Undead Legion Set is an Armor in Dark Souls 3.

Attire of the Abyss Watchers, the Undead Legion of Farron.

A black-dyed leather vest worn over chainmail. (Chest)
Black-dyed leather tied around the arms, with only the left fitted with a gauntlet. (Gauntlets)
The iron kneecaps originated from their sword techniques. (Leggings)

These undead warriors vowed to partake of wolf blood. They acted in the dark, seeking out any sign of the Abyss, fighting a constant war with its abominations. This pointed steel helm was a distinct symbol of the Legion, shirked as a sinister omen by the masses.

Notes and Tips

  • This armor set is one of the best armors regarding its stats. The defence/weight rate is really good.
  • The Abyss Watchers stem from the Wolf Knight, who's better known as Artorias the Abysswalker.

I plan to do a whole playthrough as an abyss watcher, so basically the farron great sword, the covenant and the armor set. I'll even play without a sheild, since they are forbidden. Would all this be a good idea? And what class should I start as?

      • Anonymous

i actually kinda like how the dragon form head looks with this set. Oh and that would also mean pissing on hawkwood because you're both a dragon and a watcher at the same time.

"This armor set is one of the best armors regarding its stats. The defence/weight rate is really good."

Um, no. The slash defense is the same as the Northern Armor while weighing almost twice as much. It's very good against Casters, but that's situational af.

          • The Sorceror Hood matches the armour perfectly if you want a different look. I'm using it for my daggers run since I'm not worried about poise, and it looks really cool and rogueish while having solid absorption paired with Morne's Leggings and Gauntlets.

Top tier for fashion, no doubt.

Alva leggins, Gundyr gauntlets, undead legion armor and helmet... my kind of choice to look nice and have some poise against the small weapons. Imo the leggins fit very well with the set.

Why is darkness the lowest non-physical resistance? Aren't these guys supposed to be fighting the Abyss?

I guess it's some deep commentary about their fall from grace.

The handmaiden doesn’t sell it! I killed the abyss watchers and joined the covenant too... still can’t get it

I gotta say this but why in God's name does the helmet have a mock up face mask just have the neck cover and the hat idk why they said yeah and a suitdo mask to look like there face in my mind it's just terrible, and really no need for it

This set helped me cross the line vs nameless king at sl1. With Gundyr gauntlets *****ing up a lightning dodge wasn’t an insta death!

If you die be sure to be buried wearing this so you get ressurected from the blood of the dead around you and you come back with a flaming sword

This armor set looks cool but its physical defense it too low, I was level 79 after pontiff fight, but I still got two shot wearing this set by his beasts. I don't know why so many people say armors in dark souls 3 don't matter, when there is a clear difference between this and cathedral knight armor, for example.

Fought someone cosplaying this set.At half HP, cheeky bastard applies a Charcoal Pine Resin. Probably one of my favorite PvP matches.

This is probably the best torso armor for a guts set yeah? I think this matches the best in terms of silhouette and color palette. If you find a better one, let me know.

The armor's cape goes with everything, it's baller asf with whatever helmet and leggings you wear. The helmet is the exact opposite, it only can go with this set, the pointy helmet looks stupid with everything outside of this set tho.
A really good light armor that has high fashion and can be obtained really early if you have the souls.
It may looks edgy, but at least it's not noob uniform like fallen knight set

U could cosplay Vincent Valentine from Final Fantasy with pretty much the whole set of armor, excluding the helmet.

If you look closely, you can see that underneath the high collar is a beaked mask, similar to a plague doctor's attire.

This is intriguing for two reasons:
                                    1) it explains why the crystal sage hat also has a plague doctor's mask; it's simply standard attire of the legion.
                                    2) it proves that the legion viewed the Abyss as a plague, and so used methods to combat it more akin to how 16th century plague doctors combatted the plague. This is similar to how the Hunters of Hunters in Bloodborne use the beak mask to stave off the curse of beasts.

This really makes sense when considering two things:
                                    1) the lore of the abyss watchers is heavily inspired by the black plague.
                                    2) the helmet of the abyss watchers itself says that it was "viewed as a sinister omen by the masses", paying homage to plague doctors as they were often viewed as messengers of death in their respective time period.

the helm is made so that sword strikes cannot land directly on the head. This has real life historic counterparts and is one of the few design choices that makes actual sense in DS3.

I always have the chest piece on, it's one of the lightest chest sets that isn't a dress. I believe the Dancer's chest piece is also a similar weight. All my builds are sub 30% for that quickness so weight is a big factor. Gotta balance fashion and the desire to wield enormous swords.

Hella fun boss fight. Kinda ruined it for myself by summoning a sunbro to help and mopped the floor with the poor bastards.

Sexiest thing I've seen = Undead Legion Chest + Faraam Helm + Executioner Leggings + Gundyr's Gauntlets. Fashion, plus a bit compensated slash defence.

When holding a great/ultra great sword the inside of the right elbow texture is clipped, and you can see the arm of your character

Did any one realise , that there is Black creep on the back of the Cape and the helmet, signalising how they have fallen to the abyss

                                                • Anonymous

I'd like to point out a typing error in the quotes section right before the individual armor piece stats. I believe you ment to type jackasses instead of pros :p.

                                                  • This set + Wolf Knight's Greatshield + Farron Greatsword = 41,1 weight. At 99 Vitality maximum equip load is 139, and 30% of that is 41,7. That means you will be able to be fast and furious with FG has exactly 500 AR at 40 Strength and 40 Dexterity, a perfectly epic boom-stick. In addition to that, it has Parry skill, which might be on the slower side compared to Buckler's (14 frames against 10), but it is there. And the main magic here is concentrated in the Greatshield: its skill is Weapon Skill. Parry from FG, that is. A Greatshield that parries, awesome! Not only that, WKG is a "greatshield", and so it will interrupt some attacks from NPCs or other players alike while blocking, which is great. Not to mention its outstanding defence/weight ratio. I have tried that out; it may seem a beet cheesy, but the feeling of getting an opponent off guard via the Greatshield-Parry thing was totally worth experiencing! :D

                                                    • Anonymous

am I the only one that is seriously feelin that bloodborne feel from this set?no matter how you look at it, if you put this in bloodborne and said "this is a set" it would fit

                                                      • Anonymous

Is it just me or does the arms and hand clip out of the sleeve and gauntlet? The left elbow does seem to do it, in a normal sanding position.

                                                        • Anonymous

For some reason this armor reminds me of Black Mages... especially the Waltz in FF9. Namely the collar and hat, though this has less brim.

I just realized that this is the set that the Crestfallen Warrior is wearing. I was like "Okay, so what's wrong with this Wiki? It doesn't have that guy's awesome *****ing set?" yet here it was, in front of me the whole time....Also, I just realized that that guy was a part of the Abyss Watchers, which explains a lot of how he knew all that ***** about Farron Keep. Unless that was told to you and I just skimmed over it by accident (which is highly possible .____.).

                                                            • Anonymous

If you're more about Fashion Souls than anything else, the chest piece looks good with the Sellsword leggings/gloves and the Fallen Knight hood.

                                                              • Would it kill From to put in a good defending armor set with an amazing cape like this one?! Because it feels like it.... I either don't have a cool azz cape and have good defences or I do have a cool azz cape and can't get hit without fear of dying without high stats.... come on From, give me more cape options!

                                                                • Anonymous

Seems much like Bloodborne reference: could it be linking the two.I remember seeing Manus looking a lot like a alien creature as well, although primitive. Possible connection?

                                                                  • Anonymous

                                                                    • Anonymous

                                                                      • Anonymous
