This is basically the non-elite Astora knight armor. As the helmet is the same except the visor is open, and the gloves are exactly the same. (Not stat wise, there’s a reason the elite knight armor is elite.)
Besides weight, the elite armor is basically an upgrade. Not a 100% one, but almost.

Wondering if the story of the Nameless Knight led him to becoming the Nameless King. Which would be seriously awesome, and also indicating that the person who wore the armor of the Knight was actually one of Gwyn's firstborn.

I'd like to think that instead of it just being the starting knight set from ds1, that this was one of the few elite knights that survived the timeline but was cornered in the swamp (since its in a corner where you find it) and died to the poison. I know this is just the knight set but it'd be cool if it was like Oscars or Richards, since he doesn't have his armor in archdragon peak

In the comment below i forgot to mention that the slight differences between the elite and nameless knight gauntlets and leggings are that the gauntlets on the elite vers is slightly wider and shorter. As for the elite knight leggings, instead of the chain and scale skirt being a part of the chestpiece it is instead part of the leggings. So if you wear the nameless knight chestpiece with the elite knight leggings you will have two chain and scale skirts. If you're not too bothered by these differences then you probably won't notice them. Just enjoy the extra defence and steel.

Swap the helmet for the elite version (and the gauntlets and leggings if you don't mind the small differences) and what you have there is one of my favorite armor sets in all of Souls. Personally for the other equipment i like to use the Zweihander and Heavy Crossbow/Arbalest in the right-hand, with the Silver Eagle Kite shield in the left. Love it as a set.

Why did they add this set (there are already so much helmets that look like this btw), which looks a lot like the new knight set, elite knight set, etc., but not the super cool Wanderer set from DS1? :(

I never really liked ds1 because of blocking taking place of rolling (Which was huge for me, because rolling did virtually nothing in ds1), but still cool looking set. Another added bonus is that you don't fat roll in it when you first find it :)

farron keep swamp.find the ladder that goes up to the watchdogs covenant guarded by 3 slugs, face opposite of the ladder, you'll see a stone wall in the distance. follow that wall to the right and it's tucked away in a corner.
