Eyes of a Fire Keeper Usage
- Can be given to the Fire Keeper in the hub version of Firelink Shrine. She will then offer to "remove fire from the world".
- Talking to Ludleth the Exiled while in possesion of the eyes will change his dialogue to explain the background story of the untended graves and the owner of the eyes.
- The effects of giving the eyes to the Fire Keeper changes the Firelink Shrine music, changes the Fire Keeper`s dialogue, as well as providing option of the Betrayal Ending.
- If the Fire Keeper is killed after giving her the eyes, the eyes will be returned to the player and then everything will become as if you had never given them in the first place. Note that you can still return the eyes to her after this happens.
Eyes of a Fire Keeper Locations
- Found in the dark Firelink Shrine in the Untended Graves secret area. Located on the floor at the end of the lower west hallway behind an illusory wall, in the same location where the cleric, Irina of Carim, resides in the hub world.
- Fextra Video Location
Notes
- In some instances sending Irina of Carim to the Firelink Shrine before finding the eyes will cause the illusory wall and the eyes to disappear.
Story & Lore
- These eyes belong an overarching theme that couples the human pupils to a more profound, spiritual darkness [1].

Irina apparently drops the Tower Key when killed, and moves there during her storyline. This might point to her really being a reincarnation of the firekeeper who first owned these eyes that Ludleth speaks about.. She might have been born blind because she removed her eyes in her previous life.

It's the Eyes of the Keeper
It's the Ash of the Night
Rising up to the challenge of our Phantoms
And the last known Unkindled
Wants to burn out the Light
And She’s watching us all with the Eyes of the Keeper

I thought they were blueberries and ate them.
They didn't taste like blueberries...

Since you find them on a corpse in the Untended Graves where Irina sits in the normal firelink shrine, is it possible that irina is the dead firekeeper in the untended graves? Maybe an alternate version of herself like how the Shrine Handmaid is in both places at the same time?

Why does this page called the "End of Fire" ending, the "betrayal" ending? Doesn't really make sense unless it is mentioned as such somewhere in the game. Linking the Fire would be the betrayal as you are Undead Human ie. you should work to bring about the end of the Age of Lords/Fire unless you "betray" humanity to again help Gwyn continue his Age. At least that's how I personally interpret the games' Ages and I've seen lore channels state similar conclusions due to Gwyn's actions. "End of Fire" is the proper name for the ending or Age of Dark ending perhaps.

So i got the link the fire ending without exploring the untended graves. later i went there and got the eyes, now if i give the eyes to the firekeeper, can i get the end the fire ending too?

Gave the eyes to her accidentally, declined, killed her and there is no more eyes on the inventory. Is this ok?
- Anonymous
Ooooh. There is mentioned about dissapear of these eyes with words "in some instances".. What are those instances? Because i really want "End of Fire" ending and Irina is sitting next to me in Firelink Shrine.. :( Please answer someone :((

It's weird to say this now, but from looking at the body where you find the eyes... The marks over the eyes region look a lot like the wax covering the girl's eyes in Demon's Souls.

Hi, what happens if you give her the Eyes and then choose Decline and you dont kill her? She will still have the Eyes, but does it count as accepting and "Wishing for a world without flame" OR it counts as if i never gave her those Eyes? Thanks and sorry for my english
- Anonymous
what happens if you give her the Eyes and then Decline withotu killing her? what will the ending be?
- Anonymous
I got something in my pocket that would likely fit your socket.

What happens if u hold on to the eyes and play a new game? Are they removed from your inventory?

I messed up big-time. i gave the eyes after defeating the soul of cinder

These eyes belong to the First Fire Keeper, and Ludleth has been a Lord of Cinder in the past. Since he speaks about helping “her” cope with the visions, that implies that he was part of the first set of Lords of Cinder. This would also reinforce (but would not prove) the theory that he’s also one of the Pygmy Lords, but because he volunteered to become a Lord of Cinder, he wasn’t imprisoned with the rest of them.

Interestingly this ideology correlates with the painted world DLC. According to the bird thing npc that was sitting in the chair. The proper use of the flame is to burn way a rotting world then allow the next world to be born. Similar to hat ludleth apparently did. The betrayal seems to be towards the "Gods" race as theh need the flame to remain in power and not lose to humanity. The truth is that they are being accommodated for a living a lie. -sheba

I hate this item, if you have these eyes and not going for the betrayal ending, it's either, 'is there something I should know', then you give her the eyes and it's all 'please kill me' the moral to this story is? Don't talk to a blind person if you have eyes.
- Anonymous
I really hate this item, when your not going for the betrayal ending, you either have to keep a secret from the firekeeper, or listen to her beg you to kill her, and if you kill her, it's back to the, is there something I should know? Scenario, moral of this story is? don't talk to a blind person if you have eyes...

I have a question what happens if you give the eyes to her after you've defeated the final boss?

Imagine seeing her stick those blueberries in her empty eyeholes and then look around and act like she can see with them. Fuck
- Anonymous
If you ever feel bad for not giving her eyes but also don't want to change the firelink shrine music, give her 2 blueberries, she won't know the difference

I though you would have given the eyes to the mirical teacher irina so she could do somthing,
Could have been an Easter egg from developers but they must have seen better things to Be done

What? The bonfires are still lit after you give the eyes...

I want to sell the eyes of the firekeeper since they are useless,if you wish for a world with no fire you just get a playthrought with no bonfires so I killed her,any ideas on how to dispose of the dark souls equivalent of the lord of the rings....ring

I wish the game had blueberries and we could give them to her, and she'd never know they arnt actually eyes

Honestly, call me weird, but I actually prefer the Ending The Fire Ending. It's messed up, but honestly, It needs to happen...Lothric is shredding itself apart. The Fire is already dying...and no Flame burns forever.

question I have is what do they show the fire keeper? something corrupted? Or the truth? and what truth would that be? Why does she see things but want me to kill her then? Does she "reset" after each death? Does she forget what she saw? does she prefers to live a lie? I don't understand what is going with these eyes. are the eyes evil? Or are we evil in linking the fire? and if yes why would she wish for that? her reaction makes no sense to me.
- Anonymous
The decease Fire Keeper you get the eyes from almost reminds me of the Maiden in Black. Maybe it's just me.
- Anonymous
She says if you have regrets of giving her the eyes, kill her, and take eyes. She will come back to life withour eyes

I be her the eyes because I have already beaten all the bosses, but I regret it because the firelink shrine now makes me really sad because of the music
- Anonymous
Aparently after you give the firekeeper the eyes, the music in firelink changes from the violin music to a much sadder piano tune

Some kind of squelching or popping sound would have been appreciated when giving the Fire Keeper these eyes. Way to break my immersion From.

Do the eyes carry over to NG+? I just want to make sure whether i should just give her the eyes now after already beating the final boss or start NG+ with them to get the alternate ending.
- Anonymous
I think it's important to address the fact that her eyes are god *****ed blueberries.
Latest patch removes the dialogue option to be able to give it to Irina of Carim.
- Anonymous
Had to test it out and Irina will not accept the eyes after becoming a Firekeeper. There's no option to give them to her.
- Anonymous
if you have the eyes, you can still give them to the Firekeeper even though you finished the playthrough.
- Anonymous
So if I kill her will she respawn? Also if I don't kill her nor wish to change the ending with the eyes will anything happen? Basically if she just has them, will anything happen?
- Anonymous
I get that dialogue with the firekeeper when you're supposed to have the eyes in your inventory but i dont have any eyes.
- Anonymous
If I'm aiming for "Usurping the flame" ending, have done every step that leads me to it, and give her the eyes, which ending shall I get?
- Anonymous
so i gave her the eyes and i talked to her and nothing happened , i also killed her and repeated the same thing and nothing happened also. what should i do??
- Anonymous
What happens if i give her the eyes AFTER ive beaten the last boss but before continuing to NG+?
- Anonymous
well it looks like my eyes of fire keeper is gone I even killed her to double check. I finished Irian quest line, but I never see anything that is available for pick up at the location.

What if i gave eyes, but when she will take it from final bonfire, i can move for a little bit. I can probably hit her or what. What will happen?

Wait.. aren't the Eyes of a Fire Keeper actually the eyes of Oceiros, the Consumed King¡ Color scheme and all.

"The eyes are implied to belong to Irina of Carim, as the location they are found in is the darkened version of Irina's location in Firelink Shrine, and Irina is blind. "This is completely wrong. All of the fire keepers are blind - just look at the one you level up at. When you give the fire keeper the eyes, she asks if you're sure you want to give them to her, as they're not meant to have eyes. The item description even says they belong to the first fire keeper! That's clearly not Irina, as she isn't even an actual fire keeper, let alone the first one.
- Anonymous
In my game, the eyes were located in the unlit bonfire, not on a corpse in the same area Irina sits.
- Anonymous
If you decline to end it as the betrayer, she will ask you to kill her.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
If you are going for the Lord of Hollows ending, and give her the eyes. Can u still get it?
- Anonymous
Is it just me or does the corpse you find them on, the previous firekeeper, wear the exact same clothes as the Maiden in Black? Even the "eyepatch" is the same.

So if the eyes disappear is there a way to get them back, or are we screwed because this game has no idea how to do story arcs

holy ***** this item takes this game on a wild turn into depressing ville. do yourself a favor and don't give her this item
