Unironically one of the best items in the game!!! I love it so much!!! Players who waste this treasure as a Bait must be heavyly braindead!!!

Can confirm, 1 out of 7 time dropping this as a bait in invasions allows me to kick the victim off a cliff

There is also one in the ringed city on the bridge where you first encounter Midir

I love the thought of bringing this to the handmaiden and her going "ah, gracious" as she drops a single soul into your hand

drop a 99 stack of these when you invade and see a bunch of ****ing ganker meta builds, then BC out

Could be used as bait in invasions, assuming you have nothing of less value on hand

its funny how lore friendly this item is for patches. he even sells the damn thing in the 3rd one. luring greedy people in just to spring a trap on them. this reminds me i gotta kick patches again.
- Anonymous
its only there so you can dump your souls into something after completing your build, i probably made patches rich with these bad boys

That moment when you realise to get max of every buyable item that stacks, you have to get 699 of the most useless item in the game

"Acts like the Pendant from Dark Souls 1" except you can't trade it so it that means it does nothing, right?

Enemies in Undead Settlement appear to drop this more often after entering Ringed City the first time in the active ng(+s). Can't confirm if its just an odd coincidence.

Hmmm maybe it will gain a use in The Ringed City because it does mention rubbish in the trailer....

Tbh i think it fits that patches sells these. You put the item near a cliff and as the "greedy guts" approaches thinking treasure they get a kick, stab, slam, ligthning, magic or my personal favourite a greatarrow in the back and off they go
What the ***** was the purpose of this item? Shouldnt this have been an item that does something instead?

A troll can block someones path for twenty minutes then leave them five rubbish as a gift before they depart. They would probably assume it's something better.

This is trivial...However, i think rubbish is dropped when you mess up a secret or questline possibility. E.g at the undead settlement the hidden npc that tells you to jump in the cage.(pit of hollows covenant) if you kill the npc and attack the guy with the cage on his back you get rubbish. If you dont kill on sight you get the mound makers covenant. Its a long shot but it seems sensible as breaking chests gives you rubbish instead of treasure. Mabye its a subliminal hint to say you messed up a secret. That wouldnt explain why patches sells it though

It can be traded to the crow, just got the Porcine shield.

Obviously rubbish is a trap item, and that is why you can buy it from the infamous deceiver Patches !! just drop it in some edge or tight place - where you can plunge or backstab - and trick invader/host

Rubbish cannot be traded to the crows for one titanite slab per playthrough.

Perhaps it may be used to lure unsuspecting players into a false sense of security in PvP. When dropped it may appear as an item pick up.

The birds do not trade this item this time around like they did in DS2.... Anyone found a use? Maybe the creator finally decided to troll everyone and actually make rubbish no more than just rubbish. Lol
Greatest item to counter ganker who likes to summon his buddies when he's losing.
