White Sign Soapstone is a Multiplayer Item in Dark Souls 3.

White Sign Soapstone

Online play item.
Create a co-op summon sign.

Be summoned to another world as a phantom through your sign, and defeat the area boss to gain the strength of flame.

The nature of Lothric is murky, unclear.
The White Sign Soapstone allows Unkindled to assist one another.

White Sign Soapstone Usage

  • Use a White Sign Soapstone to cast a soul sign, and that sign will be sent to other players' worlds. If you're summoned from the sign, you'll be transported to the summoner's world. Soul signs can be cast by anyone, whether living or undead, but you must have the power of the Lord of Cinder to summon other players.
  • Use this item to have players summon you to their world to defeat a boss and restore your ember form. If you are in a covenant you may receive other rewards. To play or trade with a friend you will need this soapstone and a password. To enter a password go to system, then network and edit in a password. The password is caps sensitive.

White Sign Soapstone Locations

  • The Soapstone can be purchased at the Firelink Shrine from the Shrine Handmaid for 500 souls.

Notes

  • Bosses only give 1/4 of the main souls as Phantom.
  • You will be summoned as white Phantom. If you are in the "warriors of the sunlight" covenant you will have a golden phantom.
  • In order for a host to summon another player into their world, they must first have consumed an Ember.

I guess this item will gather dust in my inventory. I prefeer to be summoned in ds1, dd2 and bloodborne, but the hosts already has an absurd amount of advantages here.

Basically i' m not helping the host to progress, im just doinh his job on his behalf. Whenever i' m gone after completing my task, he will still be a newbie.

if another player that is lower level than me tries to summon me, will i get cut down to their level? if yes, then do i get back to my own level upon returning to my own "dimension"?

Bosses get 1.5x HP with 1 Phantom, and 50% increased aux resistances.
They get 2x HP for 2 phantoms, 10% increased damage, and 100% increased aux resistances.
They get 2.3x HP for 3 phantoms, 15% increased damage, and 150% increased aux resistances.

Other enemies get smaller bonuses. These bonuses are mutually exclusive and don't stack.

The only honest way to use this item is to be summoned as a mad spirit. Kill all the mobs in the map and then challenge the host to see if he deserves to progress (always carry force in case the host summons phantoms)

So, I was not connected to WiFi when I defeated the twin princes resulting in me not gaining the achievement. If I defeat the boss when summoned by a white soapstone will I get the achievement then? I know it’s kind of a strange question.

Is there a reason why i have to use a dried finger to see a second white sign in an area? It says the max white phantoms possible is 3, but i only seem to be able to get one, then use a dried finger to be able to get a second. Before i summon the first one i can see like 8 other signs on the ground so i know it isnt just a dead area. Anyone else have this issue?

If you like CO-OP to flight bosses, then you can try the following meta level: 1) Level 68-72: Aldrich, Dancer and Sister Friede. Weapon level +8, special weapon +4, don't over upgrade your weapon to max. 2) Level 95-103: Twin Princes, Soul of Cinder, Nameless King, Demon Prince, Midir and Gale 3) Level 103+: Demon Prince, Midir and Gale

Secondary function for the soapstone: early invasion warning system. If there's an incoming invasion attempt, the soapstone will turn gray like in other cases when it's not available but it happens far before you get the notification that you have been invaded. I'm fairly certain that this happens even when the invasion connection fails for one reason or another which makes keeping an eye on the soapstone sometimes interesting in places like the Aldrich Faithful area. If you see the soapstone turn gray and then pop back unrelated to your location then it probably means an invasion failed. On the other hand, if you're in an invasion queue yourself, the soapstone turning gray may also indicate you're about to try an invasion yourself.

It would be nice to add "Summoner's area Boss must be alive to be able to summon via white signs"
Because we struggled A LOT with a firend before we realised that. And in some area (like smouldgering lake) you can rush the boss quite quickly then explore later (if you have little playtime for example)
