Dragon Crest Shield is a Shield in Dark Souls 3.
A knight's shield engraved with a crest depicting a dragon.
One of the enchanted blue shields. The Dragon Crest Shield greatly reduces fire damage.
Skill: Parry
Repel an attack at the right time to follow up with a critical hit. Works while equipped in either hand.
Notes and Tips:
- Can NOT be Infused.
- Reinforced with Twinkling Titanite.
- Provides an average damage block of 70.4%. Has the highest fire damage block in the game. One of the crest Shields, each one specializes in a different niche.
Location/Where to Find
- Found in an area above the Old Wolf of Farron bonfire. From the bonfire, take the lift and take the stairs to the right. Then, go right along the railing and drop off onto a ledge, which will bring you to another area where the shield is found on a corpse.

Parameter Bonus: Strength, Dexterity,Magic, Fire, Lightning and Dark bonuses - The scaling multiplier applied to the [Attack: stat]. Scaling quality is from highest to lowest as follows: S/A/B/C/D/E.The higher the player's [Str, Dex, Mag, Fire, Light] stat, the higher the [Attack Bonus: Stat] is (found on the player status screen). The higher the scaling letter, the higher the percent multiplier applied to the [Attack: Stat].This resulting bonus damage is added to the base physical damage of the weapon and is shown in the equipment screen in blue numbers as a "+ X".
Durability: The weapon's HP, when the durability hits 0, the effectiveness of its attacks become weakened to the point of almost uselessness. When an items durability is low, a message will come up saying "Weapon At Risk!" at this point the weapon does not perform at it's best.
Weight: How much the item weights when equipped.
Stability: How well the player keeps stance after being hit
Attack Type: Defines what kind of swing set the weapon has: Regular(R), Thrust(T), Slash(Sl), Strike(St)

This shield, alongside it's DS1 counterpart, is a reference to the Kite Shield from Demon's Souls.

it temporarily blocks lava damage as well, but once that is used up it wont block lava dmg again until you rest at a bonfire

It does not have the highest fire damage block. Black Iron infused with a fire gem has 99.6%

Literally no point in upgrading shields in this game. Upgrades only grant increased atk but its not like youre ever gonna ATTACK with a shield.
The only other stat that gets increased is stability by an extra 7 at max rank.
At least in Dark Souls 2, you could upgrade shields and it would increase all the elemental block stats like fire, lighting, dark etc.
