Sacred Bloom Shield is a Shield in Dark Souls 3.

A treasured antique of the Way of White, known to some as the Sorcerer's Bane.

The large blossom design that graces the shield is said to be a sacred flame, and the shield is blessed with high magic protection.

Skill: Spell Parry

Repel an attack at the right time to follow up with a critical hit.  Works while equipped in either hand.  Also deflects spells.

Notes and Tips:

  • Can NOT be Infused.
  • Reinforced with Twinkling Titanite.
  • Provides an average block of 55%. Actually sports fantastic damage block for its weight. The shield also is one of two able to deflect spells, contributing to its value. This shield suffers from terrible stability however, its most glaring weakness. Compare to the Golden Wing Crest Shield.

Does not unlock sledding like its Bloodborne precursor.

Super lame that parrying spells doesn't send them back at the caster.

        Only downside
        No blessed or simple infusions
Those may not do a lot but the healing stacks up with sun ring. Good for annoying hosts and what not without wasting flasks. Simple will be good if ur using low fp arts.

Looks amazing. Can parry physical and magical attacks. Incredible absorption/weight ratio. Plus the parry sound it makes is the cherry on top.

Dodging spells is better than parrying in every way. I use it only to frustrate wizards who just spam Crystal Soul Spear. That's one of the easiest spells to deflect, just parry early.

Would be viable if you could deflect the spell back to the caster and if you could parry melee spells like black flame.

Found this looking for a decent Caster counter; and my goodness 81 is brutal! Worth noting that 81 vs 69 (llewyne) is a relative 39% additional damage reduction, and even relative to Pontiff Knight Shield; 81 vs 79 is still a relative 10% reduction.

The fact it can still perform normal parries makes it fantastic. I have no plans to parry spells; just the ability to parry the user up close at less weight than my normal shield and 81% Mag reduction. Brutal!

Watching the sparkly bubble of the animation actually helped me learn the right parry frames for the small shields. If nothing else, maybe it’s a good learning tool for a future party king?

Parried a fire orb from the desert sorcerer NPC in ringed city, the orb fell at my feet anyway, blew up and I took full damage from it, adding to the already neverending bullshit of that particular fight (I mean her neverending stamina and FP, her instant cast, her instant recover after cast, her dodge not canceling the cast of longer spells, meaning she is dodging and throwing **** at the same time, the ridiculou AR of her weapon and finally the fact that she takes no fall damage).

This shield is good when you see an attack coming your way that you have absolute confidence in a successful parry but a spell projectile is going to hit u. Then you hafta read the situation in advance if that attack will reach the parryable frame first or the spell is going to reach first. Which is pretty hard to do. While this shield hav a pretty niche usage. It can do something other shield can't... If you find yourself often against a gank with casters, considering bring this shield.

Worth mentioning and probably adding somewhere here that parrying Affinity or CHSM with this doesn’t deactivate them, so you basically open yourself up to at least one.

Started pulling it out against sorcerers as a goof. Now, I can't leave home without it because of the absorption, the negligible weight, and how good the parry is against Homing Soulmass and Friede's Scythe because the bubble lingers just long enough to deflect all the orbs even if they're released an slightly irregular intervals, and you can block the first WA R1 of the Scythe's WA and parry the follow up R1 with solid damage reduction.

Even if you're not good at parrying, this has some nice magic absorption so just blocking incoming sorceries will do. Doesn't have as good lightning or dark defense, though.

Perhaps Its a broken Sanctus from DS1 it sports a very similar design with the pattern and central gem and both shields came from the way of white.

FYI if you parry a spell it keeps going and can hit people behind you.

Happened to me and it felt amazing.

Spell parry works on all projectile spells, but it can struggle to parry large projectiles like some pyromancies and Great Soul Dregs, since it might not move them far enough around you for you to avoid their hitbox. It also doesn't work on "beam" spells (like Soul Stream and Fire Surge, though it will work on Fire Whip) or "crawling" spells (like Black Serpent or White Dragon Breath). It also cannot parry the AoE resulting from spells like Lightning Stake or any spell with "storm" in the name (although you can, with perfect timing, spell parry a Lightning Stake, it will not move enough to affect the damage you take). Spells cast by most enemies in PvE can be spell parried, including some boss attacks (but not including Aldrich's Soul Spear, Lothric's Crystal Soul Spear, or anything cast by Soul of Cinder), although the wisdom of doing so is often questionable. The fireballs spat by the man-serpents in Archdragon Peak also cannot be spell parried.

only for the true parry king, the true parry king does not need that much stamina he parry's perfectly every time

Small shield but it's parry timing seems to be the same as medium shields and also eats quite a lot of stamina while parrying. Other shields are better for parrying and also consume less stamina compared to this one so you can stunlock an enemy after parrying. Not impressed.

it parry's aa and magic so if you are facing a mage/pyro just bring out this bad boy to parry his ranged magics and parry his mele attacks/spells

Can also parry projectile Pyromancies and all forms of lightning spear (confirmed). Unconfirmed: Have not yet tested on Emit Force and Gnaw.
