Assassin Set is an Armor in Dark Souls 3.
Soft leather armor worn by assassins who lurk in the shadows.
The thick leather offers reasonable absorption without creating any undesired noise. A well-crafted piece of protection.
Critical spots are reinforced with metal.
Location/Where to Find
- Starting gear for the Assassin
- This is sold by Greirat for 6000 souls. After rescuing him from his cell in High Wall of Lothric and giving him Loretta's Bone you will later be able to send him to pillage Undead Settlement. Check back after defeating your next boss and he will sell it. (see Greirat's page for more details on his questline)
Notes and Tips
- There seems to be a weird bug (PC) where if you wear all the set but the Assassin Hood and you instead swap it for Thief Mask the enemies do not see you (still testing). Tried with several enemies at Smouldering Lake, Catacomb of Carthus, Farron Keep and they all kept ignoring my character until I made physical contact with them.

Cue the "OMG GUYS WE'RE THE THIRD BLACK HAND OMGDIIEEUSUSGSIUSUSUI" headcanon
Honestly, I dearly love and miss the Wanderer set from Dark Souls 1 and 2, but this will have to do as my Dark Souls 3 "Wanderer Set".
Mephala cloak you
is the bug still working now?
Looking pretty darn close to the Black Hand Armor piece.
Anyone looking to trade it for something or just doesnt want it? My greirat is dead and i didnt get it for my character.
When you put down a message that uses a gesture while wearing this set (including the hood), it displays your character wearing the Black Hand Armor set wearing what looks to be the Hood of Prayer. It's probably because the Assassin set is basically a simpler version of the Black Hand set, and I'm guessing most hoods use the Hood of Prayer when being used for messages.
This set (not just the legs) helps mask noise. Not sure if it's for all enemies, but wearing this full set let me sneak up to the Blue Knight right before Vordt to get a backstab in. Wearing a different (but still light) set and he'd turn around before I was anywhere close.
Greyrat may sell it after thieving for first time
