Breathe Fire | 11 (-/-) |
Follower Torch is a Weapon in Dark Souls 3. It is part of the Ashes of Ariandel DLC.
An offensive torch used by the Farron Followers. Provides light and doubles as a weapon
Some forms of the Abyss manifest as pus within the body, treated from ancient times with fire.
Skill: Breathe Fire
Spit a combustible fuel across the torch to breathe flame in a front-sweeping motion.
Notes and Tips:
- Cannot be Buffed or Infused.
- Reinforced with Titanite.
- Has the same regular moveset as the Mace.
- This is the only Torch with a Weapon Art.
- Just like the regular torch, equipping this weapon will remove maggots/leeches that cause Bleed.
- Combined with it's slow moveset, and having much lower hitstun than most of the other weapons in the game, the R1s of the Follower Torch do not chain together normally.
Location/Where to Find
- Can be found after the Snowy Mountain Pass bonfire. Proceed forward until you reach the giant bell. Run past it to just before the collapsing ridge leading to the Earth Seeker. Instead of taking the ridge down, turn left and continue until you reach a cliff. Drop down to the path below the cliff and proceed right to find a corpse containing the weapon, guarded by a Farron Follower.

I don't know if I encountered a bug or what happened. I could normally equip it in my right hand, haven't played on that save file probably more than a week and when I came back and unequiped it for a moment I couldn't equip it in any of the right hand spots. At the time of posting this no info about it on the wiki.

I'm thinking of doing a fire damage only run with this bad boys WA as the center piece. Thinking of rocking a female pyromancer with the Desert Pyromancer Set, for that extra spice.

Curious, does pulling this Torch out also remove Maggots (which constantly raise up your Bleed bar) from you like the normal Torch?
I really, REALLY wanted an infusable torch so I could make it Simple and hold it in the offhand of my sorc. I had been using the normal torch for most of the game and thought: "If only there were a better torch." Then I found this one and I was so excited. I ran to the blacksmith and... you.. can't infuse it.

I have tried out this weapon at lv30 pvp, at +3, sadly, the damage output was lacking. Like, It hit for 30-40 damage 1 handed and around 60 2 handed. The weapon art is amazing though, it dealt around 120 dmg (2 or 3 times/weapon art) and I had no idea the WA has that much hyper armor in it, fun stuff in pvp, but sadly, not viable.

Mastering the WA of this good ol' flame stick will allow you to get some space between your opponents, punish overly aggressive opponents, conceal other actions, bait people, and look HOT as hell.
- Anonymous
I should have come here sooner instead of trying to farm it on the followers for 20 min

A shame you can't Chaos infuse or fire buff this. A real shame.

Does holding this also kill those maggots that give you constant bleed like the plain torch does?
- Anonymous
Much better than what a lot of people say, even for PvE. Has the same move set as the mace, so you get that nice hyper armor while two handing. It may have split damage, but if you want to you can equip the fire clutch ring to boost your fire damage a good amount. It also has a “poke” R2 when one-handed (if I remember correctly). Finally, it’s weapon art should not be overlooked, it has great damage and area of effect, and can be really effective out of a repost. Overall, I’d say it’s actually a 8/10 weapon.

I was messing around with bow tumbling Frozen Weapon onto innate fire damage weapons, and for some reason if you do this to the Follower Torch the weapon art procs Frostbite, same with a few other weapon. the lava puddle on the Demon Scar can also apply Frostbite, so I believe this works on any damaging weapon art.

even though you're technically supposed to get this after (unless you rolled through the entire area, you naughty cheater) this works wonders for the snowfield dog zone. Let them all howl and start circling around you, press L2, and let them jump into your flames. You'll get hit once or twice occasionally, but end up killing almost every dog. The flames stagger them so the only times you actually get clipped is when they come from the sides.

best weapon for defending against fast enemies or when there r many of them...like rats or dogs

Just noticed you can still breath fire even after all FP is consumed, nice little trick
- Anonymous
does more then double all other weapons kick stamina damage (demons fist very very slightly more then half follower torch, otherwise demon fist is second best) guarenteed to guard break all shields at 40 end until you get 80+ (maybe 75+) without horsehoof. with horsehoof it can guard break shields with 80+ at 40 endu (232 stamina damage at 80 stability exactly)

looks like a meme weapon, but the hyperarmor on this is retardedly good for its weight. also the 2 handed r2 is really a pleasure to play with. sadly, it is one of the rare weapons that doesnt have a r1 r1 true combo

Dumbest thing ive ever seen. They're not even trying anymore

Drink until you are drunk, then spin camera while spit fire to FEEL IT.

This is honestly a fantastic weapon, both for PvE and PvP. R1/R2's have good hyper armor, pretty good damage and do a good job roll catching. This weapons shines really well, even as your main weapon. It also has one of the best weapon arts in the game that covers almost all options. The hitboxes are huge and last a super long time AND you can roll out of it anytime during the fire breathing, which makes you basically unpunishable. You would not believe how many times people get hit more than once by this. Amazing at both the fires max range and close range. Hitting someone close range pretty much forces them to back off. They can't try to attack you or they'll get hit again. If they try to roll away in almost ANY direction, they get hit again. Probably the only way to escape is trying to dodge behind you, but you can just roll away whenever, so it's a 100% win-win situation. To top it all off, the weapon art has GOOD hyper armor. Only thing wrong with the weapon is that you can't combo two consecutive R1's. If it could do this, it would honestly be one of the best weapons in the game, although it can still be one of the best potentially.
Fun little tip: If someones trying to run around the flame, dodge in the opposite direction of them, and the last fire hitbox prior to your roll will spawn in their direction.

I love toasting the weird angel controlling larvas in the earthen peak ruins with the WA. So damn satisfying after having to sprint through that D-Day reenactment. Scream you little*****s, scream for me!

Anonymous, plz shut the hell up! You are so contradicting in your posts. Your input is confusing and your *****ing ***** is all over the place. State a *****ing fact or shut up. Spreading dumb ass opinions is not helpful, especially when you change your mind later to spread more dumbass around. GFY

This weapon really needs a slight tracking buff for pvp at least.
The r2 in paticular seems to just not connect at all when it hits some one dead on, I find often the r1 has better range.
- Anonymous
At 40\40 str and dex i have 465 AR. Not sure if bugged, but dont care cause the WA in my build one shots those weird "tree" ladys in ariandel.
- Anonymous
I've fsllen in love with this weapon.
40str 20dex 10 int 10 fth
Fire clutch ring,
Hunter ring (optional)
Any ring
R2 got decent reach.
WA can be used as a good roll catcher and it have HA.
Love this weapon.
Great for both pvp and pve.

Basically, the weapon art is one free spell for my pyromancer. A Fire Whip with actual range and damage, and also interruptable in case of whiffs. That said, it's not easy to hit people in Pvp with this, but it's surely better than wasting a slot on that useless Fire Whip
- Anonymous
low split damage, bad scaling, no range, cool but bad weapon art and slow attacks. only good thing going on for it is the hyper armor it has when 2 handed overall a bad weapon that needs a buff to scaling or base damage
- Anonymous
Nostalgia :'(
Is it just me or this is a huuuge reference to the engorged hollows of the painting of Ariamis? the WA looks identical to their fire attack and the description even mentions "pus within the body"...
- Anonymous
when a torch is better then a form of the mighty dragons T-T
- Anonymous
Just a small tidbit, the weapon art can be used when your FP is empty, but it loses range and does far less damage
- Anonymous
This weapons is VERY good. Weapon art must be abused as much as possible so success. It has good hitboxes and insane HA.

- Anonymous
Does weapon art scale much with weapon level? If anyone has numbers I'd appreciate it.
- Anonymous
The weapon art leaves behind a big phantom damage box even after the fire animation has moved/ended.
Would nicely compose into a pyromancer build (not in the aspect of the build, but in fashion souls).
- Anonymous
Note: The damage/stability/scaling in the first 'general' is wrong. It displays the +2 values instead of +0. I'm no good at editing, sorry.
- Anonymous
I have a question. Does the weapon art scales with Faith + Int like Pyromancies or does it have the same scaling that the weapon's ?
Fun fact: the weapon skill has hyperarmor, and a lot of it. When fully upgraded, it'll absolutely obliterate those pesky wolf packs.
Any update on where to find this item? Is it a drop from an enemy or is there a location in the game world you can pick it up?
- Anonymous
It's basically a better version of the torch. The only downside is that it weight way more
- Anonymous
It's like the gargoyle flame hammer's little brother. I like to wield both of them at the same time.
It's not a good loadout, but it looks nice! (fashion soul 5/7).
- Anonymous
Can't be infused nor buffed, scaling sucks too. Hoped for it to be a nice pyromancer weapon.
Sigh, time to use the edgy Onyx Blade
- Anonymous
I found it! Finally, let you know how to get when I trace my steps.

Where do you find the Follower Torch? I've gotten all the dlc weapons besides it and beat the dlc earlier this morning

Somehow this is more interresting than the other weapons i've seen yet.
