Ledo's Great Hammer is a Weapon in Dark Souls 3. It was added with The Ringed City DLC.

Great Hammer wielded by the Silver Knight Ledo. Ledo's hammer is by far the heaviest weapon amongst those wielded by the knights of Anor Londo.

Ledo, an eccentric who traveled aross the outskirts, became a close friend to the giants and even Havel, the Rock.

Skill: Call to Stone
Spin to lure stones to the steel hammer, and use strong attack to transition into an earth slam that shatters the stones in a shockwave.

Notes and Tips:

  • Upgraded with Twinkling Titanite.
  • Cannot be Buffed or Infused.
  • Outweighs Smough's and Morne's Great Hammer by 4 units. This does not only make it the heaviest Great Hammer, but also the heaviest weapon in the game. It's also stronger than Smough's Great Hammer when 2-handed at 66 Strength (668 AR vs 681 AR )
  • While having the highest Strength requirement in the game, it is beaten by the Smelter Hammer from Dark Souls 2 Iron King DLC, requiring 70 Strength.
  • This Great Hammer, along with Smough's Great Hammer and Morne's Great Hammer, have a higher poise health value than the other Great Hammers, with 32.9 poise health instead of the usual 30.8. This means you can have much less poise and still be able to tank through the other Ultras.

Location/Where to Find

  • Dropped by Silver Knight Ledo when he invades you in The Ringed City (Location) Near the very long staircase where the large enemies (Harald) are patrolling, there is a very long ladder that leads up to one of the friendly locust npc's (white preacher). The Ladder is located to the right of the long staircase (at the very bottom of it) in the swamp near 3 cleric turtle enemies. Once you went up the entire ladder there is a way that leads left to a ringed knight but there is also a way to the right, where you can drop off onto a stoney path. You need to follow the path to a room where silver Knight Ledo invades you.
  • After killing Halflight, Spear of the Church (or a player boss for the same boss fight) Silver Knight Ledo will no longer invade. You can however still get his weapon by reviving Judicator Argo at the Purging Monument for a varying amount of souls. Once you've revived Judicator Argo, go to the location where Silver Knight Ledo invades you an kill him to get his weapon (if Silver Knight Ledo doesn't invade use a dried finger bought from the Shrine Handmaid, it should work).

This weapon very much suits the design of that of a black knight, rather than a silver knight. think about it. The engravings and designs on it are very similar to the style of black knight weapons seen through out the game. The size would be appropriate for something of a black knight and yet again another thing. Havel was a close compatriot to that of lord Gwyn, and his black knights accompanied to the first flame. So the lore would have been better suited if there was this one knight called black knight Ledo, who was the strongest and gained the respect of Havel the rock. He did not wish to become ash, so he ventured the land and eventually became friends with the giants. That to me at least is a much better lore.

I’ve recently returned to ds3 and decide to try my lvl 80 str build with Ledo’s and oh my god was it fun. First invasion was as a spear and I immediately guard broke host and one shot him, gg From, gg.

When you use weapon animation without the heavy attack and keep the stones one the hammer it does more damage

Class wise it needs some time to go into hyperarmor what opens large windows for counterattacks that will stagger you. When it hits it's great. But GS and estoc just won't let you. Other hammers have perseverance to counter this. But I couldn't find any solution for Ledos other than to parry them. The weapon itself seems to have no answer for these tactis.

Would like to add that while I was playing offline, unable to use dried finger, I simple quit and reload the area when Ledo didn't invade me initially after resurrecting Argo.

This hammer can obscure my sight of my enemy which can be deadly. I'd rather go with dragon tooth, morne's hammer or some other weapon that doesn't block my view.

Very easy to dodge 1v1, just equip something slightly faster and wait for them to blow their stamina on a few swings. War of attrition at that point. But a pain if you're dancing against a 3v1 and this thing is spinning around.

This weapon is basically From after realizing they ruined the Fume Greatsword and decided why fix it when they can just make another weapon

I found this to be pretty interesting.

If you have at less than 60 strength, you cannot one hand it. But if you have at least 40 strength and two hand it, you can effectively use this weapon.

40STR while two handing, activating the weapon art does the full thing (rocks activate, and does more damage). However, when doing the weapon art while one handing (through the use of a weapon art shield), the full thing does not activate (rocks do not activate, and does much lower damage).

Don't get caught by the long windup attack that combos to the WA. You will die and it will be your own stupid fault. They will try to lure you into getting hit by it, that's how you play with the weapon. Bait swings and take a hit or two then roll away from it. They'll play unaggressively and wait for you to make an error. Throw bombs and poison at them to keep the pressure on them and try to get them to step up their agenda. Long reach weapons help. I like my zweihander's poke for this as it gives you more range to avoid retaliatory rock smashes. I did kill a guy once with the backstab via the same weapon, which was pretty funny. Those are also good, especially as the long animation allows you a chance to get into place, if you've got the balls to risk it.

Oh, look: more people complaining. I've been invaded by guys using this. It's just a great hammer: you can dodge, you can poke if you have the reach and you can cast. Sure, it might kill you faster sometimes - but you already knew that, so it's all on you.

                          Git gud scrubs.
