The White Birch Bow is a Weapon in Dark Souls 3. It is part of The Ringed City.
A short bow crafted with white birch. Endowed with light-manipulating magic.
The bow is a relic from an ancient land of sorceries that was swallowed by the Abyss, most known for its folktale of the heroic Abysswalker.
Skill: Unseen Arrow
Arrows shot by large pulls of the bow are enchanted with a golden spell that turns them nearly invisible.
Notes and Tips:
- Cannot be Buffed or Infused.
- Reinforced with Twinkling Titanite.
- With a range value of 49, it outranges the Short Bow.
- Capable of quickly attacking while running or rolling like the Short Bow and Composite Bow.
- With a Dexterity requirement of 20, it has the highest DEX requirement of all bows.
Location/Where to Find
- The Ringed City: From the Ringed City Streets bonfire, head into the swamp and go straight to the back left corner. There are some monk hollows up on a hill here guarding a corpse. It is on the corpse.
Trivia:
- This bow appears to be a nod to the White Bow in Demon's Souls, as it shares a similar appearance and name.
- The description of the bow previously read: "This bow is a relic from the land of an old sorcerer who was swallowed by the Abyss, and known for his role in the heroic tale of the Abysswalker." This was later changed.
- The bow's icon shares the same icon as the Dancer's Short Bow, an unused bow weapon that might've been transposed from the Soul of the Dancer.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".

Oh wow, it makes the arrow invisible. It's not like the enemies already aggro on you by non damaging proyectiles like rapport. And in pvp you can tell right away by the direction your character beds and your blood splatters. Really, it's a useless wa.

"This appears to be a nod" well, that's the entirety of ds3. Everything is just something that already existed before...

I feel like this bow should have scaled with faith. It just seems right for a bow with this name. It's "endowed with light manipulating magic" but mages don't need ranged attacks. Faith builds DO, because miracles aren't really ideal for ranged combat imo (despite that being the point of lightning spear miracles).

Sniping is done with a greatbow. You want to use this? Get naked. Flynn's and leo rings. Whenever your opponent attacks, roll out and roll attack. Instant punishment. People who don't know how to play around it will get frustrated and lose easily. People who do know... will equip a shield.

Honestly pretty fun to use in invasions. Sniping people with invisible arrows while wearing the invisible ring. It's fun to watch hosts and phantoms run in confusion trying to figure out why they are taking damage for no apparent reason.

Only Ringed City weapon that isn't the slightest bit op. Thanks for nothing Fromsoft! :(((

White birch bow: i can make an arrow disappear!
Also white birch bow: "Misses every shot"
Srsly, homing arrows would be a better wa. Or lore-wise, it could deflect spells while preparing the shot with a lingering twisted wall of light. Almost every other bow (and any crossbow!) Surpass it in terms of utility.

Yeah uh no, regular actually does 82.1329281 damage, not 82 exactly.
- Anonymous
Invisible arrows sounded cool at first but then I realized they can see me pulling the bow back.
- Anonymous
thank god it'a arrows are invisible so I can snipe people with my 49 range bow

Just to be clear, this bow is going to be niche. The only builds it really works on is DEX/FTH or DEX/LCK. At base STR, this is the strongest shortbow at 40 DEX. Composite doesn't catch up until STR 25+. It is weaker then all the longbows though, but barely (>10 AR). It has longbow range and longbow WA, but shortbow's speed and movement making it a perfect hybrid. Dragonrider Bow really is the only other option on a DEX build since that bow is always the strongest as long as you have the stats to use it.

Kinda annoyed no one has ever mentioned this. The weapon art increases damage similar to Puncture. It's a significant increase, somewhere around 20%.
- Anonymous
White birch bow, 60 dex, 9 str has 231 AR Composite bow, 40/40 build has 254 AR Compositw bow deals abou 10% more dmg.

This looks great for my Gandalf cosplay. Yeah he didn't use a bow I know, but he didn't use Estus flasks or Crystal Soul Spear either so it's safe to say that it's going to be cannon divergent.
- Anonymous
I use this on my Shadow Thief build, Obscuring ring + Slumbering Ring + Milkring + Hawk Ring, with WA sometimes people just stare right in my direction trying to figure where arrows are coming from, but as arrows are invisible its imposible, good times.
- Anonymous
The Darkmoon Longbow should've performed rolling/running attacks as this one does. Such a wasted opportunity.
- Anonymous
Has anybody tested this with obscuring ring? Can the WA's arrows be seen being nocked like other arrows? Thinking of slapping those two things on when I get invaded. Or ganked ;)

"When in New Londo, Artorias discovered the ability of abysswalking, earning him his title, Artorias the Abysswalker, and allowed him to enter The Abyss, the home of the Darkwraiths and the Four Kings themselves."
Except, y'know, the fact he's literally called Artorias the Abysswalker.
- Anonymous
Artorias never was the Abysswalker, only the undead from Dark Souls 1 that slayed Artorias and Manus.
- Anonymous
anyone notice that it's a reference to one of the weapons in demon souls
- Anonymous
Ignoring Composite bow, How does this compare to the normal Shortbow in a High Dex, low Str build? Is the unseen arrow any good when compared to rapid fire?
- Anonymous
I think the description is trying to point out that Oolacile was swallowed by the Abyss, and that the Abyss, was most know for it's folktale of the heroic Abysswalker (aka Artorias).
- Anonymous
After playing around with the bow it seems to stay in the WA as long as the button is held down. Make the arrows do more damage. Not sure if it's just me or what, but it seems to fire just a little bit faster when it does as well. Can anyone take a look into this?
- Anonymous
Mine wasn't in the game does anyone know why? And is there a questline to get it?

This bow has an interesting interaction with dark arrows when using its weapon art. The arrows can curve sharply. I haven't figured out exactly how this works yet. Working on it.
- Anonymous
How good is Unseen Arrow ? Does it add something else than turning the arrow invisible ?
Will it be good in PvP ?
- Anonymous
Fun fact originally this weapon was gonna be in the base game as on of the weapons you could get from the dancers soul, but then it was changed to soothing light miracle

A very neat little thing to point out is the weight of this shortbow, which is zero. Just a bit of food for thought when managing your load percentage.
- Anonymous
A perfect weapon for all the little birches who use poison arrows instead of stabbing people like you're supposed to :P
- Anonymous
For a moment i thought this was a Demon´s Souls reference, but then i thought of princess whatever from Oolacile, you know, the sorcerer swallowed by the abyss that you go rescue, but as far as i remember, while beating Manus into a bloody stain, no bows where involved.... and its certainly not Hawkeyes´ greatbow.... clear this one upw Vaatividya !
- Anonymous
"Known for his role in the heroic fate of the Abysswalker"
Is this a cheeky reference to everyone who bow-cheesed Manus?
This was not later changed, it still reads that way in the description. Dont ****ing lie just because youre bored.
