Sirris of the Sunless Realms is an NPC in Dark Souls 3.
General Information
Can be killed. Once dead, the player can buy her Armor Set from the Shrine Handmaid.
- Gives "Darkmoon Loyalty" gesture.
- Equipment and Spells in combat: Estoc, Sunless Talisman, Darkmoon Blade, Great Heal, Magic Barrier.
- Can be summoned for Abyss Watchers and Deacons of the Deep after meeting her for a second time in Firelink Shrine. Can be summoned for Dragonslayer Armour and the Twin Princes after she swears loyalty to the player.
Questline
- Start: Road of Sacrifices trigger. Speak with Sirris of the Sunless Realms in Firelink Shrine after you speak to Horace and Anri of Astora.
- Find and give the Dreamchaser's Ashes to the Shrine Handmaid in the Firelink Shrine.
- Speak with Sirris at Firelink Shrine and gain the Darkmoon Loyalty Gesture.
- Kill the Sulyvahn's Beast at the bridge near the Irithyll of the Boreal Valley bonfire. Reload the world and find her summon sign on the bridge around where the Sulyvahn's Beast spawned. Use it to be summoned into her world and help her kill Creighton the Wanderer. (*note* You have to light the Central Irithyll bonfire to get the sign to appear.) Sirris's Sign Location
- For the Creighton the Wanderer interaction you don't need to kill Curse-rotted Greatwood. You only need to light the second bonfire across the bridge, teleport back to first bonfire from there and you'll see the sign.
- If her summon sign does not appear killing the Curse-rotted Greatwood makes it appear.
- If you've already killed the Cursed-rotten Greatwood and her sign doesn't appear, warp back to Firelink after activating the bonfire after the bridge then go back to the beginning of the bridge. Her sign should appear. If you haven't crossed the bridge and lit the bonfire on the other side, her sign may not appear.
- You don't actually have to kill the Sulyvahn's Beast, just cross the bridge and her sign should appear once you reload the area.
- If her sign continues to not appear, completely resetting the game has been shown to solve the problem on occasion.
- Make sure that she left Firelink Shrine after you've given her the Dreamchaser's Ashes and received the gesture, if you travel to Irithyll right after talking to her the sign will not be there yet.
- You have to kill Deacons of the Deep to receive the "small doll" to pass through the barrier at the end of the starting bridge in Irithyll of the Boreal Valley, then reload the area.
- Talk to her at Firelink Shrine to receive a Blessed Mail Breaker and the Silvercat Ring.
- After defeating Aldrich use the summon sign outside the Curse-Rotted Greatwood boss area to be summoned into her world and help her kill Hodrick.
Note: For this step, a unique Budding Green Blossom will appear within the Shrine Handmaid's shop inventory (Costing 10 souls). The item description has a special notation that reads: "Good-bye, dear Grandmother. I will visit Grandfather, in the Pit of Hollows." Sirris probably left the item with the Shrine Handmaid, before confronting Holy Knight Hodrick, her Grandfather. Its appearance in the shop can be used to confirm your progress in the questline, but purchasing it is not required. Defeating Yhorm is also not required. (if the summon sign does not appear outside of the Curse-Rotted Greatwood fight, killing the Curse-Rotted Greatwood will spawn the sign) - When you return to your world, Holy Knight Hodrick's armor (the Sunset Armor Set) will be right by the Pit of Hollows bonfire and the Sunset Shield will be at Hodrick's grave, between Firelink Shrine and the Iudex Gundyr boss bonfire, where the hollow standing at the edge of the cliff can be found. NOTE: You may need to log out and then back in for the items to appear. Picking up the shield may be necessary to make her summon sign appear before the Twin Princes boss fight.
- Speak with her for the final time at Firelink Shrine, and she will swear fealty to you.
If you decline she disappears from the Firelink Shrine and becomes hollow at the Pit of Hollows.
If you accept her vows, she will not fight back if you choose to kill her, allowing the player to easily get her equipment. - After defeating the Twin Princes, her corpse can be found at her grandfather's grave between the Firelink Shrine and Iudex Gundyr bonfires, containing the Sunless Talisman and her armor can now be purchased at the Shrine Handmaid.
Questline Quirks and Failures
- She leaves Firelink Shrine and becomes hostile if the player gives Rosaria a Pale Tongue to increase her covenant's level and may leave if the player kills Company Captain Yorshka (as of regulation 1.05, simply changing your appearance or reallocating stats does not fail her questline).
- Doing the above before looting her body will result in her turning hostile.
- It is no longer possible to speedrun to Rosaria to offer a Pale Tongue before ever meeting Sirris to avoid failing her quest. Sirris will simply not show up, and giving the Dreamchaser's Ashes to the Handmaid does not fix this.
- She'll skip first encounter dialogue if the player gets the Dreamchaser's Ashes before talking to her once.
- If you want to speed up the last step, kill her after she pledges herself to you, since this would have the same effect as the last step (for doing Leonhard's quest for the Crescent Moon Sword and other items).
- Denying her offer for loyalty will result in her becoming hollow. She can be found praying at the Pit of Hollows altar, just like her grandfather. Defeating her will drop the Sunless Talisman.
Notes
- If you by any chance failed to retrieve the Mound Maker covenant before killing the Curse-Rotted Greatwood, you will receive the covenant after defeating Holy Knight Hodrick in the Pit of Hollows in Sirris' questline (will be received directly when spawning back in your world).
- Her summon sign for the Deacons of the Deep battle is next to the fog gate. The Dried Finger will let the player summon Anri, Horace, and Sirris for the battle.
Dialogue
First encounter (Firelink Shrine)
Mm, you're an Unkindled, aren't you.
I am Sirris, of the Sunless Realms, former servant of the Divinity.
Duties we each bear, but one's duty is a solitary affair.
I doubt we've much to gain from fraternisation.
Blessing of the moon upon your journey."
Second encounter (Firelink Shrine)
Hello again.
I have since heard a great deal about you.
For one, that you are most gentle of heart.
I, too, am bound by duty, but can offer you my sign.
I hear that cordial intrusion lays the path to embers.
If I can be of help, by all means, do call upon me.
Blessing of the moon upon your journey."
"If you should require assistance, use my sign.
Blessing of the moon upon your journey."
Creighton the Wanderer
Thank you for your kind assistance.
Blessing of the moon upon your journey."
Third encounter (Firelink Shrine)
Mm, I have not thanked you, for your generous rescue.
That Dark Spirit was one of Rosaria's Fingers. Vile bastard offspring who lurk in the darkness.
My sworn enemies.
Fearsome invaders, to say the least.
I would not have made it alone. You have my deepest gratitude."
"If you require help on your travels, I offer you my sign.
Blessing of the moon upon your journey."
Holy Knight Hodrick
I finally found you.
Just as I promised, grandad, remember?"
"Good night, grandad..."
Fourth encounter (Firelink Shrine)
Oh, there you are.
I'm afraid I've involved you in my affairs, over a little promise, at that.
My sincerest thanks for your assistance.
At last, my grandfather will rest in peace, and I can die.
But there is...one last thing.
May I take a vow? To serve you, as a knight."
[Refuse]
Yes, of course.
I am afraid I have overstepped my bounds.
But if you might ever reconsider, and allow me to avow myself to you...
Do not hesitate to speak up.
Blessing of the moon upon your journey."
"Oh, hello again. May I avow mysef to you?
As a faithful knight, yours and true."
[Accept her knightly vow]
Oh, I am most grateful.
I, Sirris, do hereby serve as your faithful knight.
Wherever, whenever, I am needed, and even if all should turn against you...
My loyalty shall never waver.
Blessing of the moon upon your journey."
"If I may ever be of assistance, call upon me.
I am your knight, forever and true.
Blessing of the moon upon your journey."
Joining Rosaria's Fingers
"Mm, I see that you are now a Finger of Rosaria.
Your path is wholly different to mine.
Gentle Unkindled, I bid you farewell.
If we meet again, it will be as adversaries."
When fought after joining Rosaria's Fingers
"Yes, I see, an errant Finger you've become.
Very well. I will cut each Finger from the hand."
While dying
"Forgive me, grandad..."
Trivia
- Sirris is voiced by Lillie Flynn, who also voiced Emeron in the 2007 rogue-like hack and slash game Hellgate: London.

to everyone who just cant find her summon sign no matter what, double check if u have the tower behind the shrine open or not. for whatever stupid reason that fixed it for me, i found her in the shrine and then found her summon sign on the bridge.
- Anonymous
Just how on Earth are you supposed to find her summon sign at the Irithyll bridge? The sign doesn't appear until AFTER you've crossed the bridge. A bridge that you have absolutely no reason to backtrack on. She also makes no mention whatsoever of this bridge, or of Irythill in general. Nothing about this encounter is even remotely hinted at, and the encounter itself is also totally random and has no relation at all to the rest of the questline. Fromsoft... why are you so bad at this?
- Anonymous
"If you accept her vows, she will not fight back if you choose to kill her, allowing the player to easily get her equipment."
Regardless of how true this may be, this is a sentence that should not be written
- Anonymous
I think the section about purchasing the budding green blossom not being necessary is wrong. For me the summon sign never appeared without buying the item in 4 playthroughs, but this time I actually remembered to buy it and the sign appeared instantly.
- Anonymous
How is someone supposed to know to look for her sign "outside the rotted greatwood boss area" after defeating Aldritch? Do we just endlessly roam the entire map after every major event to make sure everyone's taken care of? Can FS make one ****ing NPC quest that isn't some opaque horeshit, please? I shouldn't need a wiki to complete every one of these, but here we are.
- Anonymous
The most useless sac of **** npc to use in a boss fight. Spends an eternity buffing and then single pokes the boss with her estoc before before being hit once and running off to mega heal herself. like wtf take some fing aggro already!
- Anonymous
Mind that if you complete Sirris quest up to point 8, and then you do Rosaria's, you'll find her in Firelink Shrine telling you that next time she'll see you, you'll be enemies. Then you can't summin Sirris for the boss fights. Wish the guide mentioned that, as everyone say the quest end with point 8, but it's not

So because I’d somehow never found Rosaria in my first playthrough, I was going around trying to find new things and came across her in NG+ (Journey 2). “Finally,” I thought, “something new AND a use for these tongues that were gathering dust in my inventory. How lucky.” What I didn’t know was that the weird woman in the Firelink Shrine I’d only ever spoken to twice total would then decide that made me her enemy. So I steeled myself, brought out my FUGS and whacked her four times. I was genuinely surprised by how little of a fight she put up. She’s meant to be a Pale Tongue hunter right? So she should have been like, I dunno? Yura the Bloody Finger Hunter? Or even Eileen the Crow? But nope, the Lord of Hollows obliterated her by accident. And she’s meant to be our knight? In the words of Smash Bros Robin to Lucina: “How are you supposed to protect (me) if you can’t even protect yourself?”

Everything about Rosaria is outdated in this article. You can safely join the covenant and change your statistics or appearance without consequence with Sirris. Just avoid offering Pale Tongues to deepen the covenant.
- Anonymous
Would be cool, if upon gaining her loyalty she became summonable for every boss fight, but alas, her loyalty is absolutely worthless, and easily broken by offering Rosaria a tongue ...
- Anonymous
If you could only summon her grandpa instead, that mf can really put up a fight
- Anonymous
I feel bad reading all these comments about how she's bad. She landed the final blow against Abyss Watchers, right after I had died, giving me the victory. I can't mind if she dies while I'm helping her out.
- Anonymous
aw man i helped her after killing the twin princes. i assume if i relog n visit the grave she'll be dead then.
- Anonymous
Wow, Sirris. You were so utterly worthless in combat when I tried to help you against your senile grandad. 7 times. So I decided to offer Rosaria pale tongues to further myself and killed your stupid ass to collect your souls. No regrets.
- Anonymous
Can you still get the 5 free level and do sirris questline??
- Anonymous
I feel like im doing too much when helping her, like wtf are you a princess dear ? Am i here to help you out or to protect you and put your enemy down alone im asking rn? Dont get me wrong, i just feel funny not even mad, still love this lady btw <3
- Anonymous
The most useless summon out of all in this game. Summoning her for the twin princes is recommended if you want to make the fight even harder. Summon Orbeck too for some extra added difficulty. They're truly the Dumb and Dumber of that fight, Sirris loves to buff her weapon in Lorian's face while getting slapped around by his greatsword, and Orbeck shoots farron darts that do 10 damage.
It's kind of a letdown that Sirris is this weak, she should be a prime example of a powerful Darkmoon knight, on a quest to hunt down her mad undead grandfather. Yet she becomes a damsel in distress cause her damage is just ridiculous even with the darkmoon buff and she absolutely can't tank enemy hits. Leave her alone for 8 seconds and she's over.
- Anonymous
uh oh...i killed anri and horace...where did she go after firelink?
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
I love how they tried to make her a warrior apart of an ancient covenant specialized to kill the guilty with a hatred towards invaders but she ironically becomes a damsel in distress because her damage and health are so low.
- Anonymous
Sirris of the Useless Realms.
I seriously don't get why From put in the effort of making this cool sword-fighter lady on a dark quest to put down her crazy undead grandad, who belongs to a shadowy sect of badasses who punish evil and who wields an awesome unique magic buff, then give her **** damage and now ability to tank. Such a potentially cool character held back by being mechanically terrible. Sirris might be the single worst summon in the game and the fact that she is there for Abyss Watchers, Deacons and Twin Princes is almost insulting.
Anri is the true sword-waifu, now and forever.
- Anonymous
Pfft. Sirris. Lucatiel is where it is at...until she loses her memory...and turns hollow...*cries into Lucatiel body pillow*.
- Anonymous
How on earth does this chick use a bEstoc with Darkmoon Blade and absolutely suck at damage?
- Anonymous
The most convoluted quest line that you won't follow unless you google her and Horace....
- Anonymous
Can I still get the sunset, even after offering just one tongue to rosaria? I made this mistake and I can't figure it out how to undo it
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
A tip to killing Hodrick is to bring Undead Talismans to the fight (idk how are they called in English), this will block his Estus and make it easier to kill him.
- Anonymous
So if she becomes hostile does she just disappear from the playthrough? Didn’t know she would become hostile after swearing fealty but before twin princes. I’m gonna have to dupe a darkmoon talisman aren’t I
- Anonymous
She did okay against the invader. Went a round with him, ran off to heal, i backstab him, she comes back and distract him and I backstab again, he focuses on me and she distracts him again and backstab, he gets up and we double teamed him and killed him. Okay she tickled him, but she still aggro'd him enough for me to backstab him.
- Anonymous
She left firelink shrine before I could give handmaiden dreamchasers ashes after i killed Crystal Sage. Haven’t done Farron’s Keep yet. Hope she returns.
- Anonymous
I tried summoning her whenever she was available in a recent playthrough, the only fight she was helpful in (and the only one she survived to the end of) was Abyss Watchers. She's kinda tanky during Dragonslayer Armor but does like 40 damage. She unsurprisingly accomplished nothing on Deacons, then wandered around in circles through phase 1 of Twin Princes and instantly melted in phase 2
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
ok how does she deals like 0 dmg with Estoc + Darkmoon blade?
- Anonymous
If you don't talk to her after killing Hodrick in the pit of Hollows, she'll stay in Firelink Shrine permanently provided you never start up a convo. This is purely in case you don't care about the reward and enjoy having your shrine as populated as possible
- Anonymous
She’s so bad she has to alt f4 every time you die against creighton or grand daddy
- Anonymous
in the invasion if she dies and you quickly kill creighton, even though it says teleporting back because she died, it still counts as good, and she appears in firelink
- Anonymous
So if she swears loyalty to me, can I go to rosaria and offer a pale tongue and it not affect her
- Anonymous
She cannot be a knight. She has zero skills with her weapon. The only damage comes from her Darkmoon Blade buff. Which she has from Yorshka which demands 30 proofs of concord in exchange for the miracle. So the question is HOW DID SHE GET THOSE EARS???
- Anonymous
I found out that you must kill Greatwood for her sign to appear outside the boss room.
- Anonymous
Important to note that refusing her fealty does not immediately result in her going hollow; you can talk to her again and agree even after re-returning to Firelink.
I'm guessing she will then only go hollow after your next boss fight OR after the Twin Princes?
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
ALT+F4 the moment you hear her die during the segments where you help her, then when you open the game again you will be able to try again without her dying permanently.
- Anonymous
Why do so many people waifu her? She seems like an ordinary girl, or am I missing something?
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
the handmaid really put the "you killed me" tax on the budding blossom, huh.
- Anonymous
Dammit. Didn't know you're not allowed to join Rosaria. I kinda wanted to do that questline. Well, I guess that's something to do on NG.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Funny how she performs better during the dragonslayer boss fight compared to the Creighton fight.

I made a faith character as a change to my usual dex build in the souls games. I followed Sirrus' questline as I wanted her armour set, and when I realised what was going on with Hodrick and Sirris, it hit me in the feels.
I messed up her questline right at the end first time I did it, by trying to do Leonhards story without beating the princes, so I never saw the end.
My miracle blade ofvthe darkmoon character really grew on me, so I started going for trophie on her for NG+, where I had to hand in a tongue to Rosaria to get the gestures from Heysel, etc.
NG++ was where no more mistakes. Did every quest and story (as well as rings) in full, bringing Sirris to every fight I could even the ones she makes it harder in like the Twin Princes.
At the I was expecting to find Sirris' talisman by Hodricks grave, which would be bad enough...
When I actually saw her on top of the grave, I have to admit my throat genuinely locked up....

She has to be the worst and most useless NPC in the entire Souls series.
- Anonymous
I exhausted her two initial dialogues at the shrine, then i decided to ignore her sign on the bridge. After taking out Dancer, i actually found the bouquet in Shrine maiden inventory and bought it. Just to refresh my memory, i went back on the bridge and realized her sign is still there. I went beside the Pit and also found her sign. Seems like i can still do both, but does that mean that i'll lock her other steps if i do either?
- Anonymous
Got summoned and witnessed Siris 1v1 Creighton and absolutely destroy him. Welp, so much for needing help
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
It seems like i've failed this questline. I currently done everything up to step 6 (Killed Aldrich) but the special Budding Green Blossom doesn't appear in the lady's inventory, and there's no summon sign at the entrance to the Gurse-Rotted Greatwoods room.
Any help?
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
she does like 60 damage to invader lmao i think her weapons are +0 ai is dogshit too she never heals you have to tank so she doesnt die
- Anonymous
Just to let you know guys, I spoke to her only once to get the darkmoon loyalty gesture, then I completely ignored all other steps, killed Soul of Cinder, and still managed to complete all other steps in her questline. So if you think you progressed too far in the game you didn't.
- Anonymous
She must get so sweaty in all that armour. Probably doesn't get too many opportunities to wash, either.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
Just played with friend and didn't need to get her appear second time on waifu house (before giving dreamchasers ashes to handmaiden) to summon her for deacons of the deep bossfight(didnt summon her but her summon sign was there)
but old wolf of farron bonfire was lit though
- Anonymous
I can't find her corpse and the summon is not available.
- Didn't join Rosaria
- All bonfires of the game and DLC are lift
- Dreamchasers ashes are given to handmaiden
Any ideas?
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
If she’s from a sunless realm wound end she be blind in a place the sun is ?
- Anonymous
dreamchasers ashes need to be given to the shrine handmaiden for sirris to appear on the bridge.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
The Boss page states that Sirris can be summoned for a lot of boss fight... but don't remember see any of her summon sign in any boss encounter area.
- Anonymous
Well, it is 100% possible to completely miss her questline. I somehow did the Rosaria part before ever meeting Sirris. The very first time I saw Sirris was at the Firelink shrine and she told me we were enemies now, and I was like: 'who the hell are you?' LOL
- Anonymous
All these questlines and summon signs are really stupid. All need to be done required only diehard fans to go search all possible progression routes. If play the game blindly then won't get ****. The one planning all these in formsoftware should be fired.
- Anonymous
She can be summoned for the twin prince fight also, next to the fog door LHS.
- Anonymous
Nooo why does she have to kill herself. Could've been a great waifu. :((
Damn you dark souls
- Anonymous
She says, "But...my vows..." if you kill her after accepting her request to be your knight.
- Anonymous
It's ridiculous how weak she is when you help her as a summon, or when she helps you as a summon. She barely deals any damage even with buffed weapon, has low HP and defences, pretty stupid AI that forces her to go melee with 10% hp while she still has Estus and FP for casting her heals. Not to mention how fast she drops dead in Twin Princes fight without even damaging them! Her only role is to facetank for about 20-30s and die, giving you a little breathing room to go ham on the boss.
- Anonymous
how this woman doing so low damage with a weapon WHEN ITS BUFFED WITH DARKMOON BLADE
- Anonymous
i accepted her service and checked out her sign location (NG, 99 hollowing) both embered an not, and i couldn't find it.
- Anonymous
If you kill her after accepting her pledge to you after you kill Hodrick together she will say, “my vows” instead of her usual death line.
- Anonymous
If you join Rosaria’s covenant too soon after Sirris Pledges Loyalty, she will act like she never pledged loyalty.
So I guess don’t immediately pledge after Sirris pledges like I did when this happened to me.
- Anonymous
If I already have Rosaria a pale tongue, can I be forgiven by going to Velka?
- Anonymous
Which heartless women sells the flowers that her granddaughter gave her
- Anonymous
Just to note, after her vows I joined Rosario's covenant (not equipped covenant item) and have respecced and changed appearance, she was still summonable for dragonslayer armor fight so I assume that once she's taken her vows it should be safe to join and respect at rosarias
- Anonymous
You don't have to kill Sulivan's Beast in order for her summon requesting your assistance killing Creighton to appear.
- Anonymous
Ngl I felt reeeal bad killing her but you can thank Dark Souls DEsiGn TeAm for that mhmm
- Anonymous
She swore to be my knight but in the end died before i linked the fire...

What happens if I finish her questline but DON'T summon her for the twin princes boss fight? Does she stay alive?

Doesn’t Hodrik die if you kille the cursed rotted I remember not being able to do her quest if I killed it
- Anonymous
I remember when I fought Hodrick with her, he parried me and then she stabbed him in the face

Imo I really like Sirris as a character. Her story is in depth and a bit mysterious, she gives a cool ring, and her build is legit (I like how self-reliant she is). She's got good damage and health for Iron Dragonslayer and Twin Princes so she's really good for pulling agro too. Plus her personality is pretty cool
- Anonymous
I talked to her in firelink shrine, she gave me the gesture and dissapeared. I gave the ashes to the shrine-maid and there was sirri again, everything seemed cool. But when I went to fight the Abyss Watchers there was no summon sign, only Gotthards...
- Anonymous
"Hi, Sirris"
[enters boss\npc fight, gets one shot]
"Bye Sirris"
- Anonymous
I was fighting her in the Firelink Shrine (with her fighting back) and after she self-healed two or three times with her miracles, she just vanished out the world mid-fight when I next got her around half-health. Is she now just gone completely from this cycle and I have to wait until NG+ to attempt to fight her again?
- Anonymous
I think that you should add something like this:
"If you join Fingers of Rosaria after Sirris pledged loyalty to you she will appear in firelink shrine to warn you of her becoming an adversarie of yours, you can kill her here as a last chance of getting the sunless talisman and her armor set"
I'm not sure if she vanishes out of your world after that if you don´t kill her or if she hollows in the normal location, but i would bet for the first one.
- Anonymous
It seems that you can skip the Irithyll fight and still complete her questline. I was quite far into my game when I decided to do her questline and when I went back to Irithyll, her summon sign wasn't on the bridge. (no matter how many times I reloaded, etc) So I went to her next location beside the Pit of Hollows (after buying the budding green blossom) and her sign was there and her questline continued as normal. Just thought I'd mention it :)
- Anonymous
Reminder that you are able to reallocate your stats and change your appearance without failing her questline. The only thing you can’t do with Rosaria is offer a pale tongue specifically to level up the covenant.
As at least one other person said, it would be nice to be more clear that you shouldn't offer any tongues to Rosaria until AFTER doing the ENTIRE quest including killing the twin Princes...
