The Ringed City is a Location in Dark Souls 3. It is the name of the main location of the second DLC, The Ringed City. A traditional city for the Pygmies, called the Ringed City. Half covered in foliage, the city looks desolated with ancient ruins. A portion of the bridge is curved, creating a wall on the inner side. Countless tombstones line the top of the wall made of rock.

When the gargoyles have dropped you off, there is a Titanite Scale on a corpse behind you. Grab that and then head down to the left, but take a moment to appreciate the final inspiring vista of the series. Make your way and speak to the NPC along the path and then proceed to light the first Bonfire ahead. Head down the steps and shades will be summoned to fire at you. If you turn around and head to the right corner behind you will come to an alcove where you can find the Ruin Set. Make your way back and use the grave stones along the right as a station to station cover from the attacks.

If you continue straight and stay to the right, you will come to a drop to a lower ledge and ahead you can drop down again. Make an about face and find a corpse at the end with Soul of a Crestfallen Knight x1. On the opposite end you will find a Crystal Lizard that you can chase around a ledge. Around the ledge at the end you'll find a ladder. Take it up to the platform and then take the steps up to find the summoner. His summons will appear here and fire arrows at you. Avoid them and kill him to put an end to the summons and earn a Divine Blessing and Titanite Chunk. From here you can go back and check out the path where the summons were to find a corpse with Large Soul of a Weary Warrior, one with Ember x1, one with Budding Green Blossom x2 and another with Titanite Chunk x2. You can enter a doorway leading beneath where the summoner was and head left to find a corpse with Hidden Blessing x1.

Back up on the platform where the summoner was, take the stairs on the end down and around and you will come to an NPC on the left. Continue down the path and take out the hollows ahead and beware of the one who drops down. Continue forward towards the corpse but mind the hollow who drops from above and the other who climbs up on the ledge by the body. Take them out and loot the corpse for Purging Stone x2. Make an about face and enter the doorway on the right into a room with a Bonfire. Light it and head up and to the right through the doorway ahead and turn right to find a corpse with Ember x1.

Go back through the doorway and take the next doorway on the right. Take out the hollow and head left down the hallway to a balcony with 2 hollows. Defeat them and head down the steps to find a corpse hanging over a railing with Hollow Gem x1. Proceed into the flower field where you will encounter your first Ringed Knight. Defeat it and to your right you can walk along a narrow ledge to find a hollow and a corpse with Titanite Chunk x1. You can drop down or circle around to the staircase below.

Take the steps down to encounter a Hollow Cleric. Defeat it and enter the doorway and head left to find another Cleric and more if you circle around. In the center of this room you can drop/roll to a central gate and then hop to the ledge. Take out the Cleric here and follow the path to the end to find a corpse with Twinkling Titanite x1. From here you can drop down into the center where you will be attacked by a formidable Ringed Knight with a Ringed Knight Spear. Defeat it and in the center of the room you will find a corpse along a pillar with Shriving Stone x1. Exit the room through the doorway short starirs going up and cross over the large stairs to the far end to come to a path with some hollows and a corpse at the dead end with Titanite Chunk x1. Turn around and head straight, beware of all the Harald legion that patrol the stairs. Take out the hollows and head left across the narrow, moss covered bridge to find a corpse by a tree with Mossfruit x2.

Head through the entrance to the left to come to a field with lavender like flowers and a Ringed Knight. Defeat it and head left up to the next area and you will be invaded by the dark spirit Seeker of the Spurned who will emerge from an alley in the corner. Defeat the invader to earn Wolf Ring +3 and continue down the alley to find a corpse with the Black Witch Set (with the hat not the veil).

Go back the way you came and drop down to the large staircase and take out the Harald legion one at a time. Landing jump attacks are particularly useful against them.

Head up the steps and you will come to a tower and a door. Approach and speak to the person on the other side who will ask for the name of God. It is Shira. She will ask you to defeat Midir for her. Accept her request and she will give you the Sacred Chime of Filianore somehow magically through the door.

Head down the stairs and take out the hollows to the left and further on you will find 2 more, one which tosses lightning spears. Loot the corpse in the nook for Mossfruit x2. Across the opposite way you can go through a passageway where you will take out more hollows and follow this around. Right before it exits another hollow will drop from the wall on the left. Head outside into the flowered courtyard to take on a Ringed Knight with a spear. Defeat it and loot the corpse in the corner for Ringed Knight Spear

Continue forward and take out the hollows here and cross the narrow moss covered bridge to the other side to hear some ominous words. Drop down to the large stairs and take out the Harald legion patrols here if any are left, again dividing them and going one at a time. At the bottom of the steps you will find a corpse with Large Soul of a Crestfallen Knight x1. Ahead will be a swamp, because this is Dark Souls.

The Swamp

Step into the swamp and head left to come to a downed structure with a corpse nearby that you can loot for Titanite Chunk x1. Head left to find some Clerics and at the end a corpse with Soul of a Crestfallen Knight x1.

There is a ladder that can be found turning left once you enter the swamp from the stairs. At the top of the ladder immediately left is the NPC Locust Preacher that was previously above you. Proceed up the short stairs & first go left to encounter a Crystal Lizard (drops Twinkling Titanite) that will run off the balcony to the large stairs below; across the bridge, you will encounter two ringed knights and then enter a room in which Lapp can be found asking about the location of the Purging Monument, (once found, return here to inform him to progress his questline) alongside with the Covetous Gold Serpent Ring +3. Return to the top of the stairs above the ladder & now go right, drop down to the stone path & proceed up to the tower ahead. You will be invaded by Silver Knight Ledo (Who drops Ledo's Great Hammer once defeated). Once inside the tower, proceed out the left door to a balcony with a body holding a Titanite Chunk, then proceed out the door you first used to enter the tower & drop down a series of ledges to obtain Havel's Ring +3 & safely return to the swamp.

After returning to the base of the ladder, turn around and head in the opposite direction and head into the corner to find the White Preacher Head. Head back to where you walked in and walk straight ahead to see a group of locusts who will scatter. Straight ahead you will find a corpse with Dark Gem. Head right to encounter a large locust with spikes. Defeat it and head up the stairs. At the top you will find a corpse hanging over the railing with Prism Stone x4. Head into the doorway to find a Bonfire. There is a gate in this room that does not open from this side. Exit the doorway back into the swamp and head straight across to find a larger locust enemy over a corpse with Twinkling Titanite. Stay along the left wall of the swamp and take the hill up and find a hollow to the right and a corpse with the White Birch Bow. Across will be a corpse with Titanite Chunk x1.

Head back down the hill and to the left will be a tree with corpses you can loot for Young White Branch x3. Head back into the swamp and go forward and hang left into the structure to find the Church Guardian Shiv on a corpse. Exit the structure and head left along the shore to take on the Iron Dragonslayer. Slay him to earn the Iron Dragonslayer Set

Keep following the left shore around. You'll come to 2 corpses in the swamp with Titanite Scale x2. Keep circling the shore back around and you'll find a corpse along a rock with Titanite Chunk x1. Ahead roaming the swamp will be a judicator summoning more warriors. Defeat the judicator to put an end to that nonsense. You'll also encounter some large locusts.

On an island in the swamp loot a corpse for Titanite Chunk x1 and nearby in the abyssal liquid a corpse with Large Soul of a Weary Warrior x1. Circle around this island to the right and head up the hill to come to a structure and a corpse laying against it with the Ringed Knight Straight Sword. You'll run into the particularly creepy NPC again.

Head back down into the swamp to a small crumbled ruin ahead and find the Preacher's Right Arm on a corpse. Mind the locusts that emerge. Continue to the building that is partially submerged, stopping to loot the Soul of a Weary Warrior. Step onto the submerged roof and prepare yourself for 3 Ringed Knights, good lord. Divide and conquer, and use as much space as you need. Step onto the roof then and head to the other side to drop down to the ground and head right to find another Ringed Knight and a corpse with Black Witch Veil

Head onto the structure and go up and find a Twinkling Titanite on a corpse. From here if you look to the left across the distance you can get a peak at an imposing foe. Drop down ahead and head to the right of the huge arch to find a narrow path into the building ahead. Go through the doorway and into a room and unlock the gate to open a shortcut to the bonfire. In this room an engraving on the wall reads, "Show Your Humanity". If you're stumped visit that page to learn how to unlock this secret!

When following the secret path, drop out of the building to the field below to face a pair of patrolling Ringed Knights, as well as another summoning Judicator sitting on the platform beyond where you first drop down. After dispatching these enemies, descend the ladder further along, & turn right to take on a lightning spear throwing hollow, and loot the adjacent body for the Dragonhead Shield. Return to the ladder, & continue across the bridge to loot a Large Soul of a Crestfallen Knight, & to the right, the Purging Monument that Lapp has been searching for. If you're feeling athletic, you may attempt the jump past the Monument to reach the bridge where you faced two Ringed Knights and a hollow leading to Lapp's room with the Golden Covetous Serpent Ring +3 (if you did not already loot it earlier). Alternatively, you can walk back around past the ladder to where you faced the hollow to safely drop down into the field directly outside of Lapp's room no jumping required. If followng Lapp's questline, you can now inform him of the Monument's location to continue progressing. Having found all of Humanity's secrets, you can now make your way back to the Bonfire room to continue on the main path.

Head back outside and follow the narrow path down to the right to come to a corpse with a Titanite Scale x1. Further down the path is a Ringed Knight. Defeat it and continue to find the Dragonhead Greatshield on a corpse. Go back up and get ready to head right across the stone bridge. But before you go, be warned that in true Dark Souls fashion the dragon will blaze you when you try. Don't run in recklessly, instead take a few steps on to bait it and then quickly dash back and make your way across after it's flown past. Mind the fire which will hurt.

Dragon Bridge

Make your way quickly across and run into the tunnel on the right to escape the flames and take out the enemy in here. You can loot the corpse at the entrance for Soul of a Weary Warrior. Head back into the tunnel to find a corpse to the right on the edge with Titanite Scale x2.

You'll be using this tunnel as your cover while you time the dragon. Let it come towards you and then head out the tunnel and go right when the flames subside. Skip the first corpse as it has Rubbish and keep heading straight and to the left to drop down to a lower ledge to loot Titanite Scale x2. Keep going and take out the hollow and follow the path around and up, and duck into the entranceway ahead to avoid the flames as the dragon passes through. Run out and head left to find a corpse with Large Soul of a Weary Warrior

The Tower

Head back in and ahead up the stairs to find a Crystal Lizard, but the stairs will crumble before you can get to it.

If you tried to go up the crumbling steps and fall you'll land on lower stairs and will be invaded by dark spirit Moaning Knight. There will be some vintage animated skeleton action here. Head up the stairs and find another 2 through the entrance to the left. Loot the corpse for Lightning Gem x1. Step through the room and head up the stairs to be attacked by 2 skeletons and Moaning Knight. Moaning Knight is a beast of a foe and does some heavy melee damage. Defeat him to earn the Blindfold Mask. Up the stairs past him is a corpse with Simple Gem.

Back by the entrance, if you have told Lapp the location of the Purging Monument, he can be found sitting in a room to the right of where you came in (past the little hump of ruble), & will treat you to a scene reminiscent of the Tomb in DS1.

You can avoid the crumbling stairs and just drop from level to level. Eventually you'll come to a corpse with Blessed Gem. From here you can take the stairs up and come to a room with a Mimic. Kill it for Ring of the Evil Eye +3. Go up the next level and enter the room and head through and go left up the stairs to take out some skeletons. Keep going up the next staircase and you'll come through an opening where the Crystal Lizard is. Kill it quickly if you can and go left up the stairs and you'll come to a Bonfire.

Assuming you completed Lapp's cutscene, you can drop down though the broken stairs below to retrieve Lapp's Set from the room to the right of the initial entrance. Return to the Bonfire to continue on.

Dragon Up Close & Personal

Head through the doorway to get outside and it's time for more dragon fire fun. He'll perform a sweeping fire pattern similar to past dragons in the series. You can avoid it in a nook to the left behind a rock. You can time it and get right underneath it to engage it and attack. If you do, you will have to watch for its up close fire and breath attacks as you attack its claws and body, making sure to back away when it breathes its large AoE fire straight down. Eventually it will go berserk and stop slamming the ground, swiping its arms and spreading flames everywhere. When you've done enough damage it will drop and leave itself open for attacks. Take the offensive and knock it out to send it tumbling down to the depths. Cross the bridge up and loot the corpse for a Titanite Scale.

Gwyn Statue Room & Shortcut

Enter the doorway ahead and go left up the steps to find a Crystal Lizard. To the left of the base of the stairs is a series of 3 illusory walls, the first hiding a Cleric, the second a soul item, & the third the Miracle Lightning Arrow. Proceed up the stairs to enter a room with a statue in the center of Gwyn and the Pygmy. You can't loot the item in Gwyn's hand just yet. In a doorway you will come to a room with a pressure plate you can activate to raise an elevator up to a room where you can open the gate to unlock a shortcut to the earlier Bonfire

Take the elevator down and look for a side doorway you can walk into on the way down. Head into the room and loot an Ember on the corpse. From here you may access the optional boss of this area, follow the steps detailed at the end of this walkthrough under the heading Optional Boss. Step through the doorway to the stairs and down the next flight and hop down the hole in the floor to land on the platform of the Gwyn statue. You can now loot the Chloranthy Ring +3 from Gwyn's hand.

Spears of the Church

Step outside and go forward to find a corpse to the left with Budding Green Blossom x5. A Ringed Knight wielding Ringed Knight Paired Greatswords will step forward to attack. Defeat it to earn them.

Ahead to the right you will find an altar with the prompt "Pray to the Divine Spear Monument". Do so to discover where you will rank up in the Spears of the Church Covenant. Around the backside of the altar will be a Ritual Spear Fragment. Head up the stairs and drop down to the left to find a corpse with Twinkling Titanite x2.

Head up the steps and approach the door to have a chat with Judicator Argo. Open the doors, and step through the fog to face the boss.

Boss: Halflight, Spear of the Church

Defeat the boss to earn a Titanite Slab and Filianore's Spear Ornament. Head through the doorway on the left and take the stairs up to find a Bonfire in the room. Head opposite it through the doorway to activate a pressure plate elevator up. Go through the doorway at the top and head up the long flight of stairs and open the double doors to meet Filianore. If you approach you will get a prompt to touch the embraced shell and a cutscene will play. A Bonfire will now be in front of her. If you step out you will see things have changed dramatically.

Make your way across the barren field to see an NPC dragging itself across the ash. Follow the trail it has left behind. If you veer off to the left you will find a solitary wandering Ringed Knight. Defeat it to earn a Titanite Chunk, Ember and Titanite Slab. From the main path leading from the Bonfire, room, if you veer right you can enter another large ruined building to trigger a hostile Shira to spawn and seek vengeance for awakening Filianore. This can be done either before or after the main Boss fight is finished. Defeating her will yield the Crucifix of the Mad King, as well as a Titanite Slab if it was not already earned by completing her questline & slaying Darkeater Midir; additionally, after defeating her, you can return to the now accessible room at the top of the giant stairs where she previously resided to loot Shira's Set. Resume the course following the main path through the archway and a cutscene will trigger.

Boss: Slave Knight Gael (Boss)

Defeat him to earn Soul of Slave Knight Gael and Blood of the Dark Soul. Light the Bonfire that appears. Make your way across the expanse to the ruins on the hill in the distance. Head through the doorway and enter an arena and you will face off with Shira. She is a tough battle and wields the Crucifix of the Mad King and Lightning Arrow both of which she wields effectively. She will heal a couple of times. Defeat her to obtain her weapon and a Titanite Slab.

Wrapping Up

Make your way back to The Dreg Heap's first bonfire and go to where the Stone-humped Hag was to now find Old Woman's Ashes which you can give to the Shrine Handmaid.

To obtain the final dialogue and bring the story to a close, make your way to the Sister Friede Bonfire in the Painted World of Ariandel and visit the Painting Girl. Give her the Blood of the Dark Soul to present her the pigment she sought. She asks your name and offers to paint a new world in your name, or will call it Ash if you refuse your name.

Optional Boss

To challenge the area's optional boss make your way to the Ringed Inner Wall bonfire and take the elevator shortcut down and step through the hidden side door before you get to the bottom (the room with the Knight statues where you looted the Ember earlier). Attack the statue to the right to reveal the illusion. At the end of the hallway step around the hole in the floor to loot a Filianore's Spear Ornament from the corpse. Make your way to the hole and take the long ladder down. Loot the corpse in this room for Antiquated Plain Garb and Violet Wrappings

Ahead of the altar, you will see a broken wall with a hole leading down. Take the plunge down to square off against your foe.

Boss Fight: Darkeater Midir

Defeat him to earn the Spears of the Church covenant item which you can equip to allow you to be summoned to assist Halflight, Spear of the Church, and Soul of Darkeater Midir. Light the Bonfire that appears.

Yeah the ganking sucks, but I honestly feel like the biggest flaw with this place is that EVERYTHING RESPAWNS. Killing giant breathing obstacles to make areas easier to progress is (for me at least) one of the most statisfying things in soulsborne, and everyone, from the judicators to the ringed fellows just come back. Every runback is annoying and every death resets progress. All and all this place is just okay. Nothing more, nothing less.

Getting from the inner wall bonfire to the swamp bonfire sucked. I'm SL98, and I had to have lost 300,000 souls here. Kill clerics, die to fattys, kill fattys, die to curse, kill curse gremlins die to knight, kill 5/6 fattys, fall off the edge, kill all of them, get lost wander past swamp bonfire and die to Dragonslayer armour. I eventually just stopped fighting them and ran to the next bonfire.

Not all humans went to the city just ring knights, some nobility & those who were fully aware of power and danger of the dark thus in an agreement with gwyn they stayed in their gifted city the rest forgot about the dark soul and lived as civilians around the world.

          • Anonymous

Considering they made Lyndell, I assume it was either time or technology that wouldn't allow us to fully explore the city.

            • Anonymous

The ambushes and tough enemy spam stop being fun after a while, and then you just run to the boss, real good design when you just want to skip most of it.

Fun fact: The crown-wearing NPC after you ruin the world will die about 9 steps away from the hole in the wall

                • Anonymous

TBH, i think this one was better designed than the other DLC with sister friede at the end. sister friede can suck an egg. midir and gael were both easier than friede for me.

I know these games takes alot of time and effort, and that this will sound ungrateful. But I think it is bittersweet to stand at the Mausoleum look-out bonfire, knowing that the gorgeous vista is completely inaccessible, and that most of the level is down in the swamp below. I suppose I just always starve for more.

I really like this dlc because of the great bosses and enemy designs, but I have to draw the line somewhere because at times this entire area feels like a slog to go through. It’s all just a massive gangbang by harald knights until you get to the swamp, which is, of course, a swamp area in a souls game.

the real boss is making it from the ringed inner wall bonfire to the city streets bonfire without the map.

If you actually follow the walkthrough, you're making life incredibly difficult for yourself.

Going as outlined, you'd fight through the Inner Wall tower, fight slaves, Hollow Clerics, Ringed Knight, then 6 Harald Legion, another Ringed Knight, an NPC invasion, more hollows, another Ringed Knight, more Harald Legion, more Hollow Clerics, swamp locusts, two Ringed Knights, another NPC invasion, and a large locust, so you can pick up some Mossfruit and redundant titanite.

Do yourself a big favor and when you make it to the bottom of the Inner Wall tower with the Ringed Spear Knight, make a bee-line across, jump down the stairs, run past the Harald Legion out into the swamp, hang a right and stick to the wall, and up the stairs to hit the Ringer City Streets bonfire.

Explore the swamp and streets at your leisure. Or, you know, just do it in the worst possible way like the guide recommends

Thanks for the walkthrough. Very thorough. Just a recommendation: maybe put the route to the swamp bonfire before the whole section with the ladder, Lapp, etc. I barely made it to the bottom of the stairs. Brutal level.

I see a lot of people complaining that this area is hard. While I don't think this is false, I don't think it's above the standard the rest of the game set. If you struggle, try a different way. There's almost always an easier way to get through an area.

Trivia: The idea of hollowing, the Dark Souls representation of the end of the world, and the Ringed City (particularly Gael's arena) is likely inspired by the poem 'The Hollow Men' by T.S. Eliot.

Wikipedia says this about the poem: "The "hollow men" fail to transform their motions into actions, conception to creation, desire to fulfillment... They did not put any good or evil into the world, making them out to be 'hollow' people who can only watch others move on into the afterlife."

The poem ends "This is the way the world ends, not with a bang but a whimper".

                                Don't you dare go hollow.

The ringed street punished melee players so hard by putting SEVEN Fat ****ing knights there, one is already hard enough. I raged after getting raped by the three of them at the end of the staircase. And I got killed by the straight sword ringed knight combo because I got impatient. Threw my controller and turned off my PS4. Thanks dark souls 3.

Heh I’d complain about trivia not belonging in walkthrough, but it is objectively true.

Having a hell of a time getting through this area. Especially the part between the second and third bonfire, holy hell. The Ringed Knights are one thing, but the Harald knights and turtling clerics are absolutely horrible.

                                        • Invaded here the other day at sl125 just for kicks and I fought some guy who hadn’t even made it past the swamp who had 2 white phantoms and a sunbro with him. Needless to say it didn’t go well, especially since 3 of them had LKSS. I have serious respect for twinks now, I don’t blame them for not wanting to put up with these pussy ass players who need 3 other people to gank invaders with.

Gee, it would be just fantastic of this guide's author to state that Toothless on meth would come swooping down to lightly season the narrow bridge with the raging inferno of a dragon's core.

                                            • such an awful guide really prioritizing the difficult moaning knight over the bonfire that's literally two feet above him i swear the people that wrote this either were purposefulky being difficult or have no clue how to write a guidd

This area would be so cool if they didn't design the enemies to be so infuriating to fight. There does not need to be Harald Knights and the range Hollowed Clerics have is absurd.

Ringed Knights and everything else are fine, just those two enemy types are so frustrating to play against. Especially the duo. Aggressive enemies that can easily one-shot you. Legit harder than like 75% of the bosses imo.

Man, I had zero memory of this entire area until the area before the Spear bossroom. For some reason it was the only area I remembered because of the lighting and the Ringed Knight.
It almost felt unreal seeing it again

Lots of incorrect/ missing info here...qlThe titanite at the start is a scale, not a chunk. There is a second hollow who climbs up from below before the purging stone body by the 2nd bonfire. Right after the second bonfire when you go down the steps, there is a hollow who drops down on you at the top of the steps.

                                                      • “Head onto the structure and go up and find a Twinkling Titanite on a corpse. From here if you look to the left across the distance you can get a peak at an imposing foe. Drop down ahead and head right to find a narrow path into the building ahead. Go through the doorway and into a room and unlock the gate to open a shortcut to the bonfire. In this room an engraving on the wall reads, "Show Your Humanity"“

Guys, I get not completely handholding. For sure. But this is vague to the point of completely meaningless. You may as well just not bother giving a direction. There are a minimum of three places this could mean, all at wildly different locations. I have zero clue which one it is. As usual, I won’t know where you meant until I get there, which entirely defeats the purpose of writing a bloody guide

For me the design has gone from mostly clever, well thought out maps and enemy placement to a dull memory game with this DLC. Having enemies constantly hiding round corners isn't a fun way of making things difficult.

                                                          • Anonymous

The distance between the second and third bonfire is waaay too cruel. Too many hard enemies in the way. I'm level 130 with the best equipment possible and still being constantly beaten to a pulp. Recommended Levels: 80 to 100 my ass XD

Hey can anyone place there summon at the second bonfire in the ringed city, not at derg heap at the ringed city second bonfire

Gotta love that blatant berserk reference that is "The Shared Grave"
Surprised you dont get a hawk ring+3 at the bottom (even though Griffith doesnt use a ranged weapon)
Or a hawk skull helm on a shriveled corpse could have been neat

                                                                • Anonymous

Because anytime someone comments anything not hateful, they get berated in replies by other users, so everyone thinks they’ll get a bunch of “likes” for being ****s.. what’s really funny is, you know that every user talking about how much the walkthrough blows is still referencing it for every minute of their miserable “there aren’t enough souls in this game to get me good at this” game cycle

                                                                  • Anonymous

                                                                    • Anonymous

                                                                      • Anonymous

                                                                          • Anonymous

                                                                            • Anonymous

                                                                              • Anonymous

Almost sadistic, like From Software is laughing at me when I think I finished a boss then there's phase 2, then I think I win.... psyche!! here comes phase 3. Guess that's why we love this game though

                                                                                • Anonymous

                                                                                  • Anonymous

                                                                                    • Anonymous

                                                                                      • Anonymous

                                                                                        • Anonymous

I think we merely saw an alternate world in the ash-filled wasteland was all... it is like how you see the world without fire in the Untended Graves, granted this might muck-up time and space a bit due to the shear reality-changing power behind our actions, but I think the Lothric we see in the main game is still very real at least in some way. It could be just issues with different planes of existence, and how they overlap in the main world is all. Granted, the age of fire is STILL dying, but the world is probably saveable(or destroyable in the case of evil ashen ones)... just the main thing is deciding how to go about that in the end. Then again we undead are cursed to never get validation on such matters... or maybe anything plausible that we can think up has happened in an alternate world in-universe? *shrug*
