Thrusting Swords are a type of Weapon in Dark Souls 3. These Weapons usually do little to moderate damage per swing, but attack rather quickly, have good reach, and are capable of punishing counter-attacks. Many can also attack from behind a raised shield. Thrusting Swords replace the kick with a quick retreating attack that does minor damage.

These are the best weapon type against quickstep. The skill has counter frames in the moment after using it, and if you attack as soon as you hear their dodge sound, you'll get a good hit in. Will shred healthbars in seconfs with leo ring since they're liable to keep spamming WA anyway

One good thing about thrusting swords you'll almost never hit walls on accidents when using r1's
The only thing I want out of rapiers is one more that isn’t the darn Estoc or Irithyll Rapier with Shield Splitter. Stance on weapons was nice and all at first. Now it’s kind of meh since everyone knows what’s what these days. Shield Splitter imo has better utility overall. It’s the same with spears. I’d much prefer shield splitter on one or two more instead of charge.

one of the most useless weapon categories in the game for pve on paper, except for maybe attacking behind shields, but if you are just doing pve, these weapons are the worst you could have

running attack combos into the special kick animation, if you can land it

Rapier's aren't "bad", but they're not really "good" either. I feel they should have more range, but sadly they don't. The longest ones struggle to match basic longsword range, seemingly attack at the same speed, but they deal less damage, and require more stat points. The only saving grace is counter attacks seem do deal 15% more damage across all weapons. Thrust damage deals a bit more, as during attack animations thrust defences are reduced by 30%. The damage bonus stacks multiplicatively with the Leo Ring which gives a 15% bonus, meaning you should get counter pokes that deal 133% damage and are 30% less resisted (in practical terms against sl.125 player, 30% less thrust defences is about 5-9% more damage).

From didn't even have the courtesy to give the retreating attack a single i-frame

If your reactions are fast enough, you can hit and stagger people mid-swing, with the added bonus of counter damage. (Would not recommend trying against hyper armor weapons)

I really like playing around with the Stance WA, but it's a shame only two rapiers have it. One is the shortest rapier in the game and the other is the longest rapier, but is geared towards INT.

Kinda surprised there's no twin rapier weapon. I mean, twin straight swords, twin maces, even twin greatswords. Just think it's kinda weird.

I need some Velka Rapier in this game to make the rapiers great again.

how gud is poise with crow quills is that weapon even worth my tantanite?
- Anonymous
Am I the only one not a big fan of their attack animation? I tried using them in PvE and enemy with even not so high poise (like Cathedral Gray Warden) push back attacks with these. Not to mention one of the attack animation when we combo with this has us retreat backwards and then push forward, it's rather slow and easily punishable by anyone with medium poise. And these weapons are almost unusable against Black Knights/Silver Knights/anyone with high poise.

Those complaining about rapiers and the estoc in specific need to realize it's the scrubs R1/RB spamming that ruin the weapons reputation. Rapiers actually have a very versatile moveset and shouldn't be seen as the "kill yourself" weapon or the "git gud" weapon. That's just from my experience with each of the rapiers though so it may differ for you all.
