Splitleaf Greatsword is a Weapon in Dark Souls 3.



A long-handled greatsword that made its way from a distant land. Crafted entirely with bronze, making it exceedingly heavy.

Splitleaf refers to the shape of the great blade, and its resemblance to the veins of a leaf.

Skill: Wind Wheel
Spin weapon vigorously above head and sweep foes, and transition with normal or strong attack for continued spin attacks, which whip up wind and gain momentum, strengthening subsequent attacks.



Notes and Tips: 

  • Can be Infused and Buffed.
  • Reinforced with Titanite.
  • With 40 strength and 40 dexterity, the sharp infusion actually grants higher AR than the refined infusion (528 AR vs 503 AR). When two-handing, the AR for the heavy infusion is slightly higher (546 AR vs 543 AR).
  • At 66 strength, this weapon's heavy infusion reaches 599 AR two-handed (549 AR one-handed), making it the highest non-split AR obtainable for the halberd weapon class.  

 

Location/Where to Find

  • Can be bought from the Stone-humped Hag at The Dreg Heap Bonfire, as soon as you walk in to the area before drop down for 11,000 Souls. It can also be bought from the Shrine Handmaiden for 11,000 after giving her the Old Woman's Ashes.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X". 
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped. 
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has: Regular(R), Thrust(T), Slash(Sl), Strike(St)

        When From makes cool weapons, everyone will be begging for them to nerf it cuz it's too "OP". My Cathedral Knight Greatsword can 2-3 shot people, the ***** you talking about? Sad, but true, but complaints go on for like a month or so. Then everyone just deals with it.

          Erm... isn't this incorrect? A winged knight halberd is pure physical and does more AR than split leaf at 66 strength 99 Dex, invalidating the statement "At 66 strength, this weapon's heavy infusion reaches 599 AR two-handed (549 AR one-handed), making it the highest non-split AR obtainable for the halberd weapon class."

            Y'all still arguing about this? Poise doesn't exist for human players. Poise has always been having numerical values dictating if you would be staggered. But the way it worked was poise was active at all times. You didn't have to swing your weapon.
            Hyper armor however worked in a similar fashion but instead it only happened when you swung. They have always been two separated things.

            There's is only hyper armor frames. No active poise frames.
            Enemies like the Black Knights however have Poise. Because they don't have to be swinging for them to not be stunned. Dunno why you guys are so confused on this. Did you not play DS1 or DS2?

              For future reference, since there still seem to be a few confused people, poise does exist and it determines how well your hyper armor works. There is a reason there is a numerical value shown on your player status screen, it is so you can get the correct amount of poise to hyper armor through certain attacks. This value is dependent on what weapon you're using and what weapon class you're going against. You can search up the values pretty easily and i'd REALLY recommend it because getting staggered out of your hyper armor makes trading significantly more difficult. It usually takes a relatively low amount of poise to hyper armor through light attacks from straight swords,curved swords, etc. though this is influenced by your weapon, you might need more poise to tank through light attacks while using one halberd than another halberd.

                Wonder who that idiot who thinks there's no Poise is I guess he's never used multiple weapons and connected with an attack that would have been interrupted and didn't involve hyper armor do to poise or does my Sunlight Straight Sword have hyper armor for normal attacks

                    Splitleaf sometimes when buffed(with resins or magic buffs) makes somewhat of x2 damage instances on regular hits and can deal ~700dmg on 1 hit. anyone got info about that?

                        Everyone whining about true combos...news flash! There's no poise, only hyper armor so of course a weapon like this is going to be used a lot. Has hyper armor and a combo, this is more of a mechanical problem than a weapon problem it seems.

                          Oh look! It's a cancer! Jokes aside, i had someone down to like a third of their hp without take ANY damage and they true combo'd me to a tenth of my hp and then finished me by spamming the running attack, please note that i wasn't panic rolling and that they just eventually genuinely managed to hit me... "avoid the true combo scrub!", easier said than done. I'm not saying the weapon isn't manageable, because it is, but it certainly isn't hard to use and that ridiculous true combo can completely turn the tide even against an experienced player. @the guy saying this weapon isn't OP while trying to use another meta (black knight glaive) to compare it to: Actually, enough said. You're comparing it to another OP weapon saying that it isn't OP because you think they other OP weapon is better. Both have true combos too. Ahahaha.

                            Everybody cries to how op this weapon is man but its a good weapon of course but its not op its not a best halberd anyway i think bkg is better than this yes maybe this coast more damage but its lighter it has more valuable moveset and better wa with better poise . İf we go to How to counter them : İf you have a slow weapon use your hyper armor you can just wreck people, if you have a fast weapon like katana , ss vs just parry bait and parry you can parry the first r1 on reaction , if you have a spear or haberd vs just space that right and you will be okey.
                            (Sorry for my bad english guys)
