Pyromancies are a type of Magic that deal primarily fire damage or provide resistance to damage, scaling with both Intelligence and Faith. The player can currently cast Pyromancies with all Flames and the White Hair Talisman. There are a total of 30 pyromancies. The minimum Intelligence and Faith needed to use all pre-DLC spells is 25 of both Intelligence and Faith. The majority of pyromancies can be purchased after giving certain Merchants a Key Item known as a Tome.

I used a few buffs on my pyromancer build and a select choice of rings and I killed most bosses with little difficulty

I'm not gonna lie, I miss when Pyromancies didn't have stat requirements. It helped to make them unique alongside Miracles and Sorceries, and freed up build variety for casters quite a bit. Sure, balance-wise it was a bit skewed, letting players get crazy huge damage at low soul levels, but I feel like it could've been balanced by making the Pyro Flame require a rare upgrade material (Like DS2).

I also miss hexes, DS2 felt like it was peak in the series in terms of magic casting. DS3 kinda muddied the casting scene imo.

didnt think id be going for the all pyromancies trophy, decided to eat the stray demon soul because boulder heave didnt fit the character i made. fml

it's such a shame that only like four of them are actually viable in pvp, instead of ds2, where most of them were viable, even the firestorm variations.

            • Anonymous

The only spell type that has consistent, and good damage. You also can just pop on the crystal chime if you really need lightning, or magic damage, since you'll have the stats for it.

              • Doing a pyromancy playthrough rn and it's been much so easier than my miracles or sorceries playthroughs. It's also possible to assemble end game pyromancies so much faster than the other types (got everything I need before Lothric Castle).

Annoying that covenant accomplishments are required to get all pyro, sorceries, and miracles. I like playing solo. I have no interest in co-op. I get that co-op might be an effective marketing strategy, I get it's the fastest way to get the covenant accomplishments but I'm not interested in co-op play.

Say what you want about DS1, but it did two things better with pyromancy than DS3:
                    1. No minimum stats + six slots with only 23 Att.
                    2. Black Flame/Black Flame/Black Flame/Black Flame/Black Flame/Black Flame.

"What, you leveling FTH to tell deeper miracles and INT to cast complex sorceries?"

"Nah bro, I'm leveling to FTH to commit worse heresies and INT to spew harder rocks."

There's a total of 22 offensive pyromancies, 18 if we exclude floating chaos and the mist ones. There's a total of 8 support pyromancies, 12 if we include floating chaos and the mist ones. in total, there are 30 pyromancies.

I like the bigger variety of pyromancies in this game, how there's more support ones, and how you can access another type of damage, but I don't like how some where nerfed

It's always facepalm-level funny seeing pyromancers lament that they can't damage a boss with magic, when in fact they have access to the largest amount of spells as the spellcaster equivalent of a classic quality build... >__>

I feel as if it should have either been tied to intelligence since it’s a type of magic not based on faith in tales or gods, or had its own stat investment like “peganism” since it’s quite literally witchcraft. What do you think?

Hello DS3 player, I am come to you for a little favour, and I will carry this message to everywhere in DS3 community.
There is a glitch that allows you to summon white sign mad phantom in Gael’s Arena (Credit to Dashingsaint), if you keep Shira alived while she invade you (you can escape her simply sprint out her aggro range), you won’t trigger gael boss cutscene, and then you could put down you purple summon white sign or summon other white purple.
Thus, a new fight club is founded, an arena in a long lost dessert under the sunset sky which sprinkle with fainted galaxy.
If you’re watching this, kindly please help me share this and invite any ds3 enthusiast you known to this new fight club, your little effort would be much appreciated.
                                  SL25+2, SL40+4, SL60+6, SL72+8, SL90+10, SL125 Meta, SL 351++, all SL range are acceptable.
Welcome to the Gael’s Sunset Arena, the most beautiful map in the entire series, the last arena at the End of World.
I will await you there, in the End of the World, and we shall fight eternal, shiny and incandescence.

So I'm running a Demon Fist Mario build (so a brawling Pyromancer). Of course this means my path was to go directly to Smouldering Lake and I ran into Tarkus of course. I always kill NPC invaders, it's a ritual almost. Trying to beat Tarkus with a SL 30 pyro build where all my points had been focused into even using the fist (and nothing but useless crap upgraded) seemed impossible. Even the usual face tank with Iron Skin strat had nothing on Tarkus's Fume Greatsword.

But then I looked through my spells and I saw my Poison Mist......and Boulder Heave. I also had a Knight Slayer's Ring (traded over Demon fist and a random assortment of rings to Mario to see what worked best when I made him). Was almost comical how trivial it made him. Knocked him down then poison him, then dance around knocking him down. easy.

Pyros are the only spell caster that you can almost always predict all their spell slots. Chaos bed, black flame, and black serpent. Even most mages I fight have better variety than these folk.

I'm almost tempted to make my own pyro build just to show you can still win without spamming the three same spells over and over again

Not possible to become caster oriented character unless FP is rechargeable like Stamina. Imagine Stamina is not rechargeable. So magic in Dark Souls games are forever a support role only

remember when you could sneak pyromancy into melee builds? Now it require minimal stats when in DS1 it was lore fact that pyromancies were meant to be very simplistic forms of magic. From soft really hates magic in this game

                                                • Probably my favorite type of magic. Pretty much everything you need comes before irithyll (most in smouldering lake) and considering you’ll most likely be leveling faith and int up to 40 each, you can have a lot of versatility and use most spells or miracles if you ever get bored of spamming fiery hell at stuff. Plus sacred flame is badass if you land it.

                                                  • Anonymous

It's crazy how you get access to all the rings and spells before Irythill as a pyromancer. Meanwhile miracle builds need beat the final boss to get the best one lol

Fromsoft: Let's give pyromancies requirements to balance them. And then unbalance them with a mechanic that lets you spam the **** out of what is essentially forbidden sun

Kinda sad that they changed pyro glove to just another catalyst with normal upgrade path, also put faith&int requirements to almost all pyromancies, i mean pyro in ds3 is great and fun to play both in pvp in pve but imo ds1 pyro gives you feeling of playing a "true" pyro

I'm confused as to why Chaos Bed Vestiges is so used in PvP? It seems a breeze to dodge, does respectable(?) damage I guess, but only if it hits? In 1v1 it looks abysmal and when ganking it seems pretty meh, too. Why is it so overused?

Alright, I'm a little puzzled by something. Pyromancy scales with combined faith and int, and from what I can tell, a 40/20 build is just as good as a 20/40 build, up until 40/40 which is where Pyromancy is essentially capped. But in Dark Souls, whenever a stat goes past 40, there's a soft cap where scaling goes down; so is a 60/20 build just as strong as 40/40, or is it weaker?

Asking 'cause if I'm running a 60 int, 20 faith Sorceror, am I weaker compared to a 40 int, 40 faith build, or do the two combine just fine?

                                                                • Anonymous

Behold. The lamest PvP class of them all. It's a shame that with so much variety in spells almost all pyromancers seem to play the exact same. Set up with Black Serpent. Chuck a Chaos Bed or two. Then double black flame or just slowly melt people away with Flame Surge. The second you see a pyro you can already tell what their game plan is and what spells they have equipped.

The only true chads are the those who carry Sacred Flames and Boulder Heaves

                                                                          • Anonymous

god miyazaki sama when he created dark soul's magics: "well, so let me see, the sorcerers will do damage, while the miracle users will be responsible for the healing, touché, perfectly balanced, but there is still the pyromancies... well, i guess pyromancers will just do frickin everything lmao"

                                                                            • Anonymous

I have always favored melee and some bow build in any RPG game. Heck, my starting character in DS1/3 is a melee build. Yet only DS has pushed me to try a magic-class character.

                                                                              • Anonymous

Don't let the meta slaves tell you Rapport isn't good. Legitimately one of the strongest pyromancies in the game in the situations where you're able to capitalise on it. Relatively low FP cost, and the enemy you take control of will probably do significantly more damage than a single cast of another spell making it potentially very cost effective, AND the mob becomes an aggro magnet for your squishy body. It's also still better in PVP than some of the offensive miracles due to the chance of your opponent playing along when you use it on them. I've won so many fights cause I've "rapported" a red phantom. It's less likely to work on hosts but it's still more likely to work than Divine Pillars of Light. For a spell with literally no effect on players it's really good at convincing people to die for you.

                                                                                • Anonymous

Literally the worst casting class in the game. Probably the worst class compared to any melee class, including fists only.

                                                                                  • Anonymous

Why is the Farron Ring listed on this page if it only works on weapon arts and not the pyromancies themselves?

                                                                                    • Anonymous

Damn pve is way too ez when I choose to have my pyro build I rather take on twin princes with pyro even if they wouldn’t be weak to fire

                                                                                      • Anonymous

Made my first pyro buid after 500 hours and damn, folks are right. Turns PvE into a joke. Takes a hit in pvp due to everyone rolling but that's because if you land a shot, you pretty much win. And amazing for 2v2s and ganks. As soon as someone else takes the enemy's focus, just run out of view and toss a vestige at em.

                                                                                        • Anonymous

russians once kicked me from NK coop for cheating....while I just used black flame to melt that mofo's face

                                                                                          • Anonymous

What's the pyromancy that throws a flame dragon at the enemy? I've seen a phantom use it to devastating effect against Aldrich but can't quite determine what pyromancy it was. Or am I crazy and it wasn't really a dragon?

                                                                                            • Anonymous

Honestly, no salt. Pyromancy is definitely, objectively magic ez mode. It's just so retardedly more viable than the other three elemental damage types. There's a pyromancy for everything. Healing, defense, resistances, damage increase, aoe, fast offense, insta-offense, all ranges, insane damage and sheer number of spells. There is a damn turret. There is quite literally a pyromancy for everything.

                                                                                              • Anonymous

I have a few ideas on some pyromancies that could have made the game more interesting via DLC. Painted World of Ariandel: Outcast Pyromancy Tome - “A tome of unusual pyromancies crafted by the great swamp outcasts. Long ago, the outcasts learned to alter the nature of fire by causing it to freeze rather then burn and alter the nature of the body. Perhaps such practices is reason for their exile.” Frost Fire Orb: “A unnatural pyromancy that changes the nature of fire by causing it to draw heat rather then produce. Victims feel the heat being ripped from their bodies as if it were flames consuming them.” Causes chill build up and freezes the ground upon impact. Inner Warmth: “Before their exile, the outcasts experimented in ingesting flame to cause the body to warm itself from within and resist all freezing temperatures. The user is said to also experience a boost in stamina regeneration, how many died to prefect this pyromancy?” Become immune to all frost buildup and gain stamina regeneration. Explosive Fumes: “The outcasts were inspired by the heretic Eingyi who was the first to alter pyromancy in unnatural ways, this pyromancy is said to be the first of many unnatural pyromancies crafted by the outcasts who followed Eingyi example and were exiled for it.” Creates a mist of fumes that explodes into a fireball upon contact with fire. The Ringed City: Occult Pyromancy Tome - “A tome of forbidding pyromancies crafted for the purpose of slaying the gods. This tome once belonged to a Pyromancer who harnessed the dark fires of humanity and vowed to burn the divine with its flames. Long ago a band of heretics attempted to murder the gods of Anor Londo but it unsuccessful, this tome is proof of their agenda.” Occult Flame: “A pyromancy that taps into the dark burning nature of hatred and manifests it as a burning fire. This fire caresses weapons of violence and drives its user to acts of malice. A testament to how much the pyromancer hated the gods.” Coats weapons in a flame that causes dark and fire damage. Burning Pursuer: “A pyromancy that taps into the very depths of the abyss and summons forth a burning humanity sprite that is drawn towards life. The gods used humanity to fuel the flame and some humanity still burns even to this day and cries out in silent agony.” Summons a burning slow moving pursuer that tracts it’s target and causes both dark and fire damage upon impact. Abyssal Pus Orb: “A pyromancy that manipulates the darkness within all man and causes it manifest as a black orb of pus that can be used upon enemies. The pus is thick and highly flammable, victims find their movement limited and burn more intensely should they catch fire. The pyromancer intended to use this pyromancy against the silver knights guarding Anor Londo but it was never used.” Tosses an orb of pus that covers its target in highly flammable slime and limits movement for a short period. Added Catalyst - Occult Pyromancer Flame: “Long ago a pyromancer vowed to murder the gods and see all Anor Londo burn to ashes. An agreement was made with an abyssal serpent and a dark flame that burned deep within the abyss was given to the pyromancer. This flame burns with true dark and can only cast dark based pyromancies, it’s power grows more intense with hollowing. Occult Combustion - Casts a Dark Fire that causes dark damage and fire damage.” A catalyst that casts only dark pyromancy spells and scales also with hollowing. Hey, I can dream can’t I? :P

                                                                                                • Anonymous

It’s a bit of a shame they didn’t include “Immolation” from DS2. Granted the spell is a bit crazy to use due to it being able to kill the user, it did really come in handy with enemies who loved to get up close and personal. Personally, they could have brought it back and removed the damage factor to the user, making it more appealing...but that’s wishful thinking and thus it will never happen.

                                                                                                  • Can you drop pyromancies for others to pick up when you summon someone? I away from my pyromancy trophy and it's unfortunately the Darkmoon covenant rank 2 reward. Anyone willing to drop it for me? I'll let the trophy pop and then drop it back to you. I'm a pure melee build, so don't need it.

                                                                                                    • Anonymous

hello fellow players what is the best PVE build for pyromancies i would like to know, also my play style is aggressive if that helps.

                                                                                                      • I don't understand why pyromancies such as Boulder Heave, Poison Mist, etc, are spit out of your character's mouth in the same fashion as DS1. They fixed this nonsense in DS2 by having you actually use the flame in your hand as it's supposed to be, that's why it's called a freaking catalyst. Christ, it's like people resented DS2 with such passion the developers had no choice but to douse the fanboy rage by stuffing this game with as much content from the first one as they could dig out, including a ridiculous animation of a person hurling a big-ass rock from his mouth.

                                                                                                        • Anonymous

                                                                                                          • Anonymous
