Lightning Clutch Ring

lightning clutch ring

Ring depicting a hand grasping a yellow stone. Increases lightning attack, but compromises damage absorption.

An old fable in Londor claims that the lure of the clutch ring reaches out to the crestfallen, who might otherwise be overcome by despair.

Lightning Clutch Ring is a Ring in Dark Souls 3.

Lightning Clutch Ring Effect

  • Increases lightning attack by 15% in PvE and 8% in PvP

  • Reduces Physical, Strike, Slash, and Thrust Absorptions 10% in PvE and 15% in PvP

  • Weight: 0.8

Where to Find Lightning Clutch Ring

Notes

  • Boosts lightning damage done by player including both Weapons and Miracles. Also boosts damage on Lightning Urns.
  • Reduction in absorption is calculated by increasing your current absorption by 10% and then subtracting 10 (i.e. New = 1.1xOld- 10; calculated with excel)
  • To offset the penalty to damage reduction from this ring, the Ring of Steel Protection is useful (especially in PvE).

I wish someone would add some tested damage values for pvp vs pve. There’s no change in stat screen ar.

useless ring for miracle builds; if equipped with steel protection there's no slot for sage ring making miracles soooo easy to miss

I'd rather these rings be balanced across PvP and PvE, there's no reason for the different outputs. Makes it pointless for PvP and only useful for pvE. What a dumb idea.

This only increases weapon buffs ar by 3%, I tested it on Lightning Blade buff and Resins, as the 15% damage buff works only on miracles such as sunlight spear

what about the pvp damage reduction? I've read the bonus is only 3% in pvp/coop/invasions for clutch rings. Rendering this "fine item" a wasted ringslot in those situations.

Really badass ring combined with steel protection +2 to offset the reduction in physical damage reduction. Lightning Clutch Ring adds a lot of damage to my Refined Lothric Knight Greatsword when i buff it with Lightning Blade, or buff Dragonslayers Axe with Lightning blade. I don't think it's worth it using it on an unbuffable weapon, since the lightning damage is too low for the percentage to really increase the damage much. Yorshka's Chime +10 and 60 faith Lightning Blade buff on a Lothric Knight Greatsword is insane damage.

Where does this come in the formula?lightning clutch ring, lightning blade, dragonslayer's axe (creighton's axe)

An excellent ring for the Dark Sword infused with lighting for it has S faith scaling, with 40 Faith it does 143 + 152 lighting damage, i tested it and this ring adds about 40-41 lighting damage which is very decent on it's own but since Dark Sword is a pretty fast a not a lot of stamina consuming perk attack weapon it becomes great.

That's a yes remember that if you have the ring slots buffing with resins and tossing a clutch ring on will be better than a loyd's ring by far.
