Antiquated Plain Set is an Armor in Dark Souls 3 The Ringed City DLC.

Ordinary garb from an ancient land of sorcery. The gold embellishments betray a faint residue of magic, but this clothing was never intended for battle.

When a mission visited the Ringed City long ago, one of its younger missionaries elected to stay behind. It was he who became the last recorded Spear of the Church.

Location/Where to Find

  • Antiquated Plain Garb and Violet Wrappings can be found right before the Darkeater Midir boss fight. From the Ringed Inner Wall Bonfire take the shortcut path on the left and take the lift down. On the left wall of the lift about halfway down is a side passage and roll onto it as you go. Take a left until you come to a room with Silver Knight Statues, and hit the right statue on the wall, that of a Silver Knight missing its blade, to reveal an illusory wall. Climb the ladder down and you will see the set in the center of the room, in front of a fog gate.
  • The Loincloth can be found in the swamp in The Dreg Heap surrounded by Poisonhorn Bugs

Purple tones are tragically rare in the base game so it was satisfying to find this in the dlc. The garb pairs well with the shadow set leggings, the black witch hat, and off-white colored items like in the jailer, pale shade, or court sorcerer sets.

Looks nice with Shira's Crown, Evangelist Trousers for a close-enough white with some protection, and Mirrah gloves. Faraam boots are also a good pick, as someone pointed out below. Nice and fashionable for light-armored characters

Shira's Crown, Antiquated Plain Garb, Violet Wrappings, Shira's Trousers, and the Dancer's Twin Blades for a nice blade dancer type aesthetic.

          • Anonymous

The garb looks pretty good with the black witch veil, herald trousers and the shadow gauntlets. Frayed blade matches very well too since the weapon art has this purpurish colors, another weapon could be Greatsword of judgement, once again for its purple tones on the sword art.

I got a phantom named sauske uchiha to help me with the Twin Princes fight. He wore this and used a katana, the resemblance was uncanny

Followers sabre and this set give a pretty good pirate vibe. For head, I use the blindfold mask since I'm also casting black fireball.

This Is my fav light armor. I usually wear It when using bigass weaponry. It goes extremely well with ringed knight Hood and dragonscale waistcloth and gloves. I'd like to try the chest piece of this with the rest of the armor of the earthen peak hotties

There's a blue mask that raises pyromancy power, I can't remember it's name but I'm sure is complimentary to this set.

Looking at the comments. This looks fine on a female character. Hell it looks hot. I'm not gonna pretend to be a prude to look good or respectful, because there's no disrespect in finding something attractive. In fact, it's the opposite. Who doesn't wanna be seen as attractive? On top of the fact that these characters aren't real... Anyway it looks good on a guy too. Girls enjoy dudes' chests too. It's universally sexy, just seen moreso on a woman because of breasts not being commonly seen on top of our general liking of curves and contours. It's a great pirate look for guys and gals, and a gal brave enough to wear it is sexy not just because you get to see skin, but because bravery and being outgoing is generally a sexy trait. Also it's a good and historically-practiced battle tactic for distracting (male) enemies.

as she enters through the fog the soul of cinder prepares to attack. she yells look at thy chest, the cinder beast becomes enthralled. as he nears her the words heir of fire defeated appears as he notices her sword in his chest. then exhaled and said well***** as he fell for her gesture called show 'humanitybreasts'

                        • Changed the first note to only include the DLC loincloth to be complimentary as they aren't part of any set but fit quite well with this set. Blindfold Mask, Black Witch Veil, and Black Witch Hat on the other hand are part of other set (Black Witch) and thus shouldn't be stated to be complimentery to other set.

my favourite chestpiece in the ringed city. i love the colours! for me this is definitely female clothing, but everyone can make his character look like he/she wants so i won't judge if you put this on a male (it does have a corset though), in Bloodborne you can even wear a fancy dress as male.
My Set: Shira's Crown + THIS + Sunset Gauntlets + Black Leather Boots + Follower's Sabre = Pyro Pirate! (0 pts for defense, 100 pts for style).
[the Pyro is my specific build with this, of course you could say regular melee Pirate as well]

Now I'm not sure about the Blindfold Mask, however Loincloth(DLC ver.) is obviously a set with these, since the purple leg warping is perfect colour match with the fist wrap.

It looks fine and natural on females too. It's was only a matter of time someone was gonna try to complain while disguising it as "proper/gentlemen's consideration for the female form".

                                • ...is it just me, or does this not actually look all that great on female characters? Like, not in regards to the stylizing of the cloth/general aesthetic (for which I could give less of a damn about in regards to sex), but the chest. You know, the bit that's open, that's most noticeably different from a male specifically? Maybe it's just me, but it seems to do something really weird with the female bust modeling, and it ends up all odd-shaped and droopy. Not even flat-chested, strictly speaking, just... oddly shaped.

Of course, I bear nothing at all against ladies who in real life have unusual body shapes (which I feel should go without saying, but you know how it is these days.) I do not, however, desire to create such a character with that particular body type, much less to have a piece of clothing I acquire look dramatically different than expected due to a weird maybe-error in the development process that converts my character's body shape into something entirely different for that one piece of clothing alone...

This being the case as it is, I'd definitely say it looks better on the male character model. If I wanted to dress a "sexy" female character, I think I'd just recommend the Desert Pyromancer Garb (at least, in that it shows the most skin.) Of course, I personally think there's much more to being "sexy" than just lelbewbs. If that's your bag, by all means go for it (it's a free world, after all), but I personally prefer the Fire Keeper set. Looks absolutely gorgeous...

sure this is girls only stuff? It reminds me a bit of Sasuke from Naruto and what he was wearing (kind of japanese clothes). Combined with other ninja, japanese like clothes it could actually look decent on males aswell.

My female characters are all beef jerky mode anyway, so I'll stick to the Dancer Set and its glorious ass
                                      Armor > Cloth

                                      • Anonymous

Reads comments; realizes that other peoples characters might not look like beef jerky.
:\ Also the sexism in the comments, sweet Gwyn people.
I've always loved that dark souls games let you(for the most part) wear the same cloths on either gender.
Want a big burly hairy guy in a frilly dress? Go for it!
Havel's Set doesn't turn into a bikini because your char has tits? Bad ass.

Is there actually any reason to believe the loincloth in the DLC is part of the same set as the antiquated plain garb and violet wrappings? The description of the loincloth doesn't seem to imply any sort of relation.

                                          • Anonymous

I think this armor looks bad for a female character.
But if you pair the chest piece with deserter trousers (or no pants)+pharris hat and equip a falchion/sabre you totally look like a pirate!

                                            • Anonymous

Loin cloth is found in the swamp area before the Demon boss fight. Chest piece and gloves are found in the room before Darkeater Midir

                                              • Anonymous

The chest piece can be found on the elevator shortcut just after where you meet the dragon for the first time. Facing the way you get onto it from the top, get off on the left half way down. This'll take you to a corridor - take a left when the path diverges and hit the rightmost wall in this room to find it was an illusory wall. Here's a room that has a corpse containing the item and down the drop, the optional boss.

                                                • Anonymous

Awesome, now we can complete our saucy, open-chested, Latino men characters.

Who's ready for Dead Rising's very own Carlito Keyes?

                                                  • Anonymous

I'm noticing a lot of van service styled clothing in this dlc. You got the desert pyros with there and this, But not gonna lye I m ok with it, also not because at the moment my character I'm using for this is male so I feel a little coped out. That's why I decide to make a new character to play through this with.

                                                    • Anonymous

This set will compete with pyro for second sexiest armor in the game!
Well all now that Smough's armor is numero uno.

                                                      • Anonymous

HOT! I love it that they are making these sexy outfits that actually makes your characters chest look hot.
