Hexes in Dark Souls 3 have been rolled into Miracles, Pyromancies ans Sorceries. Although some of the same Spells return in Dark Souls 3, such as Dark Blade and Dead Again, the Hexes category no longer exists. They are now, for all intents and purposes, considered Dark Miracles, Pyromancies and Sorceries.

  • You should give the Dark Tomes to Karla to avoid other NPCs having issues.

Below is a list of all Dark Spells in the game. THESE ARE NOT CALLED HEXES ANYMORE.

I will never understand why they practically removed them but then carried over remnants like caithas chime and several spells, it just doesn't make a whole lot of sense

Feels weird they remvoed hexes as their own category but kept the spells... I guess cause hexes don't have a catalyst of their own?

        • They rolled the finished version of this page in with the rest of the spells if anyone else needs more information. Damn shame they didn't finish this page though.

Granted it’s not in the lore persay, but I strongly suspect that Hexes were originally engineered to arm the Sorcerers with “Occult” aka “Dark” powers so as to easily dispatch the silver knights and even the gods themselves during the failed overthrow. Hexes are especially effective on Silver Knights and the Nameless King is torn asunder by Deep Soul sorcery.

                • Like regular sorceries you can buff the staff. But staffs can cross-buff. For example, the Crystal Sages Staff is regularly pretty weak, but is the strongest staff when buffed. "Cross-buffing" is when you offhand a staff with a strong buff (like the CSS), make that mutha glow, it places its buff on the staff in your right hand. So the Archdeacon's Staff is, by just a bit, the strongest staff in the game at 99 (FTH for this one). Offhanding and buffing the CSS will use its buff for the regular sorceries of the Archdeacon's, making it significantly stronger, even than offhanding the scholar's candlestick. So I mention this bc it has the same effect on the dark sorceries of the Izalith. My Dark Edge can now hit the scrubs in the Cemetery of Ash for 1293 dmg. That's not bad. 1434 with Lloyd's Sword Ring.

I wish we had as many 'dark' spells as we did back in Dark Souls 2, it gives more potential for sorcerers and allows for more builds.

i hope that they do remember that wolnir has a hex you can get from soul that is really awesome in my opinion its also deals roughly 185 dark damage with a 10+ flame and 165 with a un-upgraded flame andThis spell has some very peculiar homing properties, they will most of the time home fairly well, but can outright swerve away from targets andThis spell travels across surfaces, mainly the floor but also up walls, down walls, over and around all obstacles.

I thinks its 'nifty' that these previously 'hex class' type dark spells are available in each branch of casting, of which is quite helpful to diversify damage types a bit with out too much stat/upgrade splitting for someone starting out in a NG.

                        • I'm too lazy and incompetent to do the editing myself, but these are the remaining "Hexes" that could still be added to this page.Deep ProtectionBlack SerpentBlack FlameBlack Fire OrbPestilent MercuryDeep SoulDark OrbAffinityDark Edge

There are definitely confirmed hexes, and im talking yes actual hexes not miracle sorcerie hybrids or whatever. Im talking dark orb and dark weapon. They're are just pretty difficult to unlock but it's still pretty Close to the beginning so a hex build is still very viable.

Can I suggest we place all Dark Miracles, Pyromancies and Sorceries on this page anyway? But have them listed into each of those three categories? It just makes it easier to find dark magics rather than having to scout through all the other pages.

                              • Does dark dmg scale like DS2? (lowest from Int/Fai)??I got the DARK GEM (for weapon infusion) and it says "Dark damage scales from Faith"...I'm wondering if dark scales with faith nowPlz anyone post here if tested

There is dark damage as a stat, but the blind would-be fire keeper sells spells that should be hexes like dark weapon, but it is labeled as a miracle in the store menu. I'm really hoping that's a place holder I personally liked the hex system in DS2 but I believe they need a bit of balancing.

I don't know why it's listed here as a "Spell that was formerly a hex", since it's always been a pyromancy.
