Black Knight Glaive is a Weapon in Dark Souls 3.
Glaive of the black knights who wander the lands. Used to face chaos demons.

Many people overlooks the ability of pancaking enemies, wich can be done repeatedly thanks to the attack's speed and tracking. On top of that, you have some hyper armor while jumping.
- Anonymous
People complain if it has a 4-hit combo that does like 900 damage, people complain that it's "a shame" if it's patched out. And not hitting as hard as ultra greatswords + bugged thrust counters like its Dark Souls 1 counterpart makes it useless. We should have known Elden Ring was gonna be whining ***** central
- Anonymous
"Softcaps strength immediately upon reaching base requirements" page doesn't mention that that's only regarding twohanding
- Anonymous
Is it only the unique attacks the Black Knight weapons have that balancebreak the enemies? Or is it just attacking in general?
- Anonymous
its WAY worse than in ds1 for multiple reasons 1 not early game 2 does not do 670 damage and 3 not nearly as tactile its a ****ing toothpick compared to the original
- Anonymous
Compaired to the glaive, this weapon here is not a bardiche, but an actual glaive.
- Anonymous
The control you get over the 2hR2 is insane. you can actually pull off a 270 degree turn, or two 180s. just figured i'd mention it.

Ahhh, good ol' reliable.
Flatting people with the Charged R2 is so nice.

28 STR FOR A D E X WEAPON!?!,
JESUS, the weapon is absolutly awesome, do not misunderstand me but that is quite a crushing str requirement for a weapon that gains a large majority of its damage from dexterity
- Anonymous
Honestly, very fun weapon. Good damage, balanced moveset, great WA, and stylish as hell. Shame that From patched out the combo but still highly recommended.
removed the note that says the weapon has an r2 r1 l2 r2 true combo since from the comments it seems that it was patched out

I've just started using this weapon today and I've already fallen in love with it, it has everything you'd want. Good damage, great moveset, good range, hyperarmour in some of its attacks, a powerful sword art and amazing tracking. The bonus damage against demons is nice throw in as well. Downside it can't be buffed or infused but that's not really a problem since it already has good scaling and damage. This thing is amazing on my quality build and I high recommend you use it as well if you have a quality build.

So the the R1 into fully weapon art combo was considered too overpowered yet From had no problems with the Splitleaf's true combo. God there are some PHENOMENAL thought processes that go on with Japanese game devs when it comes to balancing things.
- Anonymous
it did slash damage in DS1/R, so why naut here? look at how slim it is, it's not broad enough to be standard
- Anonymous
"R2 -> R1 -> L2 -> R1 is also a combo" Yeah, maybe 3 years ago.

Just three shot someone with 458 AR, if you are reading, GIVE YOUR CHARACTER MORE VIGOUR

The 2-handed r2 attack has hyper armor during the jump, both the normal and the charged version.

In DS1 this baby was secretly compatible with the Leo ring. While that isn’t the case in DS3, I’m pretty certain that it does have a hidden counter damage bonus. Also, R1 L2 R1 can continue with R2 L2 R1 if your opponent doesn’t double roll away after the first combo.
- Anonymous
I thought it was too good to be true, this does not have an r2 r1 l2 r1 combo, if it did it would out damage the splitleaf even with buffs.
- Anonymous
This beauty helped me end the dreadful Demon Prince after countless tries. I guess the added damage against demons helped, but probably so did the practice I had after so many failures.
- Anonymous
You know, this was the first weapon I died to in my first ever duel? He had killed me in one combo, which made me curious about how each weapon functioned and that was the start of my journey in becoming a decent PvP'er.
- Anonymous
Actually thought we would be having a dark black knight glaive
- Anonymous
Majestic two handed R2 and it’s overshadowed by the SLGS so I get to feel slightly less like a meta head, one of my faves
- Anonymous
If you’re good enough to get it, this thing wrecks at level 25. Used it to farm my swordgrasses in about 2 hours
- Anonymous
Old habits die hard... also the sweet spot gives me flashbacks to how OP halberd really were in ds2 if you spent an unhealthy amount of time learning spacing
- Anonymous
One handed r1 is a nice roll catcher for the ppl who just rolls around you

This thing is still awesome, it feels so good to use. You can do a 360 deg R2 for style points if you don't lock on and don't fully charge it.

what's does "The unique attack of ths weapon greatly reduces enemy poise" mean in practice?
- Anonymous
Has anyone noticed a bright spot underneath of where you found this weapon? Can anyone explain this
- Anonymous
"cannot be infused". In combination with the dex scaling and the high str requirements this is a huge problem
- Anonymous
you forget to mention the concept of poise damage and stamina consumption of the attack factored in the attack rating of the weapon especially affected by the opponets armour, stability and poise your evidence is:
1) weapons weight and stamina consumed in attacks affect damage try experimenting with a fully upgraded light club or rapier you will still do neglible damage & poise damage to heavy stable and armored opponents like havel or the drakes in the drake valley when i kill them using bandit knife they absorb 7 hits to stunlobk and they died mainly of bleed effect.
2) in comparison black knight weapons stunlock them in 1 or 2 hits depending on stamina consumption as the item description says they require the wearer to put his entire weight into the attack also their unique beautiful strong attacks consume like 100 stamina unit but deals 405 against artorias grave defenders in darkroot garden higher than the weapon attack rating which is unique and this what made the bk able to smack down demons.so (bk weapons consume stamina for 3 attacks in 1 attack) game plot.
to come close to this damage outout in early game u will have 2 use da stone great sword with red tearstone ring. more dangerous but more rewarding playstyle.
3) in ds2 if u initiate an attack with nearly depleted stamina the damage output decreases software introduced this modification of game mechenics in subsequnt series.
4) your strong attack(2) with same weapon and attack rating consume more stamina and deal more damage when compared to a light attack (r1).
5) in ds1 your black knight halbard requires higher strengh to dexterity to wield efficently 32/18 and scales for D/E EVEN THOUGH HALBARDS ARE DEXTERITY WEAPONS.
this happened also for da stone twinblade in ds2 scales for strength although this is a dexterity class weapons.
6) in ds3 software updated the it to black knight glave to have the same strength>dexterity weapon requirments but completely changed the weapon scaling to D for strengh and C for dexterity for regular +4 & +5 upgrades which made da weapon even harder to use.
please upgrade both weapon pages to help new players.

Which Black Knight weapon is the best for a 40 strength and 40 dexterity build?
- Anonymous
Amazing 6 hit combo, only downside to this weapon is its odd scaling requiring a lot of strength but scales better with dexterity.
I always found it weird and hilarious that this thing takes 28 strength and yet it's a damn Dexterity weapon. It ends up scaling higher in Dexterity than not...some weapons just make no sense to me. Weapons scaling Dex, but have higher Str requirements. Or weapons with Int requirements but having NO scaling in them. Same with Fth requirements, but no Fth scaling...
This is the last Dark Souls guys. Come on. Get this***** right. :| Just saying.

The uncharged 1-handed R2 has 990 degree tracking during the attack... (we DS2 PvE now)
The uncharged 2-handed R2 has 720 degree tracking during the attack.
When charged, both moves are reduced to 180 degree tracking.

I love all the people complaining about the friken' BKG. Sure its good, but have you tried rolling? Quickstepping? Fast weapons? No? Well try that and stop complaining. There are bigger fish to fry (there are weapons better than this one to complain about).

IRL black knight halberds http://image.taodabai.com/upload/1/0c/10c4cfa1d0ab176c244a818927619d5b.jpg pretty interesting finding out how much history influences From's art direction.

I use to use this weapon until i used a different build and fought it. This weapons 600 damage combo is ridiculous

Wish it was like the one in Dark Souls 2 with fire already infused in it. Would've been good for pyros

It seems like an amazing weapon. However, it is the one weapon I have failed to beat on numerous occasions. For one, I'm not very good, but I can win more than half of the time. I dislike this weapon because it summarizes every bad quality of a weapon I dislike. For one, it has amazing damage. I thought it would be weaker than Winged Knight, but it hits much harder. Form there, it has superb range and revolutionary phantom range. It also has extreme stunlock and even better hyper armor, assuring that you will not trade hits. But this is not why I dislike it.I dislike it because whenever I fight someone using this, they don't even try to be original. its just the same r1 bait every single time. If I go in for the hit, I will be hit and combo-d. If I don't, the fight doesn't progress. So far, I have not seen one person use this originally. Because of this, I have stopped fighting against anyone using this weapon, either returning to my world or killing myself. This is so they don't feel the false elation of a cheap win.Estoc users know they're terrible. Washing Pole users feel the hate. But still no publicity on what I feel is the cheapest, most unbalanced weapon in the game. But I can see why some people like it. It looks cool and is very powerful. If there is someone out there who uses this originally, thank you. I'd use this if I could live with the guilt.Anyway, this is just what I thought. I guess I just need to Git Gud.

If you use this in PvP you ought to sit back and enjoy a nice long chug of bleach

This weapon's op? Of all the black knight weapons how is this consider op? I've dropped almost every BK glaive user I fought (minus a few running in a gank squad). It may just be the new choice for try hards. Don't get me wrong I've messed around with it in PvP and PvE and it's fun but not op.

Was struggling with Champion Gundyr until I used this weapon. Reinforced it a little and killed him first time using it.

Does anyone find it strange that you find this weapon in Gyndur's fight room? is it some kind of foreshadowing or maybe there's something special about beating Gundyr with a halberd? I should try that on the next playthrough?
I always try to parry the weapon art, but not once have I parried it. can anyone confirm if the weapon art is parry able?

R2, R1, L2, R2 was nerfed and no longer works, the new combo is R1, L2, R1

Everyone and their mother is using this weapon. It's the new estoc. It's not even hard to use, another trait shared with the estoc.

Seriously. I can never stunlock anybody.I've seen people hitting me 5 times in a row and I couldn't roll at all.Yet whenever I hit people twice, they roll away. No matter which weapon I use.

Doing some casual pvp in Anor Londo. Did a fight club in someone's world. Two sunbros and a host. The sunbros 1v1 me one at a time, no estus until after each fight. Manage to end both fairly easily, feeling pretty cocky. So I begin to face down the host who happens to be dual wielding this weapon. HE LANDS ONE HIT ON ME AND CONTINUES TO HIT ME WHILE I AM STUCK IN HITSTUN UNTIL I AM DEAD. Like five hits in a row with no chance to dodge in there.....this weapon is impressive! Gonna try it out for myself soon!

I mean you get to have it so late in the game you've probably slain all the chaos demons it's supposedly good against. Also no fire damage *sad panda* (isn't that the sig of all black knight weapons?)you can't even infuse it and it has meh scaling, altho it has a really good base damage

Also does more damage against the demon on the bridge
