Demon's Scar is a Weapon in Dark Souls 3. It is part of The Ringed City.



This chaotic thing, the last flame kindled by a demon prince, is shaped like the claw marks of a demon.

It is both a fiery bladed weapon, and pyromancy flame.

Skill: Spin Slash
Spin to stoke a fierce chaos flame, and use momentum to transition into a spinning strong attack, creating an evanescent lava chamber.

 

Notes and Tips:

  • Cannot be Infused or Buffed.
  • Reinforced with Titanite Scale.
  • The weapon doubles as a Pyromancy Flame, so it does not have any heavy attacks.
  • When wielded in offhand, the L1 will not block, but perform a light attack.
  • Pyromancies cast with this weapon will scale with Dexterity in addition to Intelligence and Faith.
  • At 20 Dex, 40 Int, 40 Faith, it has an AR of 350 and a spell buff of 190.
  • Has no Strength scaling and no physical damage, so it is not hindered by split damage and two handing the weapon will not give any significant AR bonus.
  • Since it doesn't do physical damage, Flynn's Ring has no effect on it.
  • It is the lightest Curved Sword in the game.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X". 
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped. 
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has: Regular(R), Thrust(T), Slash(Sl), Strike(St)

      Having 40 int/40 faith/45 dex this thing does 30 to 40 less damage compared to a normal Pyromancy Flame. Totally worth the slot, I simply don't use normal PF anymore.

        If you cast warmth with it it makes a loud growl
        And if u cast boulder heave your head glows blue

        What's going on! I tested all pryomancies and those two are different. I didn't test damage but maybe it could be higher
        Like a demon casting demon spells or spmething

          so, can this be used offhand to cast pyromancies? is it even worth doing? (I can't afford the DLC yet and am just wondering how much i'm screwed by not having access to all these new weapons)

            I love this thing to death, at +2 I can 1 shot stagger the Dog/Crocodile/Monster on the bridge to Irithyll then get a critical and effectively 2 shot the beast without even doing the cheese(thanks to the stagger). Did I mention I'm on NG+7?

              you say "At 20 Dex, 40 Int, 40 Faith, it has an AR of 350 and a spell buff of 190." but I have 40 dex 40 int and 40 faith but it still have 190 spellbuff and only 11 more AR, the dex scaling is Nonexistent

                  This can stunlock into a black flame cast for ridiculous damage. I got invaded by one guy using that combo, he took my summon, a blue sentinel and myself down using nothing but that.

                    I'm upset. This may sound like someone ranting about a loss because it is but I was in a fight club with my pyromancer. I use the demon scar as a weapon and I'm ready to fight. This guy had his weapon buffed ever since I got into the world so that seemed sketchy. But I go to fight, the guy doesn't gesture but instead puts on the flame stoneplate ring and then fights me. I do no damage before I realized that he's using that ring. To be honest, it's kind of cheating to put on a ring that makes it so they do no damage to you but you do too much damage to them. A permanently buffed weapon doesn't help at all. But if you aren't confident enough to fight without the advantage you already lost weather you kill them or not. I've seen people putting on rings, using red bug pellets and doing anything they can to win because this weapon does only fire damage and that makes it nonviable in pvp. It's only useful against people who don't increase their fire defense just to win. If they are going to buff or nurf anything from the dlc at least make it so the demon scar isn't affected by the flame stoneplate ring or red bug pellets. It's a pve weapon otherwise.

                      If you cast Boulder Heave with it, a blue flash appears on your head for a brief time.
                      i couldn't do further testing on whether or not it does something so I don't know what it does or what it is good for.

                        the weapon is unparriable i tried to parry it and... didnt work... ill go into further testing with my friend about this doe. maybe im wrong.

                        im actually a pyromancer and i got this to +5 and i used it off-hand with an onyx blade on main-hand and its pretty freaking good cuz ur enemy would VERY confused if u do it non range then onyx combo then.... u know.

                          For anyone who worried about the Dex of this weapon, 40 dex = sage ring+2. So normally soccers or Pyromancers don't have that much dex but with this weapon u can change ur sage ring to another ring if u have 40 dex

                            only weapon in the game with 0 physical attack like the other pyromancy flames.
                            this weapon does very reduced damage against the old demon king, demon prince, and the soul of cinder.

                              Black Flame directly buffers into either two handed R1 spam, or the Weapon Art, like a combo.

                              I think this thing could actually be quite a game changer for caster builds.

                                40int / 40fth / 16dex 190 spell buff. Using no rings, boulder heave did 477 damage to a slug man.
                                40int / 40fth / 60dex 190 spell buff. Using no rings, boulder heave did 477 damage again.
                                Suspected maybe the scaling was hidden beyond the spell buff listed, crystal chime is similar (Most obvious test is healing miracles ignoring the int part of the chime) but it appears dex has no part in the Demon's Scar's spell buff, you can even fail the dex requirement and it stays at 190 spell buff.
