Lothric's Holy Sword is a Weapon in Dark Souls 3.

Prince Lothric's straight sword, blessed by Emma with potent magic.

Young Lothric was meant to be a champion, and was expected to wield this platinum sword, but some things will remain distant dreams forever.

Skill: Sacred Lothric Light
Assume stance to imbue sword with sacred light, and use strong attack to release light together with a great thrust of the sword.

Notes and Tips:

  • Cannot be Infused or Buffed.
  • Reinforced with Titanite Scale.
  • Can be combined with Lorian's Greatsword to make the Twin Princes' Greatsword.
  • Its weapon skill can only be aimed horozontally and will not angle to hit targets on a different vertical elevation. However, there is no limit to how many enemies can be hit.
  • Despite its name, this weapon does not deal Holy damage and will not prevent skeletons from re-forming.
  • This is one of five straight sword weapons with a unique weapon skill (the others being the Dark SwordGotthard Twinswords, Sunlight Straight Sword, and Cleric's Candlestick ); all the others straight swords have the skill Stance.
  • Contrary to popular belief, Lothric's Holy Sword is one of the longer straight swords in the game, being the same length or longer than the Dark Sword.

If we're going into particulars, Lothric doesn't use hp regen, so why would his soul's sword have the blessed effect on it? Also, note that the sword has higher dex scaling, which could imply that its meant to be used with skill.

The lothric holy sword may have been made for a weak body so it would not be a tank weapon but it should have blessing to add more of how the weapon is as the prince uses magic so why doesn't the sword have blessing I mean the weapon art is good and range is good but say in real life a blessed sword will help a weak person who uses magic just for a boost

        • 20 Jan 2017 09:19

The lothric holy sword weapon art is useful and the range is brilliant but it is made for weak prince lothric so it would not be a tank weapon, if someone is playing a miracle build then its good, but if not then don't use it I mean I keep it because it looks cool, it would be better to add blessing as it would suit how the weapon is and it would help alot of players who want to use it

Aren't people just approaching this weapon the wrong way. Let's take a look at Lothric/Lorian's boss fight for reference: During the fight it is the champion Lorian who attacks you physically while the frail Lothric provides support for his brother by throwing magic at you to keep the pressure on you which provides openings for lorian, teleporting Lorian close to you and healing his brother when needed. Let's take a look at how the weapons compare: Lothric's holy sword has low base damage with low scaling, but has the instant light beam. Lorian's Greatsword has high AR and hyperarmor. The swords literally perfectly match the brothers, yes? People expect to be able to hit like a truck with Lothric's holy sword because it's an end game weapon, but the point was to match the brothers' styles. If using Lothric's holy sword, then you'll want to fight how a frail, sickly person would fight, with skill and strategy over brute force and tanking. Mix up the r1s, charged attacks and most importantly the weapon arte to keep your foe under pressure, give yourself more openings this way.

What the ***** from. Stop making weapons that would be absolutely perfect on a faith build not scale with faith at all. Like honestly are y'all stupid? Why would you design these weapons to look so holy and make one think it's for a faith build and then make it a dex/quality weapon. Absolutely stupid and ridiculous.

I hadn't used this until recently, but now it seems to be an okay weapon. While the damage can be found lacking, the weapon art more than makes up for it, especially since it also has the ability to scoop shields. Because this also counts as a thrust weapon, it takes advantage of bonus damage from doing Ripostes. Additionally, this sword is longer than most straight swords, matching the Irithyll Straight Sword in length. All in all, this sword is a niche weapon, dealing high damage in certain situations with amazing utility, but performing sub-par without skilled use.

                • ...why even bother?08 Sep 2016 07:30

Why even bother with the "buff" to faith scaling if it's just gonna be an E? I don't...I can't wrap my head around it. Why, Fromsoft? Why? Starting at E and rising to a C? Fine. E to D? *****ty, but alright. But, staying at E and never rising? You might as well have not even changed a thing...

                    Really bad damage? Check
Cannot be buffed?
Check
Terrible scalling considering the low base damage? Check
But after ALL THAT, this weapon has the audacity to ask for 18 dex 14 faith just to use it?
Hell no.

                    • not viable at all, even after the patch30 Jul 2016 08:48

Don't let the end-game boss soul and butthurt cleric builds fool you, this sword is useless in PvP and barely legal in PvE. The AR at 40/20/40 is just under 400, which actually isn't terrible for a straight sword, but you wont be able to combo anyone thanks to non existent hyper armor and non existent stun lock on this weapon. The reason its called 'holy' is because of the holes it has where decent faith scaling and straight sword range should have been. The weapon art is not bad if you do direct contact at close range, but other than that its useless. The only logical reason to get this is if youre planning on getting the twin princes greatsword.

                      • Holy16 Jul 2016 09:53

Why do none o the weapons with "holy" in their name or at all associated with clerics gain a holy modifier, only Artorias' weapon and blessed infusion? Well, whatever

                        • Needs another buff11 Jul 2016 11:40

This weapon just ins't good enough to be a near-final boss weapon. The scaling just flat sucks. And the weapon art hardly makes up for it. compared to what you can get out of a buffed refined lothric knight sword, it's trash.

                          • Viable after patch?08 Jul 2016 19:43

It does slightly more damage more me after the new patch. It used to be 375, but now it is 390 something. Thats seems like decent AR to me, though it isnt the most damaging. Worth a try if you have decently high str, dex, and faith.
