Here's a big WOOSH! for all the noobs that don't get the intended humor behind killing Yorshka for the chime after grinding out the darkmoon covenant's maximum rank.

      • 25 Oct 2016 14:41

Funny enough, after leveling the Darkmoon blades offline, this felt like a genuine good reward to get.

        A damn good reward.
        Damn damn good.

        Just good.
        Really good....

        Them faith stats tho...hmpf!

        • Cleric NPCs in DS series04 Oct 2016 16:28

Every cleric in this series is somehow screwed up. Greedy DS1 fat guy, Lucia* girl in DS2. So the game wants to make you one too.

          • Proof that From knew covenants were broken on day 111 Sep 2016 23:59

It's like Miyazaki is saying, "Welp, we totally screwed up the whole Blades of the Darkmoon covenant thing. Let's at least give everybody something if they do what we should have done at the beginning and get rid of our main glaring defect for us."

            • dammit fromsoft!+105 Sep 2016 14:41

Why must we kill such a lovely creature for getting the chime???? miracles has already been weak enough and now we have to do murder to get us the best chime?

              • scaling vs crystal and caitha11 Jul 2016 16:57

remember people, these other two chimes only use partial spell buff for certain miracles. the crystal stops its scaling damage at either 40 or 50 faith, even if you have 99, and the same goes for caitha, they only raise there respective hybrid damage, such as dark or sorcery.

                • Other ways to get it?14 Jun 2016 23:11

Is there really no other way to get this chime other than killing the npc? None of the other npcs needed to be killed to get their stuff. They usually die via a quest or have some kind of duplicate item pick up somewhere. Even Cornyx and Yuria have pick ups for their stuff and you never needed to kill them.

                  • A sad tale...26 May 2016 20:59

Bit of a long read, but I hope you guys like this since FROM made it a swift kick to the feels in order to get this chime. This is what I'll be doing after grinding in NG+.

After slaying countless Silver Knights, our hero, the Ashen One, hands over thirty dried ears symbolizing feats of conquest in the name of righteousness. In return, the captain of the Darkmoon Knights, Yorshka, teaches them Darkmoon Blade. They ask why would she teach them this, knowing that it is a spell of vengeance, and she replies that is for the honor of her brother and teaches it in his name. With their quest done, the Ashen One travels further into Lothric in order to find the Lords of Cinder.

With long trials completed, and even linking the fire, the Ashen One ponders what to do before moving into another timeline, NG+. They then notice that they do not have all of the chimes available. According to the guide, Fextra, the last chime that they need is the lonely dragon-crossbreed's chime, the fair Yorshka. The Ashen One asks how to obtain it and Fextra answers with two haunting words, "Kill her," before vanishing into the Abyss. With Fextra's words still lingering in their head like a parasite, they teleport to Yorshka's bonfire.

Upon arriving, Yorshka greets the Ashen One and asks how they are, in her own innocent tone that has no traces of malice or hate. In fact, she replies with a sort of glee that she receives company from one who has visited her on multiple occasions. Still trembling with uneasy thoughts, the Ashen One asks if Yorshka misses Gwyndolin. Looking perplexed, Yorshka answers that she does miss him very much and constantly wonders if he is okay. She then tells the Ashen One that even though she is sad, she still gets joy from every meeting that they have together, and ends her reply with a small laugh. With heart pounding, the Ashen One asks Yorska to close her eyes saying that they have a gift for her. Yorshka does so, but not before giving the Ashen One a look of true innocence: eyes twinkling while smiling softly as if voicelessly accepting anything that her first loyal Darkmoon Knight has to offer. She looks down and covers her eyes, barely containing her excitement.

The Ashen One, now with racing thoughts and thumping heart, knew that it was now or never. Although they did not want to do it, they also knew that in the next timeline she would be alive and not have any memory of the previous. They gripped the handle of their weapon tightly, raised it above their head, and stood there. With shaking hands and tears in their eyes, they muttered the words, "I'm sorry," and slammed the blade of their weapon into Yorshka, ending her life in a single, body crushing attack.

With tears streaming down their face, and holding Yorska's lifeless body, still glowing with innocence and pureness, they silently took her chime and proceeded to move onto NG+, where the horrors of their sin would be forgotten by everyone... but them.

                    • To help ease the pain...09 May 2016 07:41

You wish not to kill dragon waifu? Well think of it like this. the truly faithful (I.E. 50+FTH) will benefit the most from using this chime. For casting easily dodged lightning spears. For casting great heals which are immediately punished and were so not worth it. but most importantly for casting the Darkmoon Blade. It makes sense doesn't it that the best high faith chime allows darkmoon users their best buffs because of the knight captains own weapon. So when you take that one simple swing... feel not remorse for you do the darkmoon a great service by allowing it to outshine anything.... even the sun :)

                      • her brother02 May 2016 22:58

it says her brother is the Former Knight Captain. possibly the dragonslayer ornstein? orn is considered the captain of the knights of gwynn, now that all the knights are dead, that would make him the Former captain.

                        • Buffing +9 to +10?01 May 2016 01:23

What does buffing it from +9 to +10 do? The only thing it apparently changes is the physical attack power. Is there something else that isn't shown that makes it worth using a slab? Thanks.
