Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has: Regular(R), Thrust(T), Slash(Sl), Strike(St)

Cool fact about the weopon art, there's a small hit box behind you where the sword pokes out.

I had good fun in pve weapon art swapping to the dragonslayer greataxe, a natural 1,000+ AR with just weapon buffs was damn crazy.
Quick question though, would it be unethical for me to use this in pvp? I'd imagine it's a little unfair since you can't get this much damage otherwise.

Sir Alonne, Lady Maria, and Master Ishin would approve these legendary skill.
The one which came after this art is absolutely Cancer and member of flashy casul
Even The Luminary Lord of Blood himself will die from cringe if the Cancer is used at his bossfight

Less AR emthan Frayed Blade, even with buff active on 80 Dex build. This will save someone a slab.
- Anonymous
Laugh at it as much as you like. But if you're up against it and it's buff is active, fkin run.
- Anonymous
7 luck + buff = 55 bleed
40 luck + buff = 69 bleed
This will be important to someone, I'm sure

God if only this thing was actually big, I had a lot of fun using Alonne's sword in DS2 pve and I feel like this thing's damage, while strong, is crippled by the weapon's lack of reach. At high levels it feels like it's outclassed in every regard by the Chaos Blade, which has slightly higher bleed and phenomenal dex scaling, just slap a blessed caestus or parry shield on to mitigate the self-damage and you're golden

Rivers of Blood's much less cancerous/brainless older brother.

I literally invaded someone as a watchdog of Farron and killed the other invader (it was an npc) then proceeded to stab myself to death.
Dude was so happy.

Its listed AR is horrendous, but the weapon art buff is incredibly strong. That said, keeping the WA active will tax your resources, so it's overall but very good, but it is fun.

have some questions about bloodlust
1. does the buff work on other weapons?
2. is it worthwhile to level luck for bleed buildup, or should I go full dex?
- Anonymous
When you buff it it gets great damage and INCREDIBLE bleed build up. Top tier bleed weapon for anyone doing a dex build instead of a luck build. Much better damage than the weapons that build bleed faster. If you're doing a luck build then the best is probably a hollow Onikiri-Ubadachi with bleed resin, but otherwise this thing is incredible for bleed. Blood Crow Talons might outdo it for buildup with their weapon art, but the damage on this thing makes up for that by a lot. Relatively straightforward weapon other than the damage you need to do to yourself for the WA. 10/10 would stab myself again.

Ds players: the buff isn't worth a chunk of health
BB players: Ah sweet I was wondering when I'd get to stab myself for a blood weapon

Do not fear, random blue! I shall not black crystal out and cuck you out of your concord!

At first i thought hitting the enemy behind you with the wa was a common joke. Turns out it's this weapon's most damaging attack
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
i dont get why people **** on the weapon art so much, its genuinely good if you have high enough luck to tank the bleeding
- Anonymous
WA buff actually gives it more physical damage than some of the strongest katanas like chaos blade. Not a bad tradeoff for some health

This sword is actually has a strict upgrade weapon that many players have heard of but only the best ever use which is pkcs. This sword can kill you if you use the WA too much but pkcs users never lose invasions because of our A+ skill and op pkcs. The pkcs WA kills hosts so fast sometimes I lose track of how many phantoms I’ve killed until I see all the estus refills, then I get pale tongues which go to my storage box because I killed so many hosts with my pkcs. No enemy or player can resist pkcs, and pkcs p0wnzrs every Casul part-time mound maker who tries to use bloodlust.

Sigma grindset rule #2914: Stab yourself to gain the upper hand in battle.

“Die with honor or live like a coward”
-Can’t remember who quoted this
Finally managed to get the Shackles needed after a loooooong night as a purpal in Cathedral (helping people get through and open the shortcuts, then fighting them upon returning to the bonfire), and my first words were: "YES I CAN GET THE MEME SWORD"
I then promptly stabbed myself to death and giggled like a maniac the whole time.
Life is good.

I found another use for the weapon art in PvP is if someone's fishing for a backstab you can hit them with it, it has a larger hitbox than you might think and the damage is pretty good

Let me share my experience with this weapon. I was a very friendly mad invader. A mad phantom there was very naughty. he attacked me with a spell... some spell...they're all weak in this game... i didnt mind it the first couple of times... . i walked to him, turned backs to him, and he started pointing down.. for ME!!!! i got mad. I used the weapon art and he instantly died.

Wish you could've buffed the blade with a spell or resign for some more damage. Really no reason why it shouldn't. Sunlight Straight Sword has WA buff and can be spell/resign buffed as well. Why no Bloodlust? :(
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
This is nearly useless because the buff window is kinda small but if you have life ring +3 and Lloyd's Shield Ring on, you can WA at full health, swap the life ring to something else and be back at full health to enable LSR again but with your bloodlust now buffed. (Depends on your stats and armor too but, hey.)

Never use this when you see gankers, if you die they'll just get more estus. Black crystal out instead.

Well, for someone who is mad like Hodrick doesn‘t worries about their life

Most WA: Helpful, situational, or generally mundane
Bloodlust: "F**king kill yourself man"
- Anonymous
Has higher bleed than CCS on a hollow build with rouge. Tested agains Nameless King and to my own surprise Bloodlust always performed better! The attack windows of NK are a perfect match for this katana to proc bleed regularly. Stormking gets also destroyed after a few swings against his beak.

This Weapon Art is useful for those situations when you invade and see the host and their 3 white phantoms gank a fellow red phantom into oblivion, so you can deny them the satisfaction of ganking you.

QoL upgrade for those invading just to give shackles to hosts lol

Wish they did something more interesting for bloodlust like an improved move set in blood form or something. It's super fun to use and the high bleed damage catches people off guard but in every other category it falls behind the other katanas. The only time i can recommend it in pve is against bosses susceptible to bleed cause the bleed damage will tear through them but only if you can stay aggressive, otherwise just use any other katana to get more consistent numbers. I do like stabbing myself as a sign of dominance in pvp tho, the only blade that kills me is mine.

it'd be a lot more fun weapon to use if it wasn't so annoying to get

That wa buff isn t the same effect as carthus rouge. The bloodlust s buff adds bleed AND increases it s max ar

More stylish than using the black crystal. Good for saying "I'd rather spend 5 seconds killing myself than 10 minutes with your gank ass"
- Anonymous
Two ways to make the sword instantly better: 1. The weapon art changes the attack animations and the blade's length. 2. The WA activates if you kill an enemy with a riposte or backstab.
- Anonymous
Just FYI, the WA doesn't buff the flat AR, only the physical damage, so if you try to Weapon-art-swap it onto a weapon like the moonlight greatsword or any other weapon that does mainly magic/dark/fire/lighting damage, it'll only buff the low physical damage, and not the high non physical damage. Basically, no bloodmoon sword for you, unless you're cool with awful AR and top-teir style

Can you one shot yourself with this weapon? I want be be summoned as a spear of the church and immediately kill myself. With the calamity ring and stuff.

this weapon is just fun for using the weapon art and quickly switching to a big ass weapon to see a massive weapon go through your chest or parry the weapon art in general for giggles

tbh I only want this weapon just to stab my self when im about to die as a phantom

this katana makes me want to make a new character , make Kermit the frog , call it Dead meme then invading people just to stab myself in front of them , then let my imagination go about what they think when they see that

Potential glitch I encountered recently (appears to be repeatable): With an unupgraded Bloodlust at SL40 (nowhere near the stats to actually use it), I was able to 1 hit invading red spirits by stabbing myself if they were standing behind me (average of 500 damage). Compared to the 6-7 damage I was doing with the WA buff on a regular R1, this was quite odd. My friend, with an upgraded one he could actually properly wield was dealing about 1/3 the damage I was to the same invader. No idea why any of this was happening but it was amusing. Perhaps someone can find an actual use or explanation for this.
