Manikin Claws is a Weapon in Dark Souls 3.



Weapon of the Pale Shades, assassins of the Sable Church of Londor. The curved claws cause heavy bleeding.

When two handed, claws are equipped to each hand.

Skill: Quickstep
Instantly step behind or around the side of foes. Especially effective when locked on to target.



Notes and Tips:

  • Can be Buffed and Infused.
  • Reinforced with Titanite.
  • Can be used to parry attacks when equipped in the left hand.
  • Has the most range out of the Claws but is also the weakest.

 

 

Location/Where to Find

  • Dropped by Londor Pale Shade that invades you in Irithyll of The Boreal Valley right after the Silver Knights room (The invader will only show up if you're on bad terms with Yuria - i. e. kill the pilgrim in the Church to save Anri). 
  • Dropped by Dark Spirit Londor Pale Shade that invades you in the Farron Keep, on the right side near the wall, right after the Basilisk. (Must be on bad terms with Yuria of Londor. I.E. Cured the sigil, attacked, or killed Yuria.)
  • The Manikin claws, Londor Pale Shade set, AND duel bow gesture, can all be obtained in one playthrough by punching Yuria 3 times to aggravate her, killing the invading Londor Shade in Farron Keep and Irrythil (BEFORE KILLING PONTIFF), and then paying for absolution at the statue of Velka in the undead settlement. The Londor Shade will still be summonable, Yuria will be friendly, so you can receive all the items without discontinuing the questline.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit

      I was reading a history textbook for my college class and saw an image in it that claimed to be a representation of warfare from the game Arthur II, but when I looked at the pic it was a screenshot of someone wielding this weapon and wearing the pontiff knight set. It took me a second, but when I saw the familiar embers upon the cloth of the armor it suddenly clicked in my mind. Western Civilizations 21st edition volume 1 page 235 for anyone interested

          I have never ever seen these used in pvp. It is true that it is the weakest of the claws in terms of damage, but not by much. At 70 dex and sharp infusion, it has 342 AR, which is only 12 less AR than regular claws that are also sharp at 70 dex, so really not all that bad. Paired with innate bleed, buffability, and the cheesiest weapon art in the game, quickstep, it seems like they would be pretty decent, atleast on paper. I will make a build around these and see how they stack up in the arena.

            Perfect weapons for a bleed build as have a blood infused weapon like carthus curved great sword which is slower you can hollow infuse this to buff the rouge and the wa to doge you can put pressure on the target

              To win with these, you need to abuse the WA to make up for range. That means having to 2h the weapon and leaving you at a serious range/hyperarmor disadvantage, so if you're planning on using these, level ATN for the FP you'll be burning through in each fight

                  So I know the rolling attack is a thrust attack, but based on the 2h attacks, it looks like a; thrust slash; slash slash; slash thrust. Can anyone confirm?

                    So no one thinks its odd that the sable church uses manakin weapons, manakins were created by mytha, its states this in dks2. Also earthen peak is pretty much the only location from dks2 that shows up in dks3. And the face on stabber and crusher mural in ariandel chapel look just like the manakin mask and the mural is also related the sable church?

                      The durability of 60 given on this page is complete rubbish, it's actually 35 as I found out to my disappointment when the game started warning about my equipment status. Killing the forlorn grunts in Ariandel with Manikin Claws +4 cost one durability per grunt even if everything hit perfectly so these are definitely not for long stints.

                          Playing after most recent patch. Infusion screen lists blood infusion +10 at 60 units. Have the manikin claws received a buff? Are they the only ones?

                              I got only Dragonslayer's Axe after killing Dark Spirit of Londor that invades in Irithyll of The Boreal Valley. I missed the one on Farron Keep. I didn't even touch him, he just strangely fell of a cliff in what appear to me a suicide. Why I didn't get the Claws?

                              • As one might see way down in the comments I tried really hard to make these work, cause I think they look badass, but I just ended up finding myself using it as an off hand parry tool I'd occasionally two hand for the dodge weapon art, which might still be a good little niche perhaps since otherwise the new claws from the dlc outclass these in every way.

                                  The problem with this wiki is it doesn't tells us for what builds they are used for and how or what infusions are commonly used on them. Example: bleed is damn good in pvp. From this wiki information alone I would choose now the blood gem as infusion to max the damage on the claws. I wouldn't go for refined/sharp and then use carthus rouge what would be the correct choice. Because these essential information are not written down here.

                                    This is 100% NOT true: Doesn't work correctly with the Hollow Infusion, there is no Luck bonus with this infusion. (A regular hollow infused weapon would give a bonus of 5 to your luck stat at +10, but the Manikin Claws do not.)

                                      I've notived that if you do (r1 - l1 - r1 - l1) it will atack faster and with a lesser cost on Stamina. But someone know if the damage and the bleed efect are afected?

                                          I think the Manikin Claws would be really good when combining it with Iron Flesh and buffing it with Carthus Rouge. Has anyone tried this yet? I think it would be really good in pvp.

                                            I would like to know if someone have already do what that guide said: "The Manikin claws, Londor Pale Shade set AND duel bow gesture can all be obtained in one playthrough by punching Yuria 3 times to agravate her, killing the invading Londor Shade in Farron Keep and Irrythil (BEFORE KILLING PONTIFF), and then paying for absolution at the statue of Velka in the undead settlement. The Londor Shade will still be summonable, Yuria will be friendly, so you can recieve all the items without discontinuing the questline." And if it worked, Thanks.

                                                The fact that they'd make a bleed weapon only obtainable by attacking the npc involved with the hollow questline is beyond me. I can't get the weapon now because i killed the bosses, all of these conditions you have to remember are idiotic, just to get a weapon. I suppose ill have to wait until NG+ to finish my bleed build, thanks FromSoft.

                                                  I was mid way into yuria but I killed the assassin and then killed yuria, Dark Spirit of Londor invaded my world shortly after in the area with dogs and shadow enemies ( don;t know their name ) that leads to the elevator short cutm and remember that the boss shuld be alive for invasion.P.S."Dont Works correctly with the Hollow Infusion, there is no Luck Boni from it" it's fixed

                                                      The invader will still show up if you do not trigger the Yuria quest at all i.e., do not speak to Yoel on the bridge.

                                                        Where I should find the Dark spirit there is Heysel invading me (backdoor of the last farron fire beyond the basilisks). My plan was to obtain the claws and join Yuria. Is this impossible?

                                                          Bleed weapon that works best for a bleed hollow build. Is unobtainable to anyone who doesn't fail the hollow questline. **** quests in this game, they make DkS 1 look simple. Don't even get me started on the proper bow gesture.

                                                            My experience with two characters might clear up a way to obtain these earlierThis Cleric character had taken a level from Yoel of Londor and then healed itI found Yellowfinger Heysel in the swamp pre-abyss watchers and when I killed him he dropped his crown and manikin claws, I don't recall if I killed him in the swamp.My Pyromancer character has taken only one level from Yoel and this was the character who I wanted to give claws to after the Cleric found them.I used this character who never visited the cathedral of the deep or farron keep to kill Heysel in both the swamp and woodsin both instances he used his warpick and I only received his drops in the woods, no claws dropped.Perhaps this has to do with accessibility to Yuria's questline. Hope this helps.

                                                            • I'm currently trying to run this with a dex/luck build, which isn't complete yet, but personally I think theres much more utility potential for this weapon than some are giving credit for. While yes, its L1 combo has a bit of a slow startup, I think its best used as a follow up for its actually excellent and fast rolling and/or running L1 attack, and remember you do still have R1 and 2.They're definitely not beginner friendly weapons but I feel like there's much more potential to these things than meets the eye and they just need the right mentality. Having quickstep with a weapon that hits even a bit harder than daggers (which are more for applying bleed and/or poison.), along with also having Bleed, I think is a huge benefit that's not easy to invalidate . In the very least, when equipped offhand they have the amazing Cestus parry (fastest in the game.), which has been very useful for me so far since it gives them a good way to compliment a more straightforward main weapon, and giving easy access to its dual wield stance when hard-pressing triangle or its equivalent for quick step pressure.Haven't fully upgraded them down the hollow route yet but I think it's looking pretty good.

                                                                  From what I can tell from using them these are a terrible choice for PvP. The attack speed is abysmal and the damage is horrible. They have practically no stunlock capability and the bleed build is useless, I've only had the bleed trigger once and that was against a host fatrolling who could barely move they were so over-encumbered. To even hit someone with these requires painful amounts of work due to the slow windup of the first attack which is almost always easy to dodge due to the horrendous range for such large claws. 99% of the time it's much less work and much more effective to use any straight sword or even a dagger. Ganks are impossible to face with these due to the slow attack speed and every attack being short range thrusts, meaning that every encounter turns into stunlock galore whilst you try and swing. Avoid these at all costs. The damage the phantom deals doesn't represent the damage output of these things at all.

                                                                    Alright, I recorded the steps this time around for making the Dark Spirit of Londor appear. Same place both times, so it's no coincidence.1. Met Yoel of Londor, took him under service.2. Immediately returned to get first Darksign.3. Proceeded to earn all four other Darksigns in a row.4. Left and returned to Firelink Shrine. Yoel is dead, Yuria in his place.5. Killed Yuria.6. Cleansed Hollowing and Darksigns through Fire Keeper.7. Proceeded through Undead Settlement, Road of Sacrifices, and into Farron Keep.8. Got invaded by Dark Spirit of Londor, who dropped the claws.Location: From the Old Wolf Bonfire, go down the ladder and fight through the slime slugs. Follow the path of dry land patches with burning firepits until you reach stairs going up toward one of the fires you have to put out to open the big gate. You're in the right place if there's a large tree-wielding monster in front of the bottom of the staircase. Ignore the stairs going up and start wading into the swamp, hugging the wall as you move around and to the left. Keep following the wall, and you'll trigger the invasion.This confirms you can get this weapon as early as Farron Keep. Hope this helps someone.

                                                                      There seems to be a lot of conflicting advice on acquiring this. In the wiki it says you need to be on bad terms with yuria by killing the guy trying to kill Anri, but then says she wants to marry Anri, so why would that make her on bad terms with you? Also some suggest in the comments that you should be on good terms with Yuria to get the weapon and do her quests. Which is it, and what specifically do you need to do? If being on bad terms with her is all that is truly required, would simply killing her allow the spirit to invade?

                                                                      • Anything special required to trigger it other than being Embered up? I know the area, I've helped hosts in there and seen the invasion happen, I've seen solo players get it, but I believe I've never ever seen this one.
