Boss encounter dialogue
"Unknowing visitor, return from whence thou camest.
The Abyss runneth deep. By the King's decree. None may disturb our mistress's slumber.
Turn back, unknowing visitor.
By the King's decree.
Foolishness. The King's decree is no trifling matter.
I, Judicator Argo, shall deliver thee justice."
"Spear of the Church, sworn defender of our Princess Filianore! Harken to the call that summons thee! Make haste! Spear of the church, by the sacred decree, protect our Princess.
...Spear of the Church, make haste."
When approaching as a member of the Spears of the Church covenant
"Spear of the Church, turn back.
The Abyss runneth deep. Thou'rt sworn to protect our mistress's slumber.
Or wouldst thou thy covenant forsake, in violation of the King's decree?"
"Turn back, Spear of the Church.
Or wouldst thou thy covenant forsake, in violation of the King's decree?"
"Foolishness. To forswear thy covenant and the King's decree.
I, Judicator Argo, shall bring this defiled spear to justice."
"Divine spear of Yore, sworn defender of our Princess Filianore! Harken to the call that summons thee.
Make haste! Divine spear of yore, by sacred decree, protect our dear Princess."
"Divine spear of yore, make haste."

There is a reason to kill him. He's a Judicator. That's more than enough.

When Argo yells "MAKE HASTE!" around midway in the fight, I think the voice actor delivered that line really badass-ingly

Hello help pls I've gone to the where argo is supposed to talk to you but nobody talked and I opened the door gone through the fog and no boss did he go shopping or something

100% the worst boss in all of DS3. summoned players can cheese you to tears of frustration. they run from you untill they get free heal and free casts. you never get any hits in or they use heal eq and heal casts. if you cant summon 3 friends, better get some spare controllers.

so what is he? Part of Filianores dream? Last member of an extinct race? There stands a 30 feet tall guy in the landscape summoning ghosts and all you "people" do is just swallow it? Are you insane? At least I don't have to wonder why Haralds Legion...is the legion of Harald. Thanks for shuffling words...

SPEAR OF THE CHURCH, SWORN DEFENDER OF OUR PRINCESS FILIANORE. HARKEN TO THE CALL THAT SUMMONS THEE. MAKE HASTE [clang]

So... I went past the fog gate and Argo started *****in about breaking the coventant. Now most of the dialogue remains the same but I did realize tgat instead of calling a "spear of the church" he calls for a "divine spear of yore".
If you recall the item you find behind the covenant monument is the "Fragment church spear" (or something) while once you hit covenant lvl 3 you earn the "divine church spear".
Also the invader was slightly tougher than most. He was aggressive and had the whole dark clutch setup with a dark buffed astora greatsword, a parry dagger and light armor. So he seemed tougher than the regular pvper. We fought for a good while and eventually I won but he had my respect.
So is a spear of the church more likely to face a higher ranking member when he goes for the boss?

It says SL X 500 for the purging monument but Sl X 1000 for Velka's statue.

it's all fun until the double golden coin try hards enter the stage. you are lucky then if the fight ends only (!) after 15min...

Fun Fact: I'm part of the Warriors of the Sun Covenant and for some strange reason, I was called as a Spear of the Church. And some dude stab me just as I was appearing in the fight. I wasted more time being summoned than what I last in the fight. LOL

" - Killable, but there's no reason to kill him, as he dies after the Spear of the Church is summoned " How's about I kills him so I don't's haves to listens to that unskippable dialouge that takes half my 600 hours of gameply to finish, that I sat through just so I can fight a boss who is literally just standing there and "SUMMONING ANOTHER PHANTOM"

do the other judicators stop spawning after argo and the spear of the church are defeated? need confirmation

"The King's decree is no trifling matter!" He says as I murder him for the thirtieth time to farm for items I will never use.

How many Judicator Argos summoned from different timelines into one stinking abyssal swamp does it take to stop one champion of ash? Apparently not enough as the Champion of Ash willingly revives Argo for hunting sport

Why is judicator argo assumed to be every judicator giant? You can see the giant in the swamp and the giant by the purging monument at the same time, so they are clearly not all judicator argo. Judicator Argo is only the giant in the Halflight boss fight.

Go one step further From!
Make it so I can revive ANY boss!
I want to have an FC in the streets of Irithyll for a change without having a character there just to do that!
- Anonymous
He can be revived! My desire for a permanent dried finger run area has been answered! And it's a nasty area with plenty of enemies to help out the invader!
Does killing him before the Spears fight starts actually do anything? It seems like the Painting Guardians and the PvP boss still spawn just fine.

What I'm wondering is, If you revive argo and "reset" the boss fight, do you then regain the ability to be invaded? If so this could be a means of farming seeds of the giant trees

It's really cool that his name is taken form the odyssey, where argo is the loyal dog of ulysses and he wait for his master to return just as in this game argo did with gwyn, while guarding on her daughter until his lord will come back to save her,as written in the description of the Small Envoy Banner

Second boss of the DLC is literally a dude who stands there and is SUMMONING ANOTHER PHANTOM. Heh.
- Anonymous
Pretty sure it's not the same guy we meet at the bridge, in the swamp and before the Purging Monument. Those are just enemies.

You gain covernant item upon completion. Repeat until you have 30 and you should be done
- Anonymous
After i revived Argo with the Purging Monument, i later found out that the Statue of Velka, also can revive Argo, I stumbled upon this after trying to reset my hollowing at the statue, and it had the option, "Reinstate the King's Decree" i dont know if this is a bug, or intentional. i just found it pretty neat.

I'm fairly certain that there is only one Judicator Argo, while the other giants are just other Judicators.

Killed Argo, killed player, music is still playing and fog gates are still up. I'm trapped in the boss room >:

Just beat him for a slab and covenant item. If he's respawned at the Purging Monument, do we get both rewards again?
Will he stop being hostile if you become Spear of the Church?

In the swamp, his huge size and the way be lumbers around can be intimidating, but his detection radius isn't as much as you might think and he only attacks with temporary summons so he won't chase you around if you get spotted. If you stay close to the walls as you go through the area, he likely won't see you at all even if he looks right in your direction.

Killed the boss first, summoning a player. After this he was still Wanderung around and respawned after i killer him.
Revived him at the monument and beat him offline, for 100% Halflight. He is still wandering around and respawns if i kill him.
- Anonymous
How can I make him disappear from the swamp? Is impossible for me to pick items with him disturbing with his weird summons...
- Anonymous
Argo is the giant in the halflite fight. You can use the purging monument to resummon him, rebooting the halflite fight but instead of halflite, a player appears and player health bar becomes boss health bar. Killing the player net me 200k souls and a covenant reward item.

Im 100% sure he's voiced by the same dude as Mordekaiser from League of Legends
