Armor Type Helms

Scholar's Shed Skin is an unused armor piece in Dark Souls 3. It would've been part of the Scholar Set.

Skin shed from a sage of the Grand Archives. The ivory wax has hardened, forming a mask.

Wax protected the inquirer from the foulness that permeated the majority of the texts, preventing one's anchor of reason from being too easily washed away.

Location/Where to Find

  • This headpiece was removed from the final game, and is impossible to obtain in-game through legitimate means.

Notes and Tips

  • Presumably provides immunity to Curse, like the temporary wax state when dunking ones' head in the wax pools of the Grand Archives.
  • Despite being removed, the Prima Guide Book that came with the Collector's Edition still makes mention of it.

I once was someone with it in the zone after, he put it on, and changed the head to symbol of avarice, and then he changed back to this, so HE DIDNT come from grand archives. It was an actual item he had

Notice that people wearing this arent always hackers, and wearing this Helm is virtually harmless unless somehow it has extremely buffed stats
        1. This could be from someone in the GA, as warping between bonfires won't get rid of it
        2. Someone picked this helmet up and is wearing it, either passed down or given to them directly by the hacker themselves
        3. The person wearing this is a hacker, sometimes tho

I srsly saw a dude with this yesterday and thought it was a legit item, good to know now that he was hacking.

To whoever modded their PS4 save and put this on there, please do the same with the gold and silver tracers. They're also on the game files

over the course of about 600 or so hours of PvP on Ps4, I've seen somebody wearing it once; and it was worn by an aldritch faithful, far away from the grand archives. So it's just obscenely rare.
