Why does this damage type even exist? The base damage nerf you get for infusion makes the scaling irrelevant and the healing is not very impressive. All the enemies that are weak to it don't show up nearly enough to justify it's use for the purpose of killing them. Skeletons are almost exclusively located within Carthus and very rarely show up anywhere else and when they do it's usually just a few normal ones which should not be hard to kill. All the reianimated corpses are only in the very beginning of the Cathedral of the Deep (with the exception of the one or two that appear in Irythill dungeon for some reason). Finally, Sulyvahn's beasts are incredibly weak to both bleed and fire which are both far more universally helpful damage types that you are better off investing in instead of getting blessed for just these guys and the corpses/skeletons.

Greatest weapons to put one of these in with the greatest damage returns for faith are the dragon slayers axe (Creighton invasion) and the lothric knight greatsword.

If anyone's thinking about upgrading a weapon/shield just for the hp regen then save your slab the Ethereal Oak shield and Ancient dragon greatshield give you the same effect without the upgrade blessed at +10 is 3hp/1.5s(120 hp 60s)
And the 2 shields I mentioned heal 2hp/1sec(120hp 60s)
So unless you intend to parry or something else with the blessed item save your slab!

It's criminal how the game baits you with A and S scaling on almost everything with this infusion, but it lowers the base damage by so much that it's very rarely ever worth using for anything but an offhand parry tool. At 19 STR, which is not enough to one-hand a Cathedral Knight Greatsword, and 60 (!!!) faith, Heavy CKGS still outdoes Blessed in the damage department. An infusion scaling off an insufficient stat gives better damage than an infusion scaling off a level 60 stat, both with A scaling (and Blessed still marginally scaling off STR and DEX as well). That's absurd.

I think if done right, blessed gem is actually decent. A lot of people said that it's useless in PvP, but if you treat it like an additional damage reduction instead of a regen mechanism, you can kinda see where it shines.

Let's say that you have an LKGS build with caestus, all infused with bless. In addition to the sun princess ring, you'd have 6 HP/s regen. If on average, in PvP, you get hit at every 5 seconds, you would actually have reduced your opponent's damage by 30 per swing.

Not to mention that it's great in prolonged fights and cat & mouse invasions. Saves your estus by a lot.

Pair a blessed gem with a mace or another strike weapon to have a great skeleton smashing tool. Most skeletons stagger/shatterfall when hit with strike.

If you are trying to farm this the best spot imo is at the cathedral of the deep bonefire. There is an evangelist over a bridge 10 seconds away from the bonfire. Kill her run back to bonfire to make her respawn. Continue process until he drops. Hope this helps

From what I've seen you can buff certain infused weapons. If you buff a Blessed Caestus +10 with Blessed Weapon, does the regen stack?

Just had one drop from the Cleric Hollows in Lothric Castle, just by the first bonfire inside. It's super rare, though; only got one after dozens of runs while farming souls/Chunks from the Knights with Gold Serpent and Chesthead.

To specify, I got one Blessed Gem to drop from a black-robed Hollow that uses its chime to buff allies next to the Lothric Castle bonfire.

One can be found at the very top of Lothric Castle, dropping in a hole in the area upstairs at the opposing side of the big bridge leading to Lorian and Lothric room.

No ones talking about it but when you infuse an innate lightning weapon like the lothric greatsword dragonslayer axe and drakeblood greatsword the lightning damage still scales with the faith scaling that's been improved with blessed weapon so you can make some really powerful weapons that heal as well.

Corvian Storytellers do NOT drop blessed gems. They basically drop the opposite (hollow gems). Whoever put that in is an idiot.

This is really good for a faith build. If you have 60 faith and put blessed gem on any lightning weapon it will actually give more damage than a lightning infusion. It will at the same time regen your health.
If you put blessed gem on drakeblood greatsword it gets 600+ AR (it will make both the magic and lightning damage scale with faith).

So I have a SL 802 character that I did some testing with blessed gems on EVERY +10 infusable weapon in the game. Usually you lose a lot of dmg (in most cases around 100 or so) when you slap a blessed gem on a weapon. There are a small handful of exceptions tho. I'm not including the obvious 3 lightning weapons that do more dmg when blessed.

The Exile greatsword, Lothric straight swrd, Caestus, Lothric War banner, and Follower Sabre. They lose very little dmg with a blessed gem. These would make good wpns for a faith/heal build.

There is ONLY 1 weapon in the whole game that only does physical dmg and gains AR from a blessed gem. It's not worth mentioning tho because only a mad hollow would ever consider using it ;)

Even tho it is considered as one of the less useful infusions, as it has only a good use for carthus area and HP regen. It is quite good for pure faith meta builds to get physical damage. It's nothing too crazy, but viable.

Did Wolnir with a Blessed Mace on my Cleric (because why not), worked rather well. And I do enjoy the Regen together with Ethereal Oak Shield. (Read also elsewhere, that Blessed is nice on LKGS, so I might get Blessed on that aswell.)

They also drop from the Evangelists from the Cliff underside bonfire. After the Fire Demon mini boss fight, climb towards the building loitered with dogs and the caged mobs until you find 2 evangelists.

I just had a Blessed Gem drop from one of the two Cathedral Evangelists just before Flynn's Ring in the Undead Settlement. The Cathedral Evangelist page mentions this as a possible drop, but the Blessed Gem Page here does not list this at all. Someone may want to update the page to reflect this.

I've noticed that many infusable weapons that also have connections to a specific group of enemies do particularly well with gems that reference said groups. (i.e. Lothric Knight weapons doing well with Refined infusions and Carthus weapons doing well with Sharp infusions.) In the case of Winged Knights though their weapons do pretty terrible damage with their associated gem which is the Blessed Gem. This is especially disappointing if you want to do accurate roleplay or even just want it for the sake of being cool and interesting. Blessed infusion is a tragedy in this game and using beyond a very select few weapons and off hand items is a bad idea.

i like the way in the description of which enemy drops it says possible , not even a proof , only possible... on a 3 years old game , we can clearly deduce the ones listed as possible don’t drop it ... personally , the only one I got is from 20 hours of farming the winged knight in high wall of lothric , I was farming his halberd to make a beyblade character , and I got a blessed gem after about 12 hours , so , i’m guessing it has a 0.5% drop chance , if you want my advice , search where you have an actual drop like on the top of the cathedral of the deep , also I reccomend using as less as possible blessed weapon since there are few ones to get

Running a Sorc mid-game right now (first playthrough) with STR = 10 and FTH = 7: 1. Infusing a simple club with a Blessed Gem makes the Catacombs of Carthus less tiresome. Even those fast bleed inducing ones go down (shattered) when hit and one can just keep pounding on them. Not much damage per strike, of course, but it is cathartic and effective none-the-less. Figured this build/playthrough would never use a Blessed infusion on a primary weapon, so a niche choice like this has worked nicely. 2. It seems that the Blessed infusion on a shield - specifically the Red & White Shield - requires the shield to be wielded to gain the HP regen, not simply in one of the three equipment slots. Beg pardon if that was generally understood.

Only really useful for parrying weapons. The hp regen is definetely noticeable, but it's unlikely to help in pvp. Getting 300 hp regenerated would take 150 seconds at max reinforcement, and even then that might not be enough to survive another hit.

Hp Regen Giant Door Build is nasty. It gets A scaling in faith and only loses 30ish base damage. With faith regen spells and other regen items it can be efficient in turtleing extremely hard

Sigh. You can start infusing these already after Farron Keep yet there is only a grand total of two guaranteed available for each run in the base game. Quality design.

Other infusions almost always provide more AR (sometimes more than double), and this makes blessed infusion worthless for most situations excluding parry shields. I mean, 2hp/sec is marginal benefit considering you bricked your weapon. However, there are few exceptions, where blessed gem is obviously the best choice (providing you have high faith):
-Lothric Knight Greatsword
-Drakeblood Greatsword
-Dragonslayer's Axe
-etc.
For example, Blessed Lothric Knight Greatsword (24/16/40 str/dex/fth) has 655 AR. At 60 faith it reaches 700. Remember: blessed gem increases >innate< lightning damage the most effectively. DON'T infuse other weapons! S scaling worth nothing if the base damage is halved.

Lothric long sword blessed has a C Dex S faith scaling at +10. I'm not one for trying to get the most OP weapon. So this one works very well. Blessed weapons are definitely slept on due to the meta. Same as hollow builds. Only builds I use lol

Finally, got one Blessed Gem. This is after I killed the Winged Knight at High Wall of Lothric fountain about 30-40 times. I wore the Symbol of Avarice.

The only primary weapon I can see benefit from this is Lothric Knight Greatsword since it has lightning damage that would scale with this gem, and can still be infused.

Is there anything else I'm missing, does it affect lightning buffs too?

I created a luck/faith build that mainly uses the anri str sword for damage. Since it can be buffed you stack its innate regen properties with blessed weapon and on the left hand the etherial oak shield, the sun princess ring and if time allows bountiful light (thats 5 regens stacked up). My second left hand shield is the small leather shield which I figure has the superior parry, low requirements and can be acquired as soon as the first bonfire on the undead settlement. THAT is the only item I bless which makes it easier to get a superior regen build without tons of farming.

I havent lost a single match as a spear of the church with this character ;)

so, never having used blessed weapons fo rdamage, if i got this right, blessed gems are the best when using weapons that do elemental(only lightning?) damage by base and/or when one has a *****ton of faith levels but not much on STR,DEX or luck but still wants pure phisical damage?

i mean... if that's case, cool, it's not useless, still more useful in a good many cases than the simple gem, but that's still some quite specific utility.

Blessed weapon effect against skeletons reanimators didn't work for me when I was called for coop in the catacombs. tested the same weapon solo and there it worked without problems. Skeletons didnt stand up a 2nd time. testing area were the shortel skeletons in the second boulder area and the skeleton horde at the fire demon.

Been farming 2 Priests in Lothric Castle near the Lothric Castle bonfire... 130+ kills with sage rapier and avarice (didn't have avarice on all the time killing the knight for the first 300k souls, so def more than 130 just not sure how much more)... still no blessed gems... I know they do drop from them as I've gotten them before, but... damn is do evangelists or the winged knight have a higher % chance? Or is it just horrible across the board?

I've been trying to farm a Blessed gem from the Evagelist in Undead Settlement for 2 hours. Still no drop. If you feel like putting yourself through it, go for it. But I suggest just hurrying through Sage and grabbing your gem in the Cathedral of The Deep. The drop rate for this gem from Evangelist must be insanely low so yea, I suggest just grabbing it in CoTD!

I found a pretty good farming spot if you have the DLC The Ringed City

Go to Ringed City Streets' bonfire, equip a high AR weapon and try to get as much item discovery as possible (avarice symbol, rusted and gold coins, crystal sage rapier, covetous gold serpent ring +3...), exit the bonfire to get to the swamp, rush to the left without spawning the Harald Legion Knights to find 1 Hollow Cleric near a ladder that will rush you by spinning, then2 Hollow Clerics in a corner on the right after the ladder.

I think it's the fastest farming method if you need blessed gems, I got three in less than 15 minutes with just rusted coin (maybe I just got lucky, but it's what I think).

Another method would be going through the swamp by staying on its left, fighting a first Hollow Cleric on a little chapel, then 3 on the hill on the right, then 5 right after going down the hill. It takes some time, but you have 9 targets instead of 3.

With the latest patch blessed gem based regeneration tanks build is possible. Currently using Greatsword (UGS) infused with blessed gem on 28 Str , 10 dex and 39 faith, two handed it deals 512 (200 + 312) physical damage at +10. Not as high as what a quality build would get, but still strong enough to destroy enemies, coupled with high vitality and absorption, it becomes a very durable build with sun princess ring and blessed caestus.

Oh, this is interesting. Lothric Knight Greatsword, when Blessed +10 A scaling in Faith, isshowing a 705 2h AR with 18 Str 18 Dex 60 Faith. From what I can tell, it looks like the Lightning Damage on the weapon when infused with Blessed scales off the Faith stat. That's from the mugenmonkey, as this build is not that far yet, so I can't see the actual numbers.

Oki I looked on my 55 Faith 35 Strength 18 Dex build. It would seem that the Lightning damage indeed scales with Faith. Here are the numbers.

Blessed Lothric Greatsword+10
Scaling D in STR, C in DEX, A in FAITH

Physical: 185 + 280 (2h 290) = 465 (475)
Lightning: 113 + 127 = 240
so 707 1h, 717 2h

Compared to the Lightning +10 with same stats:
Scaling D in STR, D in DEX, and A in FAITH
(the A is red which would seem that the Faith scaling is weaker than Blessed)

Physical: 157 + 55 (2h 62) = 212 (219)
Lightning 231 + 239 = 470
so 682 1h, 689 2h

So in conclusion, Blessed seems to be the better infusion on the LKGS. Tho the Lightning does considrable more Lightning damage.

Another thing to point out, with the new patch. On a dedicated faith build with low str and dex investment, Blessed infusion is now stronger than uninfused, heavy, sharp, refined, and raw upgrade paths. At least on weapons that scale S in faith, which is quite a few from what I can tell. it seems all the weapons that previously scaled A, now scale S. The list can be found here:
