Notes

  • Raises Poison, Bleed, Frost and Curse resistance by 80 points each.
  • Same effect as Mossfruit. They also stack together, but their durations are different.
  • Does not cure ailments, as the item description suggests, it only increases resistances.
  • Lasts 60 seconds. This duration is affected by Lingering Dragoncrest Ring.
  • Overwrites and is overwritten by Flash Sweat, Power Within, Iron Flesh and Carthus Beacon.
  • If one wants to benefit from the effects almost immediately, they can attune this spell, use it, and then rest at a bonfire. The buff will mantain active, but the status bar will be set to 0, giving you the increased status resistance for almost the full duration. It's then up to the player if they change the spell, or re-cast it to mantain the buff active for longer time.

Poorly designed, by time you get the full effect of the buff it wears off. It would have been better if it rapidly lowers negative build up like allowing the player to trudge through the poison swamp without any build up for the sweat knocks it out faster then it builds and so on for other things like toxic and bleed.

This is literally just for when you realize your starting class gets a single attunement slot and not enough INT/FTH to get any good spells. Yeah, it's garbage.

The main problem with this spell is that it doesn't simply just increase your maximum resistance amount...For instance, let's say you have 200 poison resist and you cast this spell. Now you should have 280 poison resist, so you can last longer in the poison... well, not necessarily. When it increases your maximum threshold by 80 points, it effectively also causes 80 points of poison build up. Thus you'll still get poisoned just as fast if you immediately run around in a poison swamp after casting the spell.Instead, you need to cast it, wait for the poison build up to diminish, and then run in the poison swamp. It should go without saying how stupid this is because you're effectively wasting the duration of the buff in order to get the effect it should give you. It's as though it's actually expanding the bar in the other direction. So when you boost your maximum resistance, it should be like the right side of the bar gets extended... so instead of 0 - 200, it would be 0 - 280. But it's more like it changes 0-200 into -80 - 200, and since you were at 0 poison build up when you cast the spell, you basically have 80 poison build up that has to diminishing before you get the full impact of your increased resistance. This also makes it useless to use this thing mid swamp run. So if you run out into the swap and say "Oh, I should cast profuse sweat"... well, you're going to get poisoned in the same amount of time as if you didn't cast it since it effectively causes 80 buildup while boosting your maximum resistance by 80. In other words, it's just better to not bother using the spell for the specific niches it was designed to be used for.And then just because they wanted to kick you in the teeth,it won't stack with any other pyromancy buff...I'd hope for this thing to get patched, but my list of stuff I hope gets patched is so long now that I might as well just forget about this thing.

At least for poison it doesn't cut anything, it only creates larger bar to fill up before you are poisoned/etc and on exit it shrink it again, which felt like it cured it a bit. My mistake.

I was testing it yesterday in Great Swamp - it will not cure ailments on cast, but rather on expiration. Or rather cuts down a large portion of existing ailment bar. When I was poisoned, my poison bar went down around half of the max (say bar has 100 points max, it had cut existing poison by 50 points). Same with Curse from basilisk. Will try to test a bit more again.
