Lost Sorcery from Oolacile, land of ancient golden Sorceries. Casts a light to illuminate surroundings.
This light producing magic is elementary, but nonetheless demonstrates the pure nature of golden sorceries;
the likes of which have not been developed even at the Dragon School.
Acquired From
- Bought from: Orbeck of Vinheim for 1,000 souls after giving him the Golden Scroll.
Notes
- The spell is the Sorcery equivalent of the Weapon Art Guiding Light and the Torch. However, the Torch has the advantage of burning off leeches and Guiding Light provides additional messages left by the developers. Cast Light could make up for this by being hands free, however there aren't many dark areas in Dark Souls 3 where such things would be necessary.
- Lasts for 1 minute.

Fun fact: of all the spells fromsoftware has ever made, this is widely considered to be one of them. If I’m not mistaken, even Miyazaki considers this sorcery to be one of the ones which are in the game. Truly awe inspiring. This is also considered by many to be one of the spells in the game which have letters in the name, though this remains somewhat disputed in the community.

There are no dark places in this game, unlike in DS1. What's the point of this spell?

Rest in peace gael and midir. Strongest most broken spell in the game please swing that nerf bat Fromsoft.

Reflective objects, like some windows will glow absurdly brightly when you use this, no matter how far away you are from them. Not practical in any way, just a little visual bug. About as interesting as this spell can get.

It would be interesting if it caused illusion walls to flicker or shine.

I only use this, so I have my both hands free to cast spells...and fashion souls.

Best spell in that game. Can't believe no one else has found it's hidden use!

Does this spell have a use for an extended story is it to be used with that gender walk ring for fashion souls runway addition? But why yo....why the actual *****? Why so much usually***** why are some armors that have more metal weigh less than ones with less and then still have more defenses. Like***** it's fun and all but disappointing when half way through they said ***** it. Bloodborne was better imo, nothing was useless to my knowledge, not even the doll should you use her.

There is a limited use to this spell in PvP, albeit undoubtedly unintentional. The orb of light is barely ahead of the player, which can be used as a sort of yard stick, if you will, for spacing and also to assist in free aiming spells or weapon arts.
In Dark Souls 1 Cast Light lasts FIVE minutes and now in dark souls 3 it lasts ONE minute? lol. I don't think there are a lot of places (if at all) in dark souls 3 where you would need cast light but for when you do it's stupid that you would have to cast it every 60 seconds.

So whenever I jolly cooperate (f**k you guys that invade) others use a spell (?) that places a magic orb into their bodies, is this it?

When your just screwing around and you cause a host to roll off a cliff expecting the CSS or something XD

For when you want PVP players to spot you from a mile away, while wasting an attunement slot. Just shoot a soul stream in the air or drop a bunch of prism stones and loot. Even in the "Only Dark Area" of the game, you could just walk pass everything with hidden body, with sounds masked. It just makes you look cool. Like Crystal Hail.

1 minute duration? 20 FP? I can just buy the Torch for 300 souls and have something that will remove leeches and ***** too.Another garbage garbage utility Sorcery.

If anyone can help out with the location that'd be great. This seems better than lugging a torch around, even if it isn't neccessary like the torch as well.
Shame that FROM won't implement a concentration/continuous spell duration, where a spell will last indefinitely but caps its FP cost from your total FP pool.
So if the continuous spell costs 20 FP and your FP pool is a total of 500, while the spell is active, your effective FP pool would be 480 until the spell was dispelled.
