Rose of Ariandel is a Weapon in Dark Souls 3.

A flail used by the bulbous Father of the Painted World to shred his own skin, producing blood to appease the flame. Both a weapon and a miracle catalyst.

Ariandel, being the restorer of the Painted World, knew that it was painted with blood, and only blood could protect the secret.

Skill: Awakening

Violently flail oneself to trigger an awakening that temporarily boosts the strength of miracles, just as the good Father used the rose himself.

Notes and Tips:

  • Not Buffable nor Infusable.
  • Upgrades with Titanite Scales.
  • Casts Miracles on strong attack.
  • Faith scaling softcaps at 40 for casting and physical damage.
  • At 40 Faith, the total Spellbuff is 189.
  • Despite being classified as a whip weapon, it has the moveset of a small club; however, it cannot backstab or riposte just like the other whips. It has no strong attacks, but can still do a jump attack.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X". 
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped. 
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has: Regular(R), Thrust(T), Slash(Sl), Strike(St)

        Enables a Bleed Priest quite well; this and Dhory's Gnawing ensures that the pressure is constantly on with bleed being constantly applied. Quite good if you want to roleplay the Inqusition as well. NOBODY EXPECTS THE CARIM INQUISITION!

          Good roll catcher, and ok damage if you're running a STR/FAI build.

          Using a specialized dragon build and damage gouging strategies, I managed to get this thing boosted to the point where it could do 350+ or even 400 damage in a single R1! But you were quite squishy too.

            Surprisingly, at 40 faith, this is the best catalyst for casting lightning miracles in terms of damage (even without its built-in buff) beaten only by the crystal chime at 40 int as well as faith. don't be as quick to disregard this as a joke weapon as i was

              This weapon actually does have a jumping R2, so it does bear a strong attack. Just use the method to pull a jumping attack off from a standing start. The running R2 version triggers a cast instead.

                How can From even have this in the game? I'm so *****ing APPALLED at all the sexual and religious references in this weapon. 17 Faith requirement to weild? The *****, From? You trying to tell me I need to be the Pope to use this weapon? Cause I'll have you know I've been going to a CHRISTIAN CHURCH since I was six years old(the Eastern Star Church off of 30th street in Indianapolis), and I have never felt so emotionally abused in my LIFE. The weapon art of this weapon just triggers me completely. You LITERALLY whip yourself.. Uhh, stealing from Jesus on the crucifix much??? You're lucky I don't call the Apostolic Palace and have you sued by the POPE HIMSELF. You guys are literally Satan, and should be ashamed of yourself.

                  This is far better as a tool than a weapon in my opinion. Do the self-buff, equip a better casting implement, enjoy increased damage on miracles. I used it to great effect for grinding out sunlight medals with my faith build. Not only can you cast with another implement and keep the bonus, you can unequip it altogether and still keep it.

                    Absolutely destroying people with this beast, fast club moveset with way longer range, 2 r1 combo plus surprise lightning stake, followed by another r1 deals over 1200 dmg

                      So far I can confirm that at least running attacks can be parried despite this being a whip. Normal r1s cannot be parried maybe probably, eeeeh. I need to test it with somebody. But anyway as a fellow filthy cleric I enjoy this weapon so far.

                        AR scales with Faith, just like the Blessed infusion. Going up to 40 Strength does more for the AR than going over 40 Faith, and all things considered the spellbuff is pretty high at 40 Faith. I wouldn't necessarily call it a good catalyst, but a build that stops at 40 Faith isn't losing much by using it, except for the fact that it doesn't have Unfaltering Prayer.

                        It isn't really a great weapon though, because in the end it's still just a whip. The range is a lot longer than clubs, but that's its only good point.
