If there was just *one* thing to pick from covenants, I 'd always pick this one.

The satisfaction of helping random people in a game is immense.

When we succeed together the feeling is absolutely satisfying.

I hope the covenants will return in future fromsoft titles. It's a shame elden ring is so poor (in that aspect of the multiplayer).

I just realized that this isn't the covenant of the Sun's Firstborn / the God of War / the Nameless King anymore. It has become Solaire's covenant posthumously since, according to Miyazaki, if you don't link the Fire in DS1, Solaire does it in his own world. It's Solaire's covenant not just in lore but outside the game because he's the most recognisable and beloved character in the entire Souls series. When players use the "Praise the Sun" gesture, they do it to praise Solaire and the meme, not Gwyn's exiled son who, though shrouded in mystery, didn't even appear in-game before DS3.

You could argue this happened back in DS2 with its "Heirs of the Sun" covenant which gave the Sunlight Straight Sword (and a round shield depicting a sunbro casting Sacred Oath) as a reward but the covenant logo, though a Sun, wasn't the exact same Sun that Solaire drew on his shield and armor.
In Lothric you literally find Solaire's talisman (or an imitation created by his worshipers) in the Farron swamp and his sword tucked away inside a Mimic chest and guarded by two freaking dragons in Lothric castle. His sword has been apparently blessed and requires Faith (in Solaire's legacy). You can also trade with the crow to get his entire armor set.

Warrior of Sunlight Blortron, whoever he is, is my new hero. I was getting lost & killed in the Grand Archives when Blortron was summoned and he led me to all the shortcuts, all the treasure, and all the hidden fights, even killing a mound maker invader in honorable single combat despite there being three of us. Finally, he did all the tanking for the Twin Princes fight. This was a couple weeks back, but I will always remember losing sight of Blortron, hearing fighting and seeing health bars dropping, and coming around the corner to find that he just killed 3 gargoyles that I’d died to in a previous run. I wish that there were more warriors of sunlight like you you make the game amazing.

If you wanna farm sunlight medals, than place your red signs as warriors of sunlight outside pontiff sulyvahns boss room (aka irythyll fight club) or place your co op summon signs outside of nameless king's boss area. That's how I farmed these.

After beating the game on my own twice with different builds, I always summon sunbros for the boss fights during my NG+ runs.
Not that I need them, but I respect they use this way to get Medals because you may wait a lot and it's risky. They make me feel bad sometimes, because I only used invasions to get my 30 Medals so I try to help them on their duty ^^
And I have to say that I love the colors of sunbros phantoms and invaders !

I find it quite curious that you get Medals from successful invasions and red signs. I love PvP, so its all good to me, but it seems way out of line when it comes to Sun Bros culture. As far as i know it at least.

Farming for these medals is down right bull crap I farmed for 3 days with the works (crystal rapier, gold serpent +3, ECT.) Even went to Rosaria and maxed out my luck and after THREE DAYS NOT ONE DROPPED!

I FEEL like drop-rates are better with this covenant badge equipped. I've always farmed with it accordingly. Ofc, I'm probably wrong, and it's just placebo, but... I've also always had easier farming experiences compared to what I hear about from other players.

this is so lame, I finished the game withut ever using any summon (including npc) and then tried some pvp on my new char, invaded some 100 times over the last week and some 90% of hosts were facerolling through every zone with 1 or 2 phantoms, like whats the point of playing this game if youre going to have someone boost you through every zone/boss? I think estus flasks should be completely removed for those summons to make it more balanced.

There needs to be a patch or something making the sunlight altar accessible early-mid game, the current way of doing things makes no sense. You have to kill an npc to access it early and then fight a boss that's supposed to be taken on much later. By the time you get access to GLS it's just not particularly great. It'd make sense to have an upgrade to LS earlier as well. If the altar had been in the high wall area only accessible after beating the cathedral of the deep and/or the catacombs it would've been better.

SOMEONE PLEASE EDIT THIS IN:

A glitch happens if the Host of Embers enters the arena while they are glitched (no animations), then invaders in the Warrior of Sunlight covenant don't get kicked out, and get rewards no matter how the match ends, if the boss dies they get souls as a friendly summon would, and if the host dies they get embered, an ember and a medal of sunlight. This usually happens when the connection is bad (causing the no animations glitch on the host), or when there's a random lag spike from a white or golden phantom entering the world.

Love this covenant, I just place my summon sign down near the stairs by the PvP arena to be apart of ganks with hosts, mostly we get around several hundred thousand souls, and get to spank about 7-9 Rosaria or Aldrich Invaders before me or the host dying, don't feel one bit sorry.

Quite an imbalance this time around. If you're running a faith build, you have 3 covenants you need to join and rank up in to get all the miracles. If you aren't running a faith build, you have zero incentive to join these covenants since you get nothing out of them.

I've found that the Knights running around in Lothric Castle will drop these - I start at the bonfire after beating the Dancer and do a straight run through to the next bonfire, using full collection gear (Crystal Rapier, Symbol of Avarice, Covetous Gold Serpent Ring and the occasional Rusted Coin) - excellent place to rack up Souls and equipment the Knights drop for extra currency. Even with the full set of collection gear the Sunlight Medals don't drop all that often, though, so be ready for a bit of a grind. ;)

You shouldn't let them get sunlight medals for invasions. This is against the original doctrine of this covenant. Sunbros should only be a PVE Co-op focused covenant. I mean getting medals for co-op with bosses is already easy enough ( the only covenant reward that can be acquired through PVE regularly) There shouldn't be another way for them to get any.
Yes you can invade with sunbro but you will only get souls and ember nothing else.
It's really unfair considering how tedious to get the reward for other covenants ( especially Blades )

If you are invading with the covenant equipped, can enemies attack you? I'm not sure if it was a glitch, but I was invading in the Catacombs of Carthus and got wrecked by one of the large skeletons because I wasn't expecting him to attack me. What's the deal here?
