###################### ... NPC invaders not showing up? ... ######################
if you want to fix tthis issue, there is a valuabe and 100% working tip down below in the comments from 09 Jun 2021 02:41
But remember: Support the devs. Next time bring enough souls

I could have sworn there was an NPC invader in the profaned capital in that big empty stretch under the flame. am I crazy or is this mandela effect
Alva has an unnecessary extra column at the bottom there. Just put them together like how the other characters are.

Unironically Fume Ultra Greatsword is one of the best weapons to kill NPCs with through the fully charged heavy 2-handed attack stun which you can just infinitely chain until they're dead. I apparently can't let them stand up anymore. You want to kill Hodrick on NG+7? Literally just stun-lock him into oblivion. Also, that 2-handed attack heavy attack does very high damage.

Why in the everlasting **** is Londor Pale Shade listed after Catacombs but spawns before them in Farron Keep.
- Anonymous
Heads up, sometimes Kirk's armor fails to appear at Rosaria's Chamber despite meeting all requirements. Not sure what fixes could solve this anyhow.
- Anonymous
If you aren’t being invaded even though you fulfill all the requirements, try going online. There is a bug where you won’t get invaded if you’re offline, even if it should be possible. I was unable to get Creighton to invade, but when I switched to online, he invaded immediately. Tested with Ava as well, and the bug worked exactly the same, no invasion if offline, invaded when online.

how to i stop other players from pulling me out of story mode and into their game
the loading screen and other time wasted are very irritating and unnecessary for regular humans

Out of curiosity and want for the solaire gear can you get a seed from fighting these invaders or only the pvp kind?

No NPC Is Invading Me. I've Searched For A Long Time But Couldn't Find A Solution. Only Holy Knight Hodrick Invade Me

I found a secret invasion while mapglitching called "draiden VI" while mapglitching i havent been able to find anything on them

For those with issues of not having npc's invade due to the requirement to be connected to steam (if you know, you know): open steam_emu.ini (may need a code editor like notepad++). Set offline to 0. Load game and let the game attempt to connect. If fails, just start the game in offline mode, npc's will spawn anyway. It seems the game code just needs to check if it attempted connection or not. Reports that it may brick your saves, I had no problem doing it when my char was in Farron Woods

For NPCs invasions you need
1. Steam ONLINE
2. Game ONLINE/OFFLINE doesnt matter
3. Embered
4. Boss Alive
5. The right trigger zone.
Hate that steam be ONLINE fact. Since patch 1.05. (Current 1.15)

Since the patch 1.05
You need "steam" to be online for the NpCs to invade except for hodrick. (The game can be played in offline mode but steam must be online)
Pisses me off..

Hi, I'm writing this because I'm a little confused on certain aspects, I don't know who to ask. This is my first walkthrough of DS3. So I got invaded by an NPC in the Kiln of the First Flame, some Lilian of Londor (I'm spanish, so I would assume it would be Lilliane). She wears Yuria's set and wields a katana and the dark hand. The thing is the katana at the very least has the weapon art of the Frayed blade, at least the strong attack one.
I haven't found info about her here.
So did you know about this? I would assume so, still... (Of course, do you know if you get equipment from defeating her?)
So my playthrough went like this. Got the game with the full dlcs, complete edition. Basically got teh dark sigils, and Yuria calls me Lord of Hollows, defeated Friede before Sulivahn so got to speak to her about it. Killed the pilgrim at Yorshka's church to save Anri and proceed with her questline to defeat Aldrich, then spoke to Yuria in Firelink, she breaks ties and she disappears from Firelink. Gave eyes to the Firekeeper, chose the great betrayal, all before putting the lords' cinders and then I'm at the Kiln. Haven't gotten to the Ringed city yet, it's what I'm gonna do before Soul fo Cinder. And this happens.
So anyone has a clue about this?
I feel like pale shade should be listed, especially with how many miss that invasion

Is it me or does nothing drones seem worth the fights............

I don't know about others, but with Ringed City + latest updates, I need to be Online to be invaded by NPC phantoms. The only NPC phantom that does invade offline anymore is Holy Knight Hodrick. He can also summoned as a mad dark spirit in Crucifixion Woods if I'm embered, but no other time do I get invaded even by NPC phantoms when playing offline.
- Anonymous
You can actually still fight Knight Slayer Storig after Wolnir. I did on my first play through. I'm pretty sure I missed him in the Catacombs (unless you can actually fight him twice and I just don't remember--I'm on NG+ right now, but not there yet, so I'll make sure to check). Either way, you get a chance to encounter him in the demon infested underground area in the Smouldering Lake. He's like right after the Basilisks on the way to the giant crossbow. Funnily enough, you can actually make him fight himself! I was able to summon him as a white phantom at the bonfire right before the old demon king. I just happened to be using him to make it easier to get to the crossbow, primarily for the basilisks who I HATE. And yeah, I got the notification that he was invading and I was like "wtf" and then sure enough there was his evil twin!
- Anonymous
You actually do not need to be online, you just have to be embered i believe
- Anonymous
No mention whatsoever that you must be in Online mode in order to be invaded by NPC invaders? Nice wiki ngl.

The ringed city invaders can be used to infinitely farm seeds of a giant tree because you don’t need to ember, just die by the fastest means possible and repeat.
- Anonymous
Will I only be invaded by NPC's if I am playing in online mode?
- Anonymous
The NPCs seem to be weaker than the NPCs in DS2. They often parry you easily if you attack indiscriminately.
- Anonymous
If you’re still about to start a first play through, knowbthat once you defeat the boss of an area, you’ll no longer be able to be invaded by NPC’s in that zone. Such as: killed Abyss Watchers? Well now you can’t get Henselt to invade until next playthrough.
- Anonymous
If I get invaded by a phantom and I die will they return if I keep going back to the same area?
- Anonymous
If I don't want to be invaded, I play offline, but I still get invaded. ***** you.

I was invaded by someone (Idk if its a npc i never saw it only the name) at the fire demon in catacombs his name was captain kalios or something Like that
Why are there no npc invasions in Lothric castle, Grand archives, oceiros garden, profaned capital and AnorLondo?
Wait it says tsorig can’t invade if you killed wolnir Yet don’t you have to kill wolnir to even get to Irithyll??
- Anonymous
If you kill an npc invader, are they still alive? (e.g. Hodrick) I want to know, since I killed the phantom before realizing who it was. (2:00 in the morning when it happened, don’t judge)
- Anonymous
Just to correct some misinformation I often see floating around:
You CAN be invaded by NPC phantoms while playing in offline mode. The only requirement is that you need to be connected to the internet.
Switching to offline mode doesn't actually take you offline, it only stops you from interacting with other players (summoning, invasions, messages). Your'e still connected to the Dark Souls 3 server (note the "Logging in to Dark Souls 3 server" message when starting up the game), which is a requisite for NPC phantom invasions. For what reason, I have no idea.
The only way to stop NPC phantoms completely is to stop the game from connecting to the servers. This can be done by blocking the game's internet access through your firewall, or simply disconnecting the PC from the internet entirely (unplug ethernet, turn off wi-fi, etc.).

This doesn't include Ornstein. I was invaded my him during my second playthrough on the High Wall on Lothric. I had reached the second bonfire on the tower where you face the first Lothric Knight, and had then come back to shoot arrows at the live dragon that landed on and was spewing fire from the previous tower. As soon as I went over to the gated/locked doorway under the dragon's tail, Ornstein invaded and came running up the adjacent stairs, welding his lightning dragon spear weapon.

worth nothing that red npc invasions don't work unless you're playing in online mode now

Note Worthy Question here; Does Way of Blue work against NPC invasions? i.e. Can Blue Phantoms be summoned against NPC invasions?
- Anonymous
Got Heysel's gear from the man grub in Rosaria's Bedchamber even though I missed the invade...what gives?
- Anonymous
Do NPC invaders respawn indefinitely after killing them so long as you haven't killed the boss of the area?
- Anonymous
Just very curious at something that just happen to me. I invaded some dude in the archives and for some reason I couldn't lock on! Only at really close ranges and he happened to have a fume ugs so he eventually pummeled me.
Is there any spell that could have limited my range? Or perhaps because we fought in the dark room after the first group of scholars?
Are invading NPCs immune to environmental effects? Just got caught by Heysel in the Farron Keep swamp and, despite her chilling in the muck for a good three minutes, didn't seem to be taking any poison damage.

To all my fellow pirates, if you want to fix the NPC invaders not showing up, locate the steam_emu file in your Dark Souls 3/Game folder and change Set Steam connection to offline mode from Offline=1 to Offline=0.

I have a question: when a invader falls down in a abyss, is it possible to get loot the invader normally would drop??

There was also a guy with the door shield in archdragon peak invading me. pretty troll npc invasion

I was invaded by a Darkspirit seilios in the Cathedral of the Deep in NG+.Cant find anything in the web about him.He was a *****ing Troll.

Is there an item that can cause a player to have some sort of wind effect? I got invaded at Archdragon Peak right before the Ancient Wyrnn fight. Had Host of Embers as a title, and was surrounded by high wind/ash. The Ashen Warrior I think they were called. Had a lot of health, flung sunlight or lightning spears at me or the ground, and used the Dragonslayer Greatspear as a weapon when I got him around half health. I beat him, but I definitely had a WTF moment when they started walking towards me after the invasion message popped up. Played like an NPC/Boss; didn't fish for backstabs or anything. I'm not complaining, it was definitely interesting and fun when my heart started calming down, I'm just curious if it's something that I could replicate for when a friend of mine starts playing Dark Souls 3 himself at a later date.

Hey there. A bit late but the person you two are talking about is me. Spirit/Soul of Fire is a custom miniboss that I have been working on. There isn't an invade message and as of recently there's no death one either. I play like an Npc intentionally.
My steam profile is Furrydog or Nameless King

For any1 wanting to kill the NPC's:
Use the spell that makes you invisible and the one that makes you silent. The NPC's can't do crap

I don't understand the color coding of invading player phantoms (as opposed to summoning phantoms on your own), as some are red and some are purple. I was wearing the slumbering dragoncrest ring and used the spook spell, had the PURPLE invading phantom (should be attacked by both me and environment) run through some tough enemies (phantom was clearly visible in environment); yet, the enemies did nothing to the invader. In fact, some of the environment's enemy's attacks went through the invader doing absolutely nothing.

has anyone ran into longfinger kirk or livid dunnel in NG+? if so can I get a loc plz?thnks

If you die during an NPC invasion is it possible to rematch or is it a one time deal per playthrough?

Livid Pyromancer Dunnel will invade even if the bosses in Ariandel are dead...

I'm played the whole game offline and i still get invaded by NPC's i just have to be kindled
- Anonymous
I got invaded and spent 40 minutes trying to find the b!tch before googling it. She had a great sword and staggered me even when she missed, which led to me falling off the edge... sh!t mechanics
- Anonymous
Way too easy with great weapons like Ultra Greatswords, Greathammers or Yhorms Machete. NPCs have no strategy for this kind of weapons and will constantly run into it.
- Anonymous
I have to disagree with the statements that you have to be online for the NPC invasions to occur.
I have been invaded by Yellowfinger (twice - Farron Keep and Road of Sacrifice/Crucifixion Forest), Kirk (Cathedral), Holy Knight Tsorig (Catacombs), and Creighton (Irithyll) while being in OFFLINE mode with Steam ONLINE. All in November 2016
- Anonymous
WARNING : Aside from Holy Knight Hodrick, you have to be online to be invaded by npc's , before the 1.05 patch this wasn't the case ... Oddly enough , if you are running steam version and you are online on steam and offline in the game, the npc's will invade as normal.
Thus the offline players are barred from certain items, feel free to rage at this stupid decision by the dev's ... the whole point of offline npc invasions was to give a taste of what pvp would be, now you're practically forced if you are a completionist.

I encountered him in the main plaza of the undead village. No idea how to make it happen again

It's listed that he only drops the Knight Slayer's Ring, but he drops the Black Iron Greatshield and Fume Ultra Greatsword too.

I have a few questions regarding NPC invaders. Will the hostile NPC invade again if they kill the player, is there any point (like a specific boss defeated or location accessed) in which the invaders will no longer invade, and is there a way I can trigger the invasion? I greatly appreciate all the help. Thank you.
- Anonymous
I was invading as a WOF and the dude was being invaded by an NPC, but the NPC agro to me as soon as I get there and RIP me
- Anonymous
I was invaded by holy knight and im not online. Also have the latest version
As of Regulations 1.09 (one of the hidden changes) you have to be in ONLINE mode to be invaded by NPC phantoms.
- Anonymous
For all the people wondering why youre not being invaded by certain NPCs, the answer is no one knows. The usual answer to your question is, are you embered? YES! I got flames flicking off my body. Have you beat the area boss? NO! Instead of just saying they dont know or dont reply at all for that matter, is much better than to answer a question by asking a dumb @ss question when the person asking a question already said they are embered and havent beat the boss yet. These Wiki are useful but not reliable take them with a grain of salt because they are user based.

I'm trying my best to not spam the boards, but there's this purple haired girl I'm trying to find. I battled her a few times and she summoned me once and each time I forgot to get her name and player ID. Like I said, she has purple hair, uses Dancer Blades and Armor, and uses LOTS of Pyromancies. If anybody knows who I'm talking about please let me know! I think in DS3, her name is prefaced by Crossbreed or something. Thanks for the info in advance, friends!

I killed the boss in the cathedral of the deep before i knew this. Does that mean i can't sommon Kirk?
- Anonymous
im not doing it and its happening to my 2 friends, we just invade other worlds for no reason. we aren't using the orbs and its just forcing us to invade people.

I just began a NG+ and once reaching the high wall of Lothric and opening the doors from the start, I was invaded by Knight Solaire. He praised the Sun, had a huge shield with his hand made sun art and used a massively long sword to attack me and a shorter straight sword when my health was low! I haven't seen anything else on it ! He killed me and hadn't shown up again yet :(.

I was invaded yesterday in Untended Graves by a NPC (I think) that I found absolutely no information on. I was playing with a friend using a Password, I was the Host. As we were walking up the hill (where the bonfire would be in the light version) I heard the sound of a invader spawning, but there was nothing that said a Player invaded, like what would happen when a NPC invades you. However, the normal Invader, Daughter of Crystal Kriemhild, was not there. Down from where she would spawn was a Invader named "Soul of Fire" he was a Host of Embers. He was wearing the Pyromancer's Set and he had a greatsword and a pyromancer's flame. He never ran or rolled, he walked everywhere. He had Pyromancy spells that do not exist in the game. I had Lightning Blade on my weapon and HE enchanted MY weapons with fire overriding my lightning blade. We did so little damage to him, my friend was using the Fume Ultra Greatsword was doing about 5% of his health pure swing. He had a spell that sounded like Farron Flashsword or the Farron Dart but it was a fire spell. He spammed the Warmth Spell everywhere. He had a Great Chaos Fire Orb that after it hit it seemed to do the Chaos Storm effect. He had a spell that made a line of fire from where he was to where I was. He also used Profaned Flame a few times. I think he also had a few other spells that literally do not exist in the game.It was absolutely crazy; it took awhile to kill him and he dropped no items and it said "Dark Spirit Vanquished" like normal. It was really strange, but was even more crazy was the fact that I have found absolutely zero information about this guy. So was he some new NPC, or a really good hacker that can create new spells in the game, a Dev that is testing out some things. After we defeated him we went back to the bonfire for my friend to be demised and re-summoned, I did not rest at the bonfire, and when we went back to the place the normal NPC Invader spawned. Has anyone else found this guy? Does anyone have any information about this guy?
- Anonymous
I am never invaded because most of the time i am not embered and i forget to fight them before boss fights.
- Anonymous
- Anonymous
There is an optional invasion by Hodrick in RoS. Its a White Mad Phantom sign and he will immediatly attack you if there is no one nearby to fight. This is missable because it disappears after you defeat Crtstak Sage, The thing is, you don't get anything from doing so and he is incredibly powerful. I guess this is for the OCD completionists.
- Anonymous
Will npc's cease to invade if you become hollowed? I noticed the markers on the ground no longer appear as well as summoning and invading npcs
--I remember playing that Lord of the Rings Game. Shadow of Mordar or something. Anyway, it had an enemy system, if you beat somebody, they had a chance to kome back and kome baq stronger at times. There armor, personality, abilities, etc wore all randomly generated. Having a system like that w/ DS3 would have been nice. As is, most of these are pre-set to happen.. long as you stay embered.. Stay Embered My Friends.
- Anonymous
Yeah, and its stupid if i would not be able to acquire thorns set because i was not in ember form before killing deacons...
- Anonymous
I don't think Miyazaki would make you fight these guys once, and if you lost, you can't have a rematch. The fact thet Yellowfinger's stuff appeared in Rosaria's room for me even when I lost to it makes me think they must all appear somewhere, or their stuff does.
- Anonymous
So,if i killed all the bosses but not all phantoms does it mean i cannot fight these phantoms any longer? or is there a way to do so?
If you summong Tsorig as a white phantom near the demon king bonfire and speed run through the dungeon where the actual Tsorig is then they will fight. Note that you have to stop in between enemies for Tsorig to catch up. Fun to watch
Cool little Easter Egg, Gutts will spawn at Lothric High Wall's second Bonfire, in New Game +2. He uses the Fume Knights Greatsword and everything, hahah.
Dark Spirit of Londor showed up on my first character but he didn`t on my 2nd one. Is his spawn tied to something?
- Anonymous
So that means Pate died and Creighton continued to murder across the lands.
- Anonymous
i beat Tsorig after defeating the Old Demon, he is the only one ive been able to get post boss though
- Anonymous
I've cleared out some of these areas unkindled so they didn't spawn for me, however i went back to try and fight them but they didn't spawn. Do they not spawn if you've already beaten the boss of the area?
Somehow Yellowfinger, Kirk and Knightslayer didn't show up in my game. The bosses were still alive too. Version 1.15.2
