f\x=0.005x^4+1.02x^3+52.8x^3-895x is the total number of souls from 0 to whatever, x is the level. If youre level 30 for example and you wanna know how many souls to level 69, do f\69 - f\30 and that number is how many souls u need to go to 69 from 30.

According to the formula, the amount of souls needed for level 130 is 0.02*130^3+3.06*130^2+105.6*130-895, which is 108487, but the actual number is 108486.
Why is there sometimes an error of plus or minus 1?

after level 12, the amount of souls needed to level up can be expressed as y ≈ 0.02x³ + 3.06x² + 105.6x - 895, where y is the number of souls needed and x is the desired level. For levels 2-12, it's about a 2.5% increase per level from the previous level starting with 673 souls for level 2.

The percentage increase in level is actually an average of 2.3262 % but only until level 13, at which point the percentage jumps to about 22%, and then receives diminishing returns, i.e. level 14 is a 19% increase in souls etc. etc. It is not a linear diminishing returns, but rather logarithmic, as if you were to allow this sequence to run ad infinitum, it would approach about 5% soul increase (but never actually reach exactly 5).

I wonder how many souls are required in total to get to max level, because the souls system in dark souls is, in my opinion at least, more confusing than even an exponential leveling system.

I’ve heard somebody on ps4 playing 700 hour in a single character, grinding to play through 112 aka ng111 and reaching the maximum level.

If you think about it, THIS is basically the difficulty level that game journalists have been crying for. If you want it easy, then fine. Just grind like Hell until you can become overpowered, then maybe look around for better gear and it'll be easier. If you still can't do it, summon friends as white phantoms. If, somehow, you still can't beat the game, turn it off and go play a walking simulator.

so is this similar to soul memory in DS2? Like if I have a lot of souls in my possession do they count against my ability to be summoned or do they only count once i use them to level up because in DS2 they added in a ring that absorbed souls so that your soul memory would stay down to make pvp easier.

I’m doing a sl50 pure faith build (ChaseTheBro’s top 3 invasion builds). I have the exact same stats as him yet his stats says he has 15 more faith (I have 25 he has 40). Is there any explanation for this? He also doesn’t have the faith ring

i'm level 27 was just starting a fresh game, I went back to high wall of lothric in the beginning, started invading and found two guys trading, I picked some of their items and I got 99 souls of a great champion, 94 souls of a champion and a few trinkets. So I found approx 7,5 million souls in the beginniing. I wonder if they used a cheat to get that many souls must have taken forever to farm otherwise..?

I am on my way to lvl 802. Currently I'm on my 75th play through. Takes about 4 play throughs before I accumulate enough exp to go up a level, but will take 5 by the time I reach lvl 802. I get about 2 million per run, that includes the soul gems I pick up (1,500,000 exp for killing only what's required to finish the play through +450,000 exp from boss souls gems and soul gems I pick up). I don't use any +exp equipment. I'll be done by my 89th play through. Eventually the amount of exp you need to go up a level increases faster than you can get exp from completing games. Yoel is the only way to go up. Let's say you have 6 mill saved, you gain 2 million, but need 20 million. You get 5 levels from yoel and now you need 25 million. Getting 2 million from this cycle will not keep up. It's like trying to fly across the universe when it's expanding at a higher acceleration than your ship.

How many soils does it take in total to get to level 297? I'm making a build with 99 strength, 99 endurance, and 99 vigor.

Reaching max soul level is meaningless when you stop to think about it.

Not only do you need billions upon billions of souls, but the increase in stats from atributes like vigor after 50 and endurance after 40 is downright pathetic (between those values and 99, endurance only gives you around 10 points of stamina and health only 100).

Having a solid 50 on strength, dexterity, intelligence and faith let's you use any weapon you want. If you don't mind failing Siris's quest or waiting until it's done, you can always go to Rosaria and ask give her a pale tongue to re-arrange your stats too. Pretty much the only stat really woth leveling to max is vitality, since the increase in stats is always steady and you can pretty much turn into a walking armory.

My character has now level 332. And for level 333, I require 1'112'110 souls. Considering the required souls for the levels before, I tried to find the pattern of the calculation. But it looks like, this pattern changes from time to time, and normally to the bad. So, using the pattern that was quite reasonable for the last 20 Levels (always +/- 60 souls), I still need AT LEAST 2.4 billion (!) souls to reach level 802, unless there is no upper limit or the patterns start changing to the good.

Under this circumstances, I guess with the time, the fastest way to level up, is speed running through the NG+ games and use the Yoel resp. the dark sigils to level up. Im now in NG+4 and if I start with this strategy now, I will end up in NG+98. ... Damn!

Sl 120 v 40 att 10 vit 20 stam 30 str 66 Dex 10 fth 10 int 10 luck 13 This build gives u 99 strength 2 handing and access to farthest buff Pyro and chaos orb, pairing with a decent ring or prison chain gives u extra 3-15 levels or access to more quality/-Dex weapons. Build also allows for fairly heavy equipment loads and hp/stamina regeneration stacking. Highly recommend very versatile (note - deprived class needed forfor such stats)

For example, if you are level 100 and you want to know the souls you need to reach next level, the formula will be: y=0.02(100+1)^3+3.06(100+1)^2+105.6(100+1)-895. After basic algebra, the answer is y=61,591.68 but you will only take the absolut value, so you need 61,591 souls to reach level 101.Just copy the next "code", open a new Excel file, place yourself at the cell "B1" and paste it. It will pop up a negative value but it's ok. Now you want to write your current level at cell "A1". Some people considered some values wrong but they should be aware that you can get 5 free levels from hollowing and these will make changes to the souls needed for every lvl what you need at lvl 11 is now what you need at lvl16 due to hollowing lvl

It's not correct any more, it showed souls from level x to y for given x before. Level 1 is missing now and level 184 still shows souls needed from 184 to 185.
