Havel's Greatshield is a Shield in Dark Souls 3.
A tremendously solid and heavy greatshield, cut straight from a great slab of stone.
Said to be a relic of the legendary Havel the Rock, along with the Dragon Tooth. The shield is imbued with a special power reminiscent of Havel himself.Skill: Stone Flesh
Raise the shield in silent prayer, turning the user's body into a solid mass of stone.
Notes and Tips:
- Cannot be Infused but can be Buffed.
- Reinforced with Twinkling Titanite.
- Provides an average block of 86.2%, the highest of all greatshields, but it is also the heaviest of all greatshields. Weighing 8 units more than the majority, it's a bit of an "Ultra Greatshield".
- Has the highest elemental resistances out of all the Greatshields.
Location/Where to Find
- Dropped by the Havel Knight wielding it in Archdragon Peak.

Use this shield against the Nameless King, once he dismounts. This way, you'll only receive a fraction of the damage from his lightning spear.
- Anonymous
can i use it for Nameless King ? i wasted Soul of Dragonslayer Armour and now i cant have his shield
So, the lightning resistance of the shield skill is actually lower than the lightning resistance of havels armor itself. Fighting him with a +5 Dragonslayers swordspear and 35 faith, I would deal about 247 damage with the WA when he wasn't blocking, but when he used the sheild skill I would deal about 317.

Best *****in' greatshield in the game, a tad too heavy but that's what the dlc rings are for.

I can imagine trying to hold this thing up with one hand would break your arm.

A super good strategy for the wepon art is when your fighting a dex back staber and they have you almost out of stanima run to a wall and use the wepon art. They will think that they can get a reposit in and fail then they have to change their strategy. I practiced it a lot against the lorian boss but its fun as hell once u get used to it. I pair this sheild with earth seeker

Still an awesome shield, not sure what all this cancer talk is about, but I don't really do pvp, is that what people mean? People using it for pvp?
Great shield for pve.

OP as hell shield vs Monsters. I Basically face tanked Midir. It was really fun to use a tank/knight for once though, was my first time trying it.

Whoever came up with this bull*****term "ultra greatshield" needs to go *****ing die, what a retarded cancerous term

It's hilarious how much people seem to hate this thing. I just like it because I've trained in spear-shield combat irl and this shape is, while unconventional, rocks for that style of fighting so long as you know how to do it, and a shield slam from this thing, OUCH...

This basically the same thing as iron flesh besides the increase in lighting damage. I miss the dark souls 1 version where it didn't make the user slow and gave the user infinite poise which was amazing with my mage build make people sec think charging in with curved swords like mad mans.

Can deny that claim. When playing as a full havel build with 99 vitality and havel's ring there was normal rolls as the equipment load was below 70%
- Anonymous
I hate people two-handing it and just attacking me with it. 2 handing shields should get canceled. It literally makes no sense 2 handing a shield.
- Anonymous
They should make the horsehoof ring increase stamina damage by 500% so the scrubs using this stand no chance.... It wouldnt affect pve at all but would fix pvp real quick
- Anonymous
Tested Havel shield with enough vit for the 70% weight cap. It dosent force the slow roll. Spinning around like a rat
- Anonymous
Tested it and sadly they do not stack. Someone knows if stone flesh stacks with Deep Protection?

Does this eliminate hitstun? In PvP I blow through people but I can't chase them. Weak side is activation time mid battle. Weak to backstabbing. Let me know thoughts thanks
