Twin Princes' Greatsword is a Weapon in Dark Souls 3.

Sword forged from the reunion of the inseparable swords born from the souls of Lothric and Lorian, the twin princes.

Their union is rooted in a curse, and perpetuated by grief.

Skill: Sacred Light and Flame
While in stance, use normal attack to cast Sacred Lothric Light, and strong attack to cast Flame of Lorian.

Notes and Tips:

  • Cannot be Buffed or Infused.
  • Reinforced with Titanite Scale.
  • At 40 Str 40 Dex 9 Int 9 Faith this weapon has an AR of 540.
  • At 40 Str 14 Dex (minimum) and either 40 Int 9 Faith or 9 Int 40 Faith this weapon has an AR of 521.
  • At 22 Str (minimum) 40 Dex and either 40 Int 9 Faith or 9 Int 40 Faith this weapon has an AR of 537.
  • At 22 Str and 14 Dex with 40 Int and 40 Faith this weapon has an AR of 518.
  • At 40 Str, 40 Dex, 60 Int and 40 Faith this weapon has an AR of 617. This weapon scales poorly with marginal increases in any of the four stats past the 40 softcap.
    • The above stat investments are at +5 refinement using the Knight class. Without heavy investment in all four damage stats this weapon falls short in damage relative to other greatswords; even so, it has a decent AR regardless of how you invest points since it scales well with all stats up to the 40 softcap. In combination with its unique and powerful weapon arts, it remains an effective weapon for any build.
  • Both weapon arts scale with the total AR of the weapon. They are also faster and cost less FP than the equivalent weapon arts of the component swords (Sacred Lothric Light in particular deploys much faster and hits much harder using this sword than with Lothric's Holy Sword).
  • The Weapon Arts require at least 11 (half of the real cost) FP to use at full effect making the off-hand simple infusion strategy somewhat obsolete.

Location/Where to Find

  • You need Lothric's Holy Sword and Lorian's Greatsword, both can be obtained from Ludleth of Courland via Soul Transposition.
  • Barring item trades with other players you will need to defeat Lothric twice (NG and NG+) in order to obtain this weapon
  • Ludleth will only offer to merge the two swords if both are in the player's main inventory when speaking to him. This can be done even if Ludleth has been slain.

If I make this greatsword in NG+, drop it to my friend in NG and he drops it for me on a new character also back in NG would either of us be banned? (I guess this would also answer would you get banned for having items your save should not be able to /yet/ posses).

It might seem a bit underwhelming at first since its scaling is somewhat weak, but its solid power and utility with the two moves makes up for it. It's not optimal super weapon you make entire builds for but its a really useful and fun weapon regardless.

I was a bit disappointed when I first crafted this weapon, and now it's one of my favourites. For certain it's better than the swords it takes to make it. You don't need any faith or intelligence to make it viable at all, as long as you have 40 strength and dex. Naturally, at those stats, a quality greatsword will hit harder, but the weapon art for this sword provides amazing utility which I gladly sacrifice some damage for.

          • Can anyone help?17 Sep 2016 04:15

I accidentally bought the lothric sword twice (im on NG+) and cant get lorians. Would anyone be generous enough to give me lorians sword?
Thanks!

In the description, it says "Barring item trades with other players you will need to defeat Lothric twice (NG and NG+) in order to obtain this weapon". I traded this weapon to a character on NG and it worked. So yes, I did have to get to the end of NG+ on one character, but you can definitely trade it to a character that hasn't.

              • Really?11 Jul 2016 03:59

The only thing that requires a second playthrough (apart from rings) and they give it D scaling?
This sword should be the *****. But it's not.
Why would I give up my dark long sword +10? It's sitting at 488AR and swings twice as fast.
Straight swords need a massive nerf for great and ultras to be considered a good alternative.

People who have never seen this weapons before in pvp will expect nothing when you hold LT. By then it's too late. Get some extra damage with LB
• Wolf Knight's Greatsword vs Twin Princes Greatsword23 Jun 2016 05:35

Anyone know if this sword is effectively better than the Wolf Knight's Greatsword? Currently, my stats for both are

WKG: 254 +209 Physical
TPG: 230 +109 Physical, 152 +33 Fire

This strength character I'm using is more about dealing high damage with moderate speed (hence why I'm not using Ultra Greatswords), so I'm just wondering which would be better for both PvE and PvP. Unless it's one of those things where it just comes down to my skill :P

                    • Soul Calibur19 Jun 2016 15:55

Anyone else think that this and the two swords composing it reference the Soul Calibur series? Yes I know the whole Northern Regalia thing as well but the appearance of the two swords could roughly be Soul Calibur and Soul Edge. Even the Twin Princes' Greatsword itself looks similar to the Soul Embrace (Soul Calibur stabbed into Soul Edge.)
