I farmed 30 of these way to quick at the farrow keep bonfire with 99 luck +3 ring and all the other items discovery goodies. I used that seething chaos spell you can get with the demon prince's soul. It's OP for farming. The ghru's will all crowd around it mesmerized, staring at their inevitable death. Just toss it on the ground near them and they'll all walk over to it. Quick and easy

I farmed the items at "Keep Ruins" at the 3 Ghrus.
I also dropped down to kill the 2 Ghru leapers/hounds. I did like 100+ and the top group (3 Ghrus) dropped "lots of" covenant items whereas the 2 dogs didn't drop any. So I assume the two dogs are not dropping the coventant items. Just kill the 3 Ghrus on the brdige and rinse and repeat.

Took about an hour to farm 9 (1 found on corpse in level, so only need 9) from the 3 on the bridge by the fire. Was fire sellswords L1 spam with about 30 vigor. Walked out with like 200k souls.

(Requires you to not have killed the Abyss watchers). If you get tired of farming at the bridge, go to the area leading up to the Abyss watchers. Run from the keep perimeter bonfire, summon any of the NPCs there and have a free-for-all with the ghrus and the darkwraiths. Lots of fun!

"Some players have reported that melee approach can also be used to quickly kill all three Ghrus." Well yeah.

Since it's an early level, most people would want to farm pretty early so they can get the wolf sword and start their build. Then they won't have very powerful magics. Best then to use a heavy weapon with perseverance, like Vordt's hammer, so you can break their guards and not get staggered yourself. Make sure you can swing it three times. That combo often kills all three.

From 635 kills of Ghrus (I did the 3 next to the Keep Ruins), with 285 item discovery stat, I got 20 swordgrass. That's about 3.15 percent drop rate per Ghru, not great but not terrible.

Compared to the other covenant grinds, this was a breeze. I got all 30 in just 35 minutes at the Keep Ruins bonfire. This was my last grind for NG and I'm happy to report that it's much, much better than any of the others.

Got loads of gems farming these morons. The drop rate is pretty decent, got 30 swordgrass from 192 runs of the 3 Ghrus. About 2-ish hours worth of grind.

The giant Ghrus wielding trees seem to have better drop rates for both this item and heavy gems. I haven't done testing to see if it's more efficient to farm the three around Pharis' gear or not, but probably not considering how much longer they take to kill.

This covenant item farming is actually the legit worst in any game I've ever played. Like holy hodrick how can i kill those guys by the perimeter with Sage rapier, coins, and gold ring +3, run 8 times in a row and none of the enemies drop a single item. Not a shard, no gem, no wep or shield, no grass at all. From Softs rng relies wayyyyy to much on a higher power to literally come down and physically bless you.

Think I like Farron Keep Perimeter the most as a Melee. Sure the darkwright are annoying. But I got around 15 swordgrasses when I got 10 Pale Tongues. Might take 6 hours to farm the rest for now.

I got 15 of these in a bout 40 minutes at the keep ruins bonfire, item discovery at 307 the entire time. Used like 33 coins in those 40 minutes. One of the easiest farms I've done in a souls game.

There’s some good action at the keep with this covenant today. Lots of trespassing, managed to already get 3 in the last 30 minutes. I’ll be trying to get all 30 for the max rank then I’ll be changing to way of blue, maybe help some of the dark moons out there get some summons.

I only have the Crystal Sage's Rapier with base luck 7, but I've farmed 2 swordgrass in the space of 45 mins. Not much in the picture, but it is a lot considering my stats and low discovery. Maybe the guy who provided the stats was super unlucky? I think the chance for swordgrass drops is higher, maybe 3-6%.

The probability calculations seem to be correct. The odds of you getting *at least* one swordgrass when killing the three ghrus by the keep ruins bonfire is ~3.5%(3.4807661952%), assuming of course that the chances of 1.68% from the caster and 0.92% from the shieldbearing are correct. I noticed this, because it is impossible for the chance to get at least one from the three is less than getting one from just the caster. On average this means you have to farm them ~857 times to get 30 swordgrass for the wolf ring, compared to the 2500 times it would take on average if the 1.2% was correct. So hopefully that made someone's day a little brighter. ^^

It seems like noone here knows how to do probability calculations... say, you go to the bridge and kill the three ghrus. they have a probability of two times p1 and one times p2 (poison mage) The probability to get one drop is NOT the average of the three. Rather you must ask: What is the probability that three times I get no drop. Then take 100% minus that to know what the probability is to get exactly one drop. here's the formula p(onedrop) = 1-(1-p1)*(1-p1)*(1-p2) multiply by 100 to get percentages. In our example: p1 = 0.0092 (0.92%) and p2 = 0.0168 ( 1.68%) That gives p(onedrop) = 3.48%.

I'm currently farming for these using the Keep Ruins bonfire and killing the 3 Ghru's on the bridge. I just got 12 in 1.5 hours. I'm using the Covetous Gold Serpent Ring+3, Symbol of Avarice, and Rusted Coins bought off of Patches. Don't know if weapon matters, but I'm using Morion Blade+5. I also took off covenant banner, if that helps

I got this in 3 to 4 hours with 385 item discovery. Very important for melee builds - use the slumbering dragoncrest ring so you don't get detected until attacking the first one. The two shieldbearers have quite long and damaging combos, which in combination with the symbol of avarice and a possible poison effect might kill you, or at the very least slow down your runs. With a sharp murakumo +10 and about 70dex I can kill each in two swings so I just run and kill the first two immediately(with a greatsword they can both be struck at once) leaving the poor remaining shieldbearer to be easily taken 1 on 1.

427 discovery, got only 3 grasses in two hours!!!! I can't believe how stupid this rings achievement is!!! I wonder who was the brilliant executive who thought collecting hundreds of rings throughout hundreds of gameplay hours and at least 3 runs of the whole game (being half of the rings exactly the same***** with a bit of an enhanced version), yeah, this must be the most annoying trophy/achievement in the series, got every other trophy but I'm not sure I'm willing to get this one, I've spent about 200 hours collecting the rest of the trophies and got all base rings with one character, but the wolf covenant is so *****ing annoying!!!

Did several runs st SL 112 I had mimic head, 1 sage rapier, 1 gold ring+0 I farmed the dark wraith+ghru spot My run consisted of killing 2 wraiths, 2 dagger ghrus, 1 caster ghru and 2 spear ghrus - it took me about 40-55 secs for a run. I did around 20 runs: a bunch of swords, eyes and armour. 1 heavy gem, 1 poison gem, 8 tongues, 0 swordgrass

i've done the Keep Ruins bonfire 200 times and i got 13 Wolf's Blood Swordgrass so the probability for 278 ID is 6.5% for the team (2.17% for each one)

i've killed the ghrus in Keep Ruins bonfire. i did 100 times or i killed 300 ghrus. i have 278 item discovery so if item discovery page is true, i had 27.8% extra of item discovery. i found 7 Wolf's Blood Swordgrass so the probability of kill the 3 ghrus with 278 ID is 7% (or 2.33% for each one) for 100 ID, probabilities is 2.52% for the group (0.84% for each one) I'll keep testing with 100 times more, the law of big numbers may give me the thuth

Level 24 with +1 weapon highest upgrade nets me roughly 1-2 invasions every 10 minutes (tested around 2 pm european time on sunday). Just like with blue sentinels, you'd do good starting to collect those early and only once you get 30 wolf grass and around 15-20 concords, move on to the next stages of the game.

Using Lorians Greatsword with a 66 strength build can kill the three on the bridge pretty fast, just use the weapon art with two of the ghrus lined up and it pretty much one shots them. Just have to be careful about the bodies, they can sometimes fall off.

A nice quick route with pale tongues too, start at Farron Keep perimeter. Run out of the door towards Abyss Watchers, but hug the right wall. Pop a rusted coin as you go behind the large tree with a ghru sitting down. Kill him, then run against the wall and aggro two dagger ghru's, and the one on the big hill in the center. Then run in between the two at the top of the stairs, and pull them directly into the darkwraiths. If you do it right, the darkwraiths should get beat up pretty quick, then you can clean up the other ghru's. Basically I aggro all the ghru's and make them fight each other. With 433 item discovery, it's working pretty well, and you don't have to do much. With symbol of avarice, I just pop an estus when I run thru the two on the stairs, and snipe the survivors with a frayed blade beam. Just sharing since it's quick and working for me, idk.

So I'm farming in keep ruins and I have been going at it for 40 min or so and I started to use pyromancy 20 mins in and I feel like for some odd reason that it's making have more of a chance to receive them. Could be convenient but I went from 12 to 24 during this farm.

For farming the three ghru on the bridge, I suggest getting moderately close and targeting seething chaos at the closest one, 50/40 gets me 1258 damage, killing all instantly

Its not really that hard to farm then, in a hour I got 20, with 325 item discovery and sometimes using the +50 ID coin.
I farmed on the 3 Ghrus on the bridge of Keep Ruins bonfire, its pretty easy to kill then with great chaos fireball, just use 1 on each and they will die.

Ok this is how I do it: From Farron keep peremitier, head down to the first three ghrus (twoards the black night) pop a rusted coin and kill them with fast attacks. Head back and kill the one to the right behind the tree. Then wait abit for the Dark Knights to start fighting there other ghrus, then take another coin and proceed to the right and finnish of the remaing ones to the right and outside the boss room. The loot will still be yours even if the Darkies kill them. Hope this helps :)

For Melee STR, Don't do backstab or whatever, it would take too long for each run. Just grab Vordt's Great Hammer. Two hand it. Do not One hand it, as you need the moveset of the two hand great hammer.
Close in to the 2 Ghru, do not lock on, activate Perseverance, this will stun them for a moment, slam twice, face the third one and slam twice again, doesn't matter if the third one blocks or not, it will die on the second hit as you will break through his shield. I think it's because of the frostbite.

Tested with Pyromancer - Big issues was, If you attack from inside the tower, sometimes the Ghru might run off to the side of the tower, if you walk out. Poison Breath may sometimes block your view, if you miss, you might get several slash in your face or stabs. Lower SL will find it taking longer than necessary to farm them. As they won't have the necessary spell or damage to kill them instantly.

Tested with other weapons - Issues were reach, poise and moveset. For melee it is important to kill the first 2 Ghru at the same time, some weapons couldn't attack both, like Greataxes, or couldn't reach the second Ghru or it goes behind you after the first hit. These results in time taking longer than necessary.

Farming ghrus for this is a phenomenal waste of time. On PC run DS3 in windowed mode while tending to other crap on your computer, then when "invading as Watchdog" flashes switch over and earn your swordgrass. I did this on the side when I would be reading up on things or whatever and even at SL120 it only took a few days of doing it here and there. And all of it was actual fun PvP instead of mindless grinding - even if you suck at PvP then you can still get by, plenty of the invasions end up as team battles where you can still help just by being another moving target. The gank squads and circlejerks of the 20-40 range fade out in the higher levels and you get a lot more NG+ people just playing the game.

Received the Wolf Ring and Wolf Knight Greatshield by farming the 3 Ghrus just outside the Keep Ruins Bonfire room, offline without summons /invaders. Wolfsblood Swordgrass is an Extremely rare drop, from them, I reached level 89 by the time I got all 30 Wolfsblood that I needed. Fire Clutch Ring, Great Swamp Ring, Sage Ring, Covetous Silver Serpent Ring, +4 Pyromancy, and Fire Orb. Time tem and hit them when they're lined up and you can kill all 3 of them with 3 or 4 casts from the doorway. Rinse and repeat, the rest of the night. It may only drop from the caster, don't remember exactly.

I just picked up 16 in under 40 minutes. My level 240 Dex/Caster isn't getting summoned to defend the swamp anymore and is way to squishy to keep fighting the super-heavies who lurk, baiting invasions. I used all the usual gear, plus gold coin (pro tip - use a stopwatch to time 60s so you know when it's run out). From the Ruins bonfire there's a paving slab just to the left of the centre of the path which you can stand on to hit two Ghrus with a single Crystal Soul Spear. The dude on the right would always topple over the edge so be sure to catch his item before he gets away. Start casting at the doorways threshold and keep moving forward, you should lock the nearest Ghru before the spell is cast. Take a few steps forward when casting at the right hand Ghru. This saves a few seconds and you can generally get four cycles per coin.
