Light Crossbow is a Weapon in Dark Souls 3.
Standard crossbow wielded by common soldiers. Must be readied before firing.
Bolts must be equipped in order to use crossbows. Up to two kinds of bolt can be equipped at a time, and these can be switched between as necessary.
Skill: Tackle
Lunge into a shoulder tackle, pushing back enemies to create distance.
Notes and Tips:
- Cannot be Infused or Buffed.
- Reinforced with Titanite.
- Essentially an early-game weapon for those with low stats. It's best quality is it's low weight, but is less efficient than other crossbows found later in the game as a result.
Location/Where to Find
- Dropped by the Undeads with Crossbows at the High Wall of Lothric.
- Sold by Greirat of the Undead Settlement

Okay but I think we can all agree that this is the Ol' Reliable of the crossbow class

The heavy crossbow is almost a direct upgrade to this as far as I can tell, but the light crossbow has the following 1ups on it"
-lighter
-less stamina(very slight difference)
-sl1 weapon with no pillar ring needed
-easier to grind out
If you're willing to do so, take the heavy crossbow- but otherwise, this will dutifully serve you almost as well, and is not a weapon to be tossed in the bin just because something else exists that does a little more damage.

When you know how to secure shot in PvP, using this almost feels dirty. VS opponents with the heaviest armors, the worst it can do is 80~ish damage which is still helpful. The most damage I've dealt recently was 334 on a guy casting Black Serpent. Granted his cast animation made it easy to line up a headshot, but it's absurd to see it dish out that much damage when the crossbow's AR with heavy bolts is only 279. That said, this weapon has great utility for its damage output and weight/stamina cost. It's especially great at dealing with ranged and caster opponents.

I use this for pulling enemies on my pyro. Low stat requirements are great cause I only run 12/10 STR/DEX.

the best of this girl is her low stat requirement and her weight, perfect for pure dex builds and ppl that target for a low Soul level.

The best weapon in the game, hands down. Keep it on your shield hand and it's the perfect tool for harassment. It has low damage, sure, but bolts come out fast, and they make people move. Host running away? Crossbow. Phantom attacking PvE? Crossbow. Sure you'll miss a lot of shots, but it's the constant pressure that is what you want as an invader. Not to mention you can get it ten minutes after starting the game.

Doesn't do anything better than other crossbows can, but its strength is that it really doesn't have a weakness. It's the more versatile crossbow and weighs roughly as much as a light shield, making it better as a utility weapon as opposed to a main weapon, and I'd argue that most builds benefit more from a lightweight tool for chucking explosives instead of a heavy damage-cannon in melee combat

i like that it weighs the same as llewelyn shield. easy swap.

Don't underestimate this little guy. It might not deal the most damage, but it makes up for it by being light on weight and stamina cost. Great for both PvE and PvP.

... By this weapon. Overpowered af. I'm glad the weeps that were sub par in the previous souls, now get some attention RE: estoc, dark sword etc. the list of generic *****ty weapons, that are now on top is good to see.
...but don't overlook it because of that, landing a hit from it with the best bolts still gets you a decent long range poke of noticable damage. Its super light weight could give you a lot to work with by giving your character a surprise long range attack without the heavy weight burden the other crossbows bring. Very nice utility.

Can't wait to try out this skill. Seems like an excellent idea for a crossbow.
