    • You should wear it if you have high intellegence.
But if you wear it you have low intellegence because you think it's a good idea to sacrifice fashion and ruin your character's looks for a tiny ~10% damage increase.

This is so ugly, I will keep the witch hat for my character, those extra damages arent very important anyway

Pros: you'll recieve +20% damage boost for all your magic attacks and sorceries
Cons: lowered defence + you'll look like an owl that just got eaten and sh** out by a bear

So this means that Farron Keep (the place you find this) is totally Oolacile/ Darkroom Garden, right? Makes sense of why the Abyss Watchers are found fighting the abyss here

            • Anonymous

In Dark Souls 1, this increase pyro and miracle dmg as well? Does it do that in DS3, it just stated https://darksouls3.wiki.fextralife.com/Miracles
under Miracle Enhancement Items that Crown of Dusk is one of them.

Anyone know if this crown is like the blindfold mask? As in, when broken the damage vulnerability is only 15% and not 30%?

                • Anonymous

It should emphasize “keep ruins” bonfire. I wasted time looking and wasting moss from the “farron keep” bonfire

Rather Annoying that it just boosts Spell Magic Damage, DS1 at least it gave a boost to any catalyst's magic adjust

I don't know...10% damage increase is not enough to wear this abomination instead of Karla's Hat, Sage Hat or Firewitchhelmet...
Maybe for sweating hard in arena...

so much ruined fashion souls potential because of this thing, i wish it gave no dmg bonus so I could use whatever without knowing im gimping my damage. still wear it anyways qq

Just so all of you know, the crown of dusk increases MAGIC DAMAGE. Which means it can increase magic damage of miracles like darkmoon blade too, it's not just sorceries that get buffed. If you don't believe me, read the description.

These comments are hilarious. I play mostly as a female cus if I’m gonna get my ass kicked, at least I’ll look pretty doing it. But even I hate the look of this thing!

guys guys use this with archdeacon set on male character (and make a young and not that ugly one) and it feets perfectly, fashion souls are safe

As a dude, i consider it humiliating, that i have to turn into a catgirl, for 10% bonus damage... i still do it uwu

As of this date, does NOT affect dark sorceries (tested with Affinity and Dark Edge, on drakeblood knight)

On a game with no compass you should say left or right when exiting a door not northwest there is no bearing.

Is it only spells or is it just magic damage in general? For example would I get the boost on something like the Moonlight Greatsword

if you don t speak to the archer giant, he'll practically kill the crab for you Theres a spot where the crab gets stuck and the giant shoots it if you set up correctly

You guys are crazy, maybe your character is ugly in general. But with this, my male character looks flipping adorable.

Honestly i don't understand why people are calling it ugly i personally think its really cute and looks great on female characters i completely understand not liking not cause of how stupid it looks on male characters

I have not seen it mentioned, but I am getting 20% increase in souls from enemies while wearing the Crown.

crown of dusk boosts the ar of weapons that deal magic damage, but not even close to the claimed 10 % :

                                                - greatsword of judgement with 250 magic AR -> +12 ar
                                                - crystal mail breaker with 180 magic AR -> +9 AR
                                                - moonlight greatsword with 325 magic AR -> +16 AR

tested without any ring to prevent hidden interactions

that means the true bonus to magic dmgs is actually 5% , not 10%

                                                • Anonymous

You know what would have been actually cooler , if this boost was on sage's big hat or karlas pointed hat or all of them cause they are hoods anyway.

                                                  • Anonymous

So how's this sound for a maximum-magic-destruction setup?
                                                    1. Wear Crown of Dusk (+10% magic dmg)
                                                    2. Equip young dragon, bellowing dragoncrest, and magic clutch ring (a whopping 47% magic dmg boost for all 3!!) In the 4th slot i would probably equip ROSP, lloyd's sword ring, or chloranthy.
                                                    3. Hold Scholar's candlestick in your offhand for another 12.5% magic dmg if you are casting sorceries like CSS, but if you are gong for melee like me, just buff your weapon of choice with darkmoon blade (scholar's candlestick only affects your currently equipped catalyst's spellbuff, so you can't cast a buff like DMB and then switch to the candlestick for the damage boost).
                                                    4. Watch your enemies' life bars melt away as you obliterate them a total magic dmg boost of 57%, or 69.5% (!!!) if you use the candlestick.

I'll be trying this setup on my current character as soon as I have all the items (still need to farm concords for DMB). There aren't many enemies in this game that are weak to magic (I don't believe there is even a single boss who is weak to magic unfortunately), but i'm betting that the potential 70% boost will make magic more effective even against bosses like the dancer and abyss watchers, who are extremely weak to fire and lightning, respectively. To anyone who's already tried setups like this, I'd love to hear your thoughts.

                                                    • Anonymous

Edgy, dark and climate veils, hoods, crowns, diadems or great mage hats. Yet, you still have to wear this crap cause you cant live without maxed dmg... especially while in DkS3 magic is so underpowered.
BTW it used to give a whole 25% bonus in DkS1, even while magic was good on its own.

I wear it just becaues I like how it looks actually..

A true Dark Souls classic, this utter piece of crap makes you look like some hideous clown sulking in deepest corners of hell, yet you will wear it because it buffs your casting skill up to heavens. A moment of silence for Dark Souls2 pyromancer handcuffs.

                                                          • Anonymous

also i use these rings1 magic clutch ring which increases your damage by 15%2 sage's ring which increases your casting time.3 young dragon ring which increases your damage by 12%4 bellowing dragon crest ring which increases your damage by a further 20%all the damage stacks btw

                                                            • Anonymous

if you are like me you're probably here trying to figure out what items will help you be a boss sorcerer. well i'm going to save you the trouble. there are only two items that boost your damage (besides rings) 1 being the crown of dusk and the other being the scholars candlestick, dropped by the wax covered scholars in the grand items. it raises your damage by about 25%.

                                                              • Anonymous

...you have some reflective armor on. I am currently wearing it with Fire Witch's Armor, Fire Witch's Gauntlets and Archdeacon Skirt. Makes you look like a sort of Sorcerer Prince. This way it doesn't make me wanna rip out my eyes every time I see it. It's still ugly, but it suits the rest of the armor.

                                                                • Anonymous

                                                                  • Anonymous

                                                                    • Anonymous

                                                                      • Anonymous

                                                                        • Anonymous

Does not seem to affect dark sorceries either. Tested using Soul Dreg on hollow in High Wasl of Lothric; same damage without it as with it on. Tested Great Soul Arrow alongside it on the same enemies and there was a difference with the Crown on. So it seems to be confirmed that Dark Sorcery is unaffected by the Crown of Dusk.

                                                                          • Anonymous

I boosted INT and Spell cast speed plus it looked badass. It was super light but had great weight to defense ratio, add with Vestaldts Chest combo it looked and added up to one bad ass flowing caped mage knight. If I miss one thing its those cool caster hoods...

                                                                            • Anonymous

                                                                              • Anonymous

                                                                                • Anonymous

                                                                                  • Anonymous

Not far from it are the mushroom people. If you put these things together, it is possible Dusk was transformed into the tree like Elizabeth was a mushroom. Pure speculation, but food for thought.

                                                                                    • Anonymous
