With how big this thing is and how slow and tanky Nameless King's moveset is, I was really hoping for this weapon to be more STR based :(

So I did some testing with Weapon Art Damage, here are the numbers:
12+5 (Knights Ring) str, 40 dex, 20 faith, tested on 2 lizards near Great Belfry Bonfire
1)Raw damage from WA with presented stats- 791
        2)with Lighting Clutch Ring - 910
        3)with Lloyrd Sword Ring - 887
        4)with 2+3 - 1020
5)adding Deep Protection on top of two rings - 1070
        6)taking off Knights Ring - 1062
7)with Priest ring and 2+3 and Knights Ring - 1087
        8)finally 2+3 +Priest Ring +Deep Protection - 1142
9)Also Lighting Clutch and Red Tearstone when <20% HP - 1092
So adding 5 Faith adds roughly 67 damage for WA, I dont know if numbers vary when it goes higher, but assuming they are the same, adding 20 faith gets you 268 damage boost for WA, which is based on point number 4 (1020 damage) is around 25% increase which is not bad. Lighting damage from weapon itself scales very bad with Faith though.
For even more Min\Maxing you can probably try Morion Blade+Red Tearstone+Lighting Clutch+40 Faith+Deep Protection+Sacred Oath and Power Withing which probably will increase the damage output of WA assuming DP does and try some funny things on King of Storm and Oceiros.
Will be great if somebody can confirm SO and PW increasing WA damage.
MORNE RING AND RING OF SUN FIRSTBORN DO NOT INCREASE WA DAMAGE. FLYNN RING DOESNT INCREASE WA AND IS VERY POOR IN INCREASE WEAPONS DAMAGE DUE TO ITS HIGH WEIGHT.

Is it any better now for a faith build after scaling buff?I have tried it before they buffed magic scaling and it was pretty underwhelming.

              Weapon art damage.

Does anyone have the damage this weapon art does to the Firekeeper at 18 Fth and 40 Faith?

is it viable to make a faith/dex build just for this weapons (by that i mean just upgrading faith for damage and not the use miracle) ???

I just find how the character holds the swordspear a bit stupid like come on hold it more near blade not at the end where it is in no way able to use like that

So I ran a comparison between this and the Dragonslayer Spear and this one actually comes up with a lower AR though they shared scaling softcaps. Dex and Str at 40 (430 Physical), Fth at 35 (85 Lightning). Just like the DsS, the faith scaling actually accounts for a minimal amount of the damage and most of the lightning damage is innate. DsS AR at softcap: 538, DsSS AR at softcap: 515. I guess it really comes down to which moveset you prefer. Hope this helps people understand scaling for this weapon.

How good is this spear now? I saw some other people saying that despite the HA nerf on this thing, it's still very powerful and remains widely used, so I am wondering whether or not I should make a build for this.

I'm aware this thing is technically a spear, but considering part of it's moveset is that of halberds, does it suffer the damage penalty halberds get if you hit with anything but the blade?

This weapon took a bit of an unfortunate hit with the poise adjustment, since as noted you need at least 42 poise to hyper armor through even a curved sword R1 which makes trading, something this weapon was particularly good at, a bit harder. Otherwise though it's still really good I mean, its a pokey pokey weapon with a buff.

Are you kidding me from. You need around 42 poise to hyper armor through curve swords with this glaive. A god damn curved sword.

Which stat should I pay more attention to for this weapon Dex or faith I would like more lighting damage but does Increasing my faith not bring up the lightning damage up to much for a good difference? I have this weapon and I have 40 Dex and only 18 faith and 20 strength

With 27 38 30 str dex faith, two handed it has 507 AR without WA buff, with weapon art buff, it has 587 AR. Combined with the fact that it has the best moves from the halberds and spears, makes it a incredibly good weapon imo
