Twin Dragon Greatshield is a Weapon in Dark Souls 3.



The lightest of all greatshields, made from wood and decorated with a two-headed dragon.

Greatshields are the largest type of shield, and offer both high stability and damage absorption, making it easy to deflect enemy attacks.

Skill: Shield Bash
Without lowering your guard, strike the enemy with the shield to knock them back or stagger them. Works while equipped in either hand."

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X". 
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped. 
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has: Regular(R), Thrust(T), Slash(Sl), Strike(St)

      This item seems to disappear at some point.

      I beat the full game while picking up the minimum required items, and collecting them all afterwards, but this one (and the corpse it was on) is missing.

        Useful if you REALLY want to use a greatshield's shield bash on a non strength/quality build or if you want to be able to deflect small weapons, but that's basically it for this shield.

          In comparison to the Black Knight Shield, for weighing 0.5 less, having 14 more Lightning negation, having 3 more Stability, and being able to repel certain attacks due to the properties of this being a Greatshield, this loses 16 Physical negation, 6 Magic negation, 22 Fire negation, and 4 Dark negation. OOF.

            Attacks that deflect off of your shield have their damage reduced, and as a Greatshield, this benefits from being able to deflect most regular enemy attacks.

            Most of the time, you are blocking much higher than 84% of damage, only against larger foes will you find their attacks do full damage bleed through.

            You'll take less damage against regular mobs defending with this than you will the Grass Crest Shield, despite the lower physical damage reduction on this.

              It's not THAT bad, at least for when you get it in the game. You definitely won't be using it forever, but it's a decent early game option for aspiring turtles.

                It is ideal with Great Magic Shield: Just at +3 it already raises to 100 STABILITY and you only need 16 STR and 18 INT! To me it sounds like lots of fun at low levels with Cleric's Candlestick and Untrue Dark Ring.

                  A shame its physical block isn't 100%. Would have been interesting to see low level great shield builds, or non-STR builds use it more often. At the very least, sorcerers & hybrids can make good use of this.

                  Great Magic Shield is overkill, and turns every shield into a great shield, but it costs so much FP and only lasts for half a minute. So Magic Shield is actually the better buff, because only requires 10 INT. Even though physical block still doesn't reach 90% with the buff on, the chip damage can be offset with HP regen, and the stability gained is still worth it for the total duration with Lingering Dragon Crest.

                    Actualy i think the description lies to you because the cult to the archdragons is forbidden, so the ancient dragon shield is lighter but is hidden from the world and almost no one knows it exist.
                    i preefer to think this instead of a descripton error

                        I've looked all over the swamp and forest, yet i still can't find it.......I need a great shield thats below 30 str otherwise aldrich and dancer are gonna wreck me...

                          just tested and confirmed as of July 2019: this shield still does spawn in the swamp, but DOES NOT in the first ng+ cycle. Used other data files that were ng+3 as a cross reference and it checks out - they are all short one Twin Dragon GS. not sure if this was intentionally implemented but alas, at least now we know &we can all laugh at our first playthrough past self.

                              At the top of the page It says it's a weapon, & I highly disagree. Because greatshields are used for defense, & not beating to a pulp.

                                Decent entry level greatshield for tank builds. Most of the other greatshields have extremely high weight and strength requirements, and will be hard to use at road of sacrifices. It may seem bad that it has 89% physical absorption, but only 11% of their attacks are getting through, and THEN they hit damage reduction and damage absorption so the final damage is negligible. Very good stability for its weight.

                                      I really appreciate this ***** shield. I mean you still take a bit of damage, but it blocks a lot more damage than you think. Saved my buns more times in PvE and PvP than I care to admit. And that "shield bash" is really something else, break right through the enemy line and stab them good like a Roman Legionnaire.
