since it's a starting item.

  Can confirm offline helps (or maybe I was just lucky) but I switched to offline mode reloaded game got this drop on the first kill at high wall.

  I've been farming this shield for about 2 hours and have gotten the following items...
  Lothric set + sword and shield x3
  4 titanite shards
  6 raw gems
  8 GODDAMN LONGSWORDS
  5 broken straight swords
  At least 30 firebombs
  Like 50 throwing knives
  Over 40000 souls
  And a broken will to live.
  I farmed this with an avarice on and coin buffs most of the time, and I must have killed over 200 of those shield holders. Needless to say I'm done playing for the day...

  Ugh the drop rate on this shield. I've farmed it for two different characters - first time got it in about 10 minutes, and now I've been at it 2 hours with Symbol of Avarice, Gold Serpent +3, rusted coins, and crystal rapier. Fuck it, I'll use the Llewellyn.

  Obviously the shield is not meant to be used for blocking 100%, but I can say the least this shield has kept me alive in a bunch of undead matches. I used a blessed infusion with it to provide healing because the stability is still pretty high when you infuse it, but just don't get hit my lightning. That***** hurts.

  What's this person on about? Amount of damage blocked is clearly displayed. It doesn't really matter what the average of all resistances is since you'll use a shield with high fire/magic/lightning/dark defense if you're going to be blocking spells instead of dodging them for some insane reason.
