Sharpen is a Skill in Dark Souls 3.

Notes & Information
- Lasts 25 seconds.
- Great Machete:
- Increases AR by 10%.
- Butcher Knife:
- Increases AR by 5%.
- Increases the HP gained from each hit. HP regain scales with max HP. Being embered counts. See table and graph below.
- Reinforcing the weapon does not increase the HP gained from each hit.
- Hitting an enemy during its death animation will regain HP.
- Two-handling weapon does not increase HP regain.

I succesfully edited my discovery! Feel free to edit layout and proofread it since I'm inexperienced and not a native speaker.
I am amazed how we discover new things about this game, even 5 years after its release :D
It appears through testing that it scales with max HP (ember does counts):
Max HP = 300
Light attack: +14HP
Heavy attack: +18HP
Charged Heavy Attack: +24HP
Max HP = 2121
Light Attack: +34HP
Heavy Attack: +47HP
Charged Heavy Attack: +62HP
Cannot edit the page with every data I got between these two values, sadly.

Current info is either wrong or outdated. Sharpen adds flat +20 HP per hit for Butcher Knife for the following restored: light attack 22 HP, strong attack 30 HP, charged strong attack 39.

The skill (sharpen) costs 20 to use (tested with great machete

Are you still able to use the Sharpen weapon skill when your Great Machete has been infused with, say, a Crystal Gem?

I think Sharpen is just a damage increase, but provides the Butcher's knife with the additional effect of increased HP absorbtion. It's a bit lack-luster(despite its visual indicator) compared to Warcry. It provides no additional/unique moves.
I think i'm gonna make a build using both the knife and machete, they look well together
